L’Union européenne de gymnastique (UEG) – une organisation
moderne, tournée vers l’avenir
46 fédérations nationales sont réunies
sous le toit de l’UEG, une organisation
sportive qui dépasse largement les
frontières de l’Europe politique et qui
porte en elle la pensée des nations gymniques réunies. En sa qualité de représentante des intérêts des fédérations qui lui
sont affiliées, l’UEG réunit les différents
courants de la gymnastique européenne.

européens !
La gymnastique en Europe ne s’imagine
pas sans son mouvement de sport de
masse. Les philantropes ne furent pas les
seuls, au fil de l’histoire de la gymnastique, à exiger des objectifs plus élevés
que la simple école du corps. La gymnastique, vue sous l’angle de l’idée olympique et au-delà de son aspect purement
sportif, se veut également impliquée
dans la formation et la réalisation d’objectifs humains, instigatrice d’un comportement social et porteuse d’une responsabilité pédagogique.
Le mouvement gymnique européen se
tourne résolument vers un modernisme
contemporain, car il ne se considère pas
seulement comme un instrument de
performance et de compétition. Les gymnastes d’Europe sont à la fois la preuve et
l’exemple qu’il est possible de cohabiter
par-dessus les frontières. Dans l’univers
du sport, quelle est la discipline qui offre
autant d’activités pour jeunes et moins
jeunes? Dans aucun autre sport on ne
rencontre, outre les compétitions traditionelles, autant d’événements de grande
envergure tels que la Gymnaestrada
mondiale et autre fêtes, festivals ou galas
de gymnastique, qui réunissent des
centaines de milliers de sportifs actifs.

Europas Turnern kein Widerspruch!
Turnen in Europa ist ohne Breitensportbewegung nicht denkbar. Nicht nur die
Philantropen forderten in der geschichtlichen Entwicklung des Turnens weit
höhere Ziele, als nur die der körperlichen
Ertüchtigung. Turnen im Sinne der Olympischen Idee diente damals und dient
heute neben der sportlichen Betätigung
der Schulung und Ausbildung humaner
Ziele, sozialer Verhaltensweisen und
pädagogischer Verantwortung.
Die europäische Turnbewegung ist gerade deshalb modern und zeitgemäß, weil
in ihr mehr steckt als nur Leistung und
Wettkampf. Europäische Turner vermitteln ihr Verständnis des Miteinander über
die Grenzen hinaus und leben es in der
Gemeinschaft vor. Wo sonst in der Welt
des Sportes gibt es solche Angebotsfülle
für jung und alt? In keiner anderen
Sportart werden neben dem Wettkampf
regelmäßig Sportgroßveranstaltungen
wie Turnfeste, Galas und Weltgymnaestraden organisiert, die Hunderttausende
von aktiven Sportlern zusammenbringen.

GRS ont la valeur d’un championnat du monde ou d’une
finale olympique, car les meilleures gymnastes du monde
proviennent sans exception
des pays européens.
Les Masters européens
de gymnastique
L’UEG considére que la création
de nouvelles compétitions
intéressantes aussi bien pour les
spectateurs que pour les médias
est une de ses tâches essentielles.
Les Masters européens de gymnastique (European Gymnastics
Masters - EGM) sont organisés
depuis 1997 dans les années

EUROGYM – le festival
de la jeunesse
Tous les quatre ans, l’UEG met
sur pied un festival de la jeunesse qui ne comporte pas de
compétition. Sont invités les
jeunes gymnastes, garçons et
filles, de toutes les fédérations
membres de l’UEG. Ces gymnastes sont considérés comme
les ambassadeurs de la jeunesse
gymnique européenne.

EUROTEAM – le concours
pour les sociétés et les clubs
L’UEG organise chaque deux
ans, depuis 1996, un concours
européen de gymnastique
générale destiné aux sociétés
et clubs de gymnastique de
ses fédérations nationales.
EUROTEAM est un concours
par équipe comportant trois
disciplines: un exercice d’ensemble au sol, un programme
de saut au minitrampoline et
le tumbling.

