THE HOLY SPIRIT – Your comfort
ICE BREAKER
The Holy Spirit is your biggest fan. But, how can we actually feel him continually cheering us on? So, we
are going to start with an experiment. The host welcomes the first guest in the best (football) fan manner.
(Cheering and chanting – just be courageous! :o) ). Then you continue doing; everybody is cheered on
like a famous star by the people who are already present.
SUMMARY OF THE MESSAGE
LUKE 3:21-22
«When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was
opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven:
"You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."»
The Bible – Today’s New International Version
1. The Holy Spirit is your biggest fan
GENESIS 1:2
«Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of
God was hovering over the waters.»

3. Believe that God only wants what is the best for you
1 CORINTHIANS 2:9-11
«"What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived-- these things
God has prepared for those who love him"-- for God has revealed them to us by his Spirit. The Spirit
searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person's thoughts except that
person's own spirit within? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.»

after you have done everything, to stand.»

6. Allow hope to be given to you
JOHN 14:16
«And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever...»

JOB 26:13
«By his Spirit the heavens are garnished. His hand has pierced the swift serpent.»
The Bible – World English Bible
SHARING, REFLECTION
Possibility 1


On a piece of paper draw your individual armour of God – without writing anything. (see
Summary of Message)
Then read Ephesians 6:11-17 “The armour of God” and talk about it together.
APPLICATION
Now take time alone to think about what have you become conscious of by working on your individual
armour of God? What have you noticed anew? Did the Holy Spirit show you something? How does God
perceive you? Add this information to your drawing.
Possible meaning of the armour of God:
The helmet – spiritual problems can be solved spiritually (ex. “I was not born a smoker.”
The breastplate – your feelings (ex. “My heart has decided to be with one woman.”)
The belt – your identity (ex. “Trust instead of being envious”)
The shoes – your life’s journey (ex. “My life’s journey is in God’s hand.”
The shield – your faith (ex. “Do I live by faith?”)
The sword – your values (ex. “Familiarize yourself with God’s word and his values”)

As an addition: Have you received any impressions for each other?

Prayer
Make sure you realize which power lies in the armour of God, which God has given us. Go through it step
by step and see what it means for each individual person in his/her situations and challenges.
Possibility 2
Quote from Leo’s message
“The Holy Spirit flies over your life like a dove bringing order where there is chaos.”
Step 1
Take about 5-10 minutes to think about which areas of your life are currently chaotic. And write these
areas down.
The three most common chaotic areas
1. Finances (Warehouse – God has put more than enough for you in there.)
2. Health (young deer – Isaiah 40:29-31)
3. Relationships (Jesus is our example)
Step 2
Now separate into smaller groups. Tell each other what is happening in your life at the moment, listen and
then pray for each other about what the Holy Spirit wants to tell you. (Bible verses, comforting words, new
identity, spiritual things should be bound spiritually, healing, pictures). Write these things down.
1. Thes. 5:19-21
Don’t put anything in the way to hinder the Holy Spirit from working! Don’t be disrespectful of prophetic
statements, but test everything. Take along what is good.
Step 3
Once again take some time alone with God and the Holy Spirit. Think about and on a piece of paper draw
how you think God perceives you. A new creation, filled with the Holy Spirit. Your identity which has been
given by him. Once again consciously claim these things for yourself.
Blessing prayer
Get together as the whole group and pray Korean style (all together) and bless the person to the left of
you in his/her identity in God.
Get Deeper


Tip: Do you already have something like a prayer diary to write down your prayers, impressions
from God and miracles?
In the message the armour of God was also dealt with. You can read and ponder on Ephesians
6:11-17.
