This is one of the greatest survival stories of all time.
It’s about a group of young men who managed to survive
for 72 days at an altitude of 4.000 metres, in the heart of the
Andes, after their plane had crashed there in October 1972...

As a filmmaker and childhood friend of several of them,
Gonzalo ARIJON had undertaken the task of making an indepth documentary film - something never before attempted
- with the hole group of Survivors.
But beyond this «unbelievable story of cannibalism «, the film
attempts to bring out the very essence of this experience,
one both intensely intimate and wholly collective, a strong
parable on the human condition.
L’une des histoires de survie les plus extraordinaires de tous
les temps.
En 1972, après le crash de leur avion, un groupe de jeunes
gens a survécu à 4000 mètres d’altitude dans les Andes,
pendant 72 jours … Les seize survivants racontent leur histoire
comme ils ne l’ont jamais fait auparavant
En tant que cinéaste et ami d’enfance de plusieurs de ces
survivants, Gonzalo ARIJON a souhaité réaliser avec eux, « le »
documentaire sur leur histoire, ce qui n’avait jamais été fait
auparavant.
Au-delà de cette « incroyable histoire de cannibalisme », le
film tente de révéler l’essence profonde de cette expérience, à
la fois individuelle et collective : une parabole sur la condition
humaine.
