What is "Your Cloud Device" ?
"Your Cloud Device" is a box that allows you to have a cloud at home (share files, pics,
videos, contacts, calendars, multiusers, without subscription) powered by a new PC Board
(Raspberry Pi*) combined with OpenSource Software (including OwnCloud).
All that stuff is set up into a box, fully parameterized, with a dedicated administration panel
(through any webbrowser) and ready to use !
You just have to plug it on a USB charger to power it up.
What is a cloud ?
According to wikipedia :
'Cloud computing is the use of computing resources (hardware and software) that are
delivered as a service over a network (typically the Internet)'
It's a way to store/to have access to same data on any device (PC, Tablet, SmartPhone, ...)
and to share those data with other people (for example, share picture of your last holiday !).
No more need to connect your phone on your computer to download pics, No more need to use
a USB Key to transfer a file from your desktop PC to you Laptop, or your wife's computer !
Why your own cloud at home ?

boat … or just at home. Mine is at the bottom of the cupboard, where it works just
fine !
Who are we ?
MathSiMo is a French startup specialized in new technology and hight
computation. We frequently install some specific cloud solution for our
customers, and we are familiar with open technology (Linux user
since ... a long time ago, µ-controller software development, robotic
algorithm conception, high performance computing, shared computation
through network, Metaheuristic system - Artificial Intelligence, ...).
We develop technologies working in industrial conditions or in raw
environment conditions (frequently deep under water), in order to
develop industrial process (standardisation, reliability ...).
We have been using our own cloud for some time now, and we are familiar with embedded
linux (FOX Board G20, Raspberry Pi*, ...). We are used to work with OpenSource software, or
to develop our own software if necessary.
A part of MathSiMo expertise is based on personal experience through a PhD in
Applied Mathematics in Fluid Mecanics. I have developed my own programs in
computation fluid dynamics with multi-core multi-computer parallelized cloud
computation. I also develop Artificial Intelligence embedded systems on PC board for
industrial purpose, for personal use, or just for fun :-D

Design Competition
We have not yet finalized the case design, even if we have all
the electronic stuff inside the case. You can participate to the
final
design
by
sending
us
your
own
design
!
We will organize a competition with all compatible designs, and
the winner will win a Model E ! (if campaign goal is reached).
The case should be about this size :

Why 14 000 $ ?
In order to have some specific components at better price, we need to buy in large enough
quantities.
If we reach 40 000 $, we will integrate a "one click" automatic software update
system !
Actually, product cost study is as follows :
67% dedicated to components costs, including the box with the final design.
15% dedicated to assembly costs, software development, design of a small administration
interface to let you access to some specific parameters (wifi ESSID and password, IP, format
storage device, ...).
8% dedicated to Indiegogo and payment methods fees.
5% will be donated to the
Raspberry Pi Foundation and other Open Source Foundations.
Last 5% include my holiday on the Riviera :-).

In order to power up "Your Cloud Device", you will need a USB charger.
Why don't we provide USB charger ? Because you probably have one, and, if
not, you will be able to find one everywhere. USB charger is often provided as
phone charger, tablet charger, camera charger, or other small electronic device.
You need a USB charger with a minimum of 1A.
2A USB charger is recommended if you use a USB Hard drive without external
power source.
