Junior Network Engineer – Job Profile
We are currently looking for a Junior Master Degree Network Engineer to reinforce our
Enterprise networking COMMUNITY.
Job description
As Devoteam consultant, you will participate in projects at a Large Enterprise or
Internet Service Provider (data, media and voice convergence) in Belgium as a
technology expert in the domain of enterprise networks and/or transportation
networks (WAN).
You will join the Enterprise Network Engineering team participating in the realization of
Network Solutions for different projects making use of the IP/MPLS infrastructure being
part of the complete portfolio of customer services (Fix & Mobile, Media, Residential,
Professional & Wholesale).
More specifically:
 Understanding of the project requirements & High Level technical solution.
 Participation in the detailed technical solution design
 Support to IT development process related to the defined solution
 Participation in the realization of Test platform
 Testing of the defined solution.
 Report the Test results towards Engineering and project organization
 Support to operational department during solution roll-out, complex problems &
incidents.


Profile specification
 The ideal candidate has genuine interest and relevant knowledge in routing,
switching, wireless and wan acceleration;
 Possesses a master degree or equivalent by experience;
 Possesses a Certification of CCNA Routing & Switching or equivalent package.
 Certification CCNA Security/CCNA Voice will be considered as an advantage.
 Has gained knowledge in Cisco products. Other product vendors as Juniper,
Alcatel-Lucent are considered an advantage.
 Has good communication skills and speaks fluently in Dutch and/or French and
has good command in English;
 Real team player, Work self empowered, Take initiative, Committed
 Flexible mindset , able to define workarounds
 Can-Do mentality
Technical skills
 Good Knowledge of:
- The general network environment (LAN, WAN, routers, switches, FW)
- Backbone Network transmission protocols (Ethernet)
- Backbone Network communication protocols (IP, MPLS)
- Network protocols (DNS,DHCP,HTTP,FTP,SNMP,LDAP,RTP,SIP,VPN)
- Routing protocols (EIGRP, RIP, OSPF as advantage: BGP, IS-IS)
- Network Quality of Services standards & mechanisms (QOS on L2/L3)
- Customer Premises equipment (CPE)
- Unix/Linux, scripting languages
- Service Provisioning / ITSM Integration
- Network Trouble shooting (Wireshark)
- Network Scripting and simulation
- Network Monitoring mechanisms.