Europameisterschaften
der Rhythmischen Sportgymnastik
Im Wechsel finden alljährlich
die RSG-Europameisterschaften im Einzelwettbewerb
oder im Gruppenwettkampf,
gemeinsam mit den 16 besten
Sportgymnastinnen des Vorjahres, statt. Man kann diese
Europameisterschaften von
der Bedeutung gleichsetzen
mit den Weltmeisterschaften
und dem RSG-Endkampf der
Olympischen Spiele, denn ausnahmslos die besten Sportgymnastinnen der Welt sind in
Europa beheimatet.
European Gymnastics
Masters
Neue, für Zuschauer und
Medien gleichermaßen interessante Wettkämpfe wie die
European Gymnastics Masters
ins Leben zu rufen, ist eine
der Hauptaufgaben der UEG.
Die Masters werden ab 1997
regelmäßig in den ungeraden
Jahren veranstaltet. Am
Start sind die besten 12 Turnnationen Europas, die einen
Mannschaftswettkampf in
den Disziplinen Kunstturnen
Männer, Kunstturnen Frauen
und Rhythmischer Sportgymnastik durchführen. Die
European Gymnastics Masters
zählen mit zu den höchstdotierten Preisgeldturnieren
des Turnsportes.
Europameisterschaften
in der Sportaerobic
Die Sportaerobic ist ab 1999
neu im Wettkampfprogramm
der UEG. Durch die Aufnahme
der Sportaerobic in den Wettkampfkalender trägt die
UEG dem Wunsch der Turnverbände Rechnung, mit den
Europameisterschaften den
Vormarsch der Aerobic weiter
zu forcieren.

EUROTEAM – Meisterschaften für Vereine und
Clubs
Als europäischer Dachverband
richtet die UEG seit 1996
alle zwei Jahre eine Finalveranstaltung, als Wettkampf
für Vereine im Allgemeinen
Turnen aus. EUROTEAM
ist ein eigenständiger Mannschafts-Wettbewerb mit
Gruppenwettkämpfen in den
Disziplinen Boden, Trampette
(Sprung/Minitramp) und
Tumbling.
EUROTEAM-Wettkämpfe,
die besonders im Skandinavischen Raum sehr populär
sind, erfreuen sich wachsender Beliebtheit und steigendem Interesse in den übrigen
UEG-Mitgliedsverbänden.
EUROGYM – Jugendfestivals
Alle vier Jahre organisiert die
UEG ein europäisches Jugendfestival zu dem alle Mitgliedsverbände eingeladen sind,
ihre jungen Turnerinnen und
Turner als Botschafter der
jungen europäischen Turnbewegung zu entsenden.
Eine Woche lang treffen sich
Jugendliche zum Sport- und
Kulturaustausch, bei Mitmachangeboten, gemeinsamen
Abenden die selbst gestaltet
werden und zu einer FestivalGala, bei der sich die Jugendgruppen präsentieren.

Every even year, the UEG holds
the European Championships
in artistic gymnastics. These are
always one of the peaks of the
competition year and define
the position of the athletes.
European Championships in
Rhythmic Sports Gymnastics
Every year in alteration, the
RSG European Championships
take place for individual and
group competitions, together
with the 16 best female sports
gymnasts. The importance of
these European Championships
can be compared to the World
Championships and the RSG
Final of the Olympic Games as,
without exception, the best
female sports gymnasts in the
world all live in Europe.
European Gymnastics
Masters
To set up new competitions
which are interesting for both
spectators and the media like
the European Gymnastics
Masters, is one of the main
tasks of the UEG. The Masters
takes place every odd year
and started in 1997. The
12 best gymnastics nations in
Europe take part in a men’s
artistic gymnastics, women’s
artistic gymnastics and a
rhythmic sports gymnastics
competition. The European
Gymnastics Masters is one of
the competitions which has
the highest prize money
allocated to it in gymnastics.
European Championships
in Sports Aerobics
Sports aerobics will be new to
the UEG competition programme from 1999. With this
new edition to the competition calendar, the UEG
fulfils the wish of the gymnastics federations to further
develop aerobics through
the European Championships.
EUROTEAM – Championships for Associations and
Clubs
As the European umbrella
federation, the UEG has organized every two years since
1996 a final in the form of
a competition for associations
and clubs in General Gymnastics. EUROTEAM is an independent team competition
with group competitions in
floor programme, trampette
(jump/minitramp) and
tumbling.
EUROTEAM – the popularity
of these competitions which is
big in Scandinavia, is growing
and gaining more interest
in the other UEG member
federations.
EUROGYM – Youth Festivals
The UEG organizes a European
youth festival every four years
to which all member federations are invited to let their
young gymnasts participate as
ambassadors of the European
gymnastics youth movement.
The young people meet for
a week to take part in an exchange of sport and cultures,
through joining in sports
together, joint evenings which
are left to them to plan and a
festival gala in which the
youth groups present themselves.
