An important person in the racing driver's career of Michael Schumacher was
Jürgen Dilk, a friend of the family. Dilk was a true fan and sponsor of Michael’s
talent. Today he lives in a chalet near Torrevieja.
r finanzierte Michael die Rennen und kaufte ihm einen neuen Kart. Als
Gegenleistung erwartete Jürgen Dilk als einziges, dass Michael die Rennen gewann und Pokale nach Hause brachte. Er sponserte und managte den jungen
Schumi seit seinen Go–Karttagen bis in die Formel Ford 1600, wo er 1988 rund 25`000
Mark auf den Tisch blätterte, damit Michael in zehn Rennen starten durfte. Die Familie Dilk
begleitete aber auch den jungen Michael von Rennen zu Rennen, von England bis Spanien, Frankreich und Belgien. In einem amerikanischen Wohnmobil mit zwei Schlafzimmern, Küche und Dusche reisten sie von Rennplatz zu Rennplatz in Europa. Ohne
Herrn Dilks finanzielle Hilfe hätte Michael Schumacher den Sprung in die Rennwagenkategorie niemals geschafft.
„Ich wurde so etwas wie ein Ersatzvater für ihn“, erinnert
sich der heute 65-Jährige. Dilk paukte für den Schulabschluss mit Michael Mathe und Deutsch und kochte.
Dem ehemalige Automatenaufsteller, der als Entdecker
von Michael Schumacher gilt, verbindet bis heute eine
innige Freundschaft zu Michael.
He financed Michael's running and bought him a new
Kart. In return, the only thing Jürgen Dilk expected was
that Michael won the running and brought trophies
home. He sponsored and managed the young
Schumacher since his Go-Kart days until the formula Ford
1600 where he shelled out in 1988 about 25,000 DM on the
table, for Michael to start in ten Races. The Dilk family also
accompanied young Michael from race to race, from
England to Spain, France and Belgium. In an American
camper with two bedrooms kitchen and shower they
travelled from racecourse to racecourse in Europe. Without the financial help of Mr
Dilk, Michael Schumacher would have never been jump in the racer category.
„I became a sort of a spare father for him“, remembers the 65-year-old today. Dilk
played the timpani for the school end with Michael Math and German and it
worked.
The former Machines Practitioners which is known as the discoverer of Michael
Schumacher still have today a close and unique friendship with Michael.
