Project Description:
In April 2012, the Central Water Commission (CWC) with assistance from the World Bank, embarked upon the Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement
Project (DRIP) at an estimated cost of 350 million USD. The development objectives of DRIP are: (i) to improve the safety and performance of 250
selected existing dams and associated appurtenances in a sustainable manner, and (ii) to strengthen the dam safety institutional setup in 7
participating States across India as well as at Central level.
Egis Eau and Egis in India were appointed in December 2013 to provide engineering and management consultancy services to CWC as part of
DRIP’s Central Project Management Unit (CPMU) until completion of the project in December 2018. Egis currently employs 40 staff, around 30 of
whom are based at CWC, New Delhi and 10 of whom are based in sub-unit offices in Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai and Trivandrum. More

Role Description:
We are looking for a Graduate Engineer to strengthen our team based at the Central Water Commission, New Delhi. The candidate will assume the
responsibilities and meet the requirements set out below and his/her time would be split between technical and project management tasks.
Responsibilities:
- preparation and collation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports
- support to Team Leader and Deputy Team Leader for preparing presentations
- work with MIS Experts to ensure accurate and timely project monitoring
- work with Computer Operators to ensure effective document management
- support to Team Leader for co-ordination/documentation of weekly team meetings
- co-ordination with Egis Eau head office for management of international experts
- support to Deputy Team Leader for co-ordination with Egis India, Gurgaon office
- contribute to 3rd party construction supervision and other technical activities
- support to develop technical guidelines and specifications
Profile requirements:
- Degree in Civil / Hydraulics / Water resources Engineering (Bac +5 or equivalent)
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and report writing
- Advanced ability in MS Office (particularly Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
- Proven ability to work in teams as well as independently
- Willingness to develop different skills (communication, organisational, technical..)
Preferred :
- 1 to 2 years’ of previous work experience
- Previous experience of living and working in developing countries
- Some knowledge and experience of dam design and/or construction
