Through its practical and theoretical teaching, the programme sharpens students’ analytical skills and awakens their curiosity, especially through encounters with numerous international contributors, while at the same time preparing them for the inherent technical and administrative aspects of the discipline (work-site supervision, writing authorizations, knowledge of the professional trades). Students are confronted with real projects through the public and private mandate requests regularly handled by the school. Ouverture du Master Architecture d’intérieur : automne 2016 Bachelor of Arts in Interior Architecture Interior architects operate in spaces that are either domestic (housing), commercial (offices, shops, stands) or cultural (museums, exhibitions, scenography), as well as in institutions (schools, hospitals, administrative buildings) or in the field of leisure (sports halls, entertainment facilities, holiday resorts). Whether private or public, permanent or ephemeral, all these are spaces that interior architects are called on to design, transform or invent. Faced with emerging issues related to ecology, urbanism and the densification of peripheries, interior designers, like architects, are now forced to respond to these new challenges. They must not only be aware of the solutions offered by Opening of the Masters programme in Interior Architecture: Autumn 2016 Master Espaces et Communication Display et design d’exposition Design d’espace Signalétique Responsable Head of the programme Alexandra Midal Professeure responsable de l’orientation Espaces & communication Rosario Hurtado/ El Ultimo Grito Equipe enseignante Teaching team Ruedi Baur Nitzan Cohen Damian Conrad Matali Crasset) Roberto Feo/El Ultimo Grito Marteen Gielen/Rotor Marguerite Humeau Tristan Kobler Laurent Massaloux Arno Mathis Alexandra Midal Yves Mirande Dylan Perrenoud Nathalie Pieron Vivien Philizot Sébastien Quequet Dominic Robson Pascal Rousseau Maki Suzuki/Åbäke Noam Toran Le Master Espaces & Communication offre une formation internationale unique en Europe associant pratique contemporaine professionnelle et expérimentale. Master in Spaces and Communication Display and exhibition design Space design Signage The Master of Arts in Spaces and Communication offers an international training course unique in Europe. Associating contemporary professional and experimental practices, it is addressed both to designers and graphic designers and combines object and spatial design skills with visual communication. Taught by professional designers, graphic designers, signage specialists, architects-scenographer and critics, our program enables students to design and realize personal projects as well as projects commissioned by institutional and private partners. Exhibitions, displays, showcases, signage, visual identities and pop up spaces are all projects produced on a 1:1 scale, ranging from initial conceptual development to print or online communication tools. Teaching is built on a series of workshops and studio and that combine practical and theoretical aspects. In parallel, students develop a personal project with the assistance of tutors and technical support. The backbone of the course, as this individual work can take many forms, from exhibition: scenography, furniture, film, and publications, to signage in the city or in an architecture, leads on to the final project at the end of the two years of the Master’s programme, which in turn allows the student to integrate the professional network developed along this two years.
