République centrafricaine (RCA) Revue de Presse Quotidienne 13 Février 2014 (ANGLAIS & FRANCAIS) France says ‘partition’ must be prevented in war-torn Central African Republic - France’s Defence Minister Jean-Yves le Drian says the conflict-torn Central African Republic must not be allowed to split. He was speaking on his latest visit to the former French colony. Rising religious violence there has prompted UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to warn that de facto ‘partition’ between Muslims and Christians is a real risk. http://www.euronews.com/2014/02/12/france-says-partition-must-beprevented-in-war-torn-central-african-republic/ Mass grave found in Central African Republic; U.N. warns of 'cleansing' - A Reuters witness saw at least a dozen decomposed bodies at the military camp in the 200 Villas neighborhood of Bangui, where Seleka fighters have been stationed for several months. The bodies had been stuffed into a large underground chamber, possibly a septic tank. Pastor Antoine Mboa Bogo, head of the local Red Cross, confirmed the existence of the grave and said his staff would return to the camp on Thursday to determine the number of dead. It is not known who committed the killings. http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/02/12/us-central-african-idUSBREA1B1PF20140212 Ethnic cleansing of CAR's Muslims alleged - Heavily armed Muslim soldiers from the former Seleka rebel movement control this town, patrolling and manning checkpoints. On the outskirts, Christian militias have set up camp, determined to seize power. “This is our fear,” Aboud Dieng, the top U.N. humanitarian official for the Central African Republic, said during a recent visit to this town. “The Seleka say they will try to partition the country. This is a very important part of the country where they may be trying to establish a stronghold to control the rest of the country.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/africa/town-in-the-central-african-republic-braces-for-warbetween-christians-and-muslims/2014/02/12/2c0eb9d2-9325-11e3-b3f7-f5107432ca45_story.html Briefing: Who are the anti-balaka of CAR? - On 10 February, Gen Francisco Soriano, commander of Sangaris, the French peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic (CAR), condemned the antibalaka militia as the main enemy of peace in the country, and vowed that the mission would concentrate its efforts against them. His statement came just before Amnesty International charged international peacekeepers with having failed to prevent the ethnic cleansing of Muslim civilians in western CAR. This IRIN briefing looks at the threat posed by the anti-balaka to Muslims and to the CAR population in general. http://www.irinnews.org/report/99634/briefing-who-are-the-anti-balaka-of-car La Centrafrique va-t-elle être coupée en deux ?
