Benjamin: Que se passe-t-il avec le calendrier?
•
Charlotte: Nous n’avons plus la clé pour ouvrir le présentoir. Heureusement, Brouk a réussi à
l’ouvrir. On recommence donc à y afficher les activités mensuelle après les Fêtes.
•
Benjamin: Il y a plusieurs overlap avec le calendrier de la Faculté, comment on fait…? J’ai réussi
à avoir les flux d’informations sur le site, alors la version papier pourrait devenir inutile. Je te
montrerai.

Justine: Comment vont les inscriptions pour le chalet?
•
Andrée-Anne: Bien. Ca aura lieu, mais on va peut-être annuler un des chalet. Il y a aussi la
CADED et un chalet de 1L organisé, donc c’est un peu moins evident. En ce moment, on a assez
de gens pour remplir un des chalets et annuler le second avant Noël.

Benjamin: Devrait-on relancer l’invitation en décembre?
•
AA: C’est la période d’examens de tout le monde, je n’ai pas le temps. Le chalet des 1L change
vraiment quelque chose. C’est la première fois qu’on fait l’événement, alors c’est OK si c’est
moins de gens pour la première année. Je ferai aussi l’Invitation à l’événement chocolat chaud et
biscuits ce mercredi.

(3) FOR DISCUSSION: DÉSAFFILIATION DU SSMU // AFFILIATION AU PGSS.

VP: The idea came from Benjamin Dionne, who proprosed the possibility of the desafiliation to
SSMU and affiliate to PGSS. We have to thing: where we might fit best? We are currently paying
both associations (we pay $27 to PGSS for TH while the full membership is only $32 ). Here:
beginning of a discussion here that would have to go through the faculty.

Maryam: Can we be members of both? There are good services at ssmu – maybe some use
them, some don’t. I think however that SSMU are cutting services (?). A lot of people at PGSS
are jealous of what we have, like opportunity for daycare.

Michelle: Do we have access to healthcare?

VP: PGSS has one healthcare, there would be some coverage for sure. But we would
have to make further research, like the daycare service.

Lauren: What other benefits do we get from SSMU that we couldn’t have? What is strictly SSMU
stuff?
o
Valérie: Funds for clubs, student actitivties, daycare.
o
Benjamin: Legal Information Clinic of McGill is SSMU, midnight kitchen, help line for
sexual assault,…

VP: Beaucoup de ces services sont additionnels aux frais du SSMU… donc?

Benjamin: Fees for SSMU members.
Andrée-Anne: Peut-on demander de payer moins pour TH?

VP: Nous sommes en négociation avec PGSS, car 27$ c’est beaucoup!
AA: Peux-ton être membre des deux?

VP: Non je ne pense pas.

Sam: Plusieurs clubs utilisent des fonds du SSMU et les Ambassador Funds.
•
Benjamain: Il y aussi un certain sentiment d’appartenance, PGSS affiliate member (tout ce
qu’offre PGSS sauf le droit de vote. Est-ce que ce qu’ils nous offrent match avec nos besoins?),

Maryam: Les undergrad ne sont pas bienvenus dans certains services du PGSS, qui est en train
de changer…
•
Benjamin: En théorie, la diifference premier et deuxième cycle – McGill ne peut pas le faire sans
le gouvernement.
•
VP: Juste aux fins de l’appartenance à l’asso étudiante, pas de changer tout parce qu’il y a des
étudiants de cégep. On va devoir avoir des discussions avec McGill avant toute chose, mais je
voulais voir si c’était une possibilité intéressante
•
Benjamin: Pourquoi on n’est pas plus attaché au SSMU? Il y a des étudiants en droit qui s’y
impliquent en plus!
Peut-être que le LSA et le SSMU transmettent mal leur appurtenance?

Pourrait-on plus s’impliquer comme étudiants en droit? On devrait avoir des discussions plus
flexibles que celle de l’affiliation/désafiliation.
•
Maryam: Peut-on payer le 32$, sans être “membre” et voter, mais pour avoir les services? On
devrait bien sur voir si les services en vallent la peine en comparaison avec SSMU. Il y a une
orientation des parents/étudiants au PGSS, mais les services disaient que ce n’était pas
disponible pour les undergrad…

VP: Peut-être y aurait-il la possibilité d’avoir un frais plus raisonnable pour PGSS, mais un frais
plus grand pour ceux qui voudraient avoir tous les services.
•
Lauren: What if the TH access was optional? We could have stickers on our studend card?
•
VP: What I plan on doing: survey, pros and cons, start talking about it to the whole student body.
•
Maryam: We shouldn’t do a referendum though, it wouldn’t be fair for people who need a
daycare!
•
Nadir: We have to think also about the fact that if clubs can’t have the money from the SSMU
they wont be able to do the same kind of activities.
•
VP: On that point however, we could increase the LSA fee by cutting in the SSMU fee!
•
Lauren: Before opening the discussion we should get real numbers.
•
Romita: Connexion with McGill, some students could like to be able to participate in McGill clubs.
•
VP: Dans les faits cependant, les clubs de McGill ne sont pas en lien avec le SSMU.
Même si nous ne faisons pas partie de cette association, nous pourrions continuer d’être
membre de clubs de McGill.
•
AA: Les frosh de SSMU ne seraient plus accessibles, certains étudiants aiment le faire à la place
de droit.

Michelle: Pour le prochain meeting, il faudrait s’assurer de mentionner qu’il est primordial de se
présenter.

Benjamin: The Doodle is hard because we can not know if people’s answer are preferences or
availabilities. We should do like the faculty and set up all the moments. LSA councils should
come first.

Lauren: Meetings were supposed to be at night… we should have a calendar before January 7 .
Should we suspend the motion for next year, possibility?
•
VP: We should post on FB a survey and see what fits best during UB and then if nothing is
possible, we could do during nights
•
Lauren: Everyone is sacrificing something, une semaine sur deux.
•
Michelle: Ranking priorities over other, we shouldn’t put our private life out.
•
Maryam: It’s not priorities putting over other, it’s a motion.
•
Lauren: We should hold a proper GA, it was unfairly accepted… we should do it right next time.
We should do it in January.
Next meeting will have to be decided by a Doodle posted in the Council FB page.
