The symbol alerts the user to important instructions or
warnings.The specific meaning of the symbol is
determined by the design contained within the triangle. In
the case of the symbol at left, it is used for general

Unfortunately, it may be impossible to restore the contents of
data that was stored on a storage device (e.g., hard disk), or
other device, once it has been lost. Roland Corporation
assumes no liability concerning such loss of data.

buttons, sliders, or other controls; and when using its

For everyday cleaning wipe the unit with a soft, dry
cloth or one that has been slightly dampened with
water. To remove stubborn dirt, use a cloth

Afterwards, be sure to wipe the unit thoroughly with

Never use benzine, thinners, alcohol or solvents of any
kind, to avoid the possibility of discoloration and/or
deformation.

About this manual
This manual (HD-1 Drum Tutor Installation Guide) explains how to install and
set up HD-1 Drum Tutor, how to make connections, and what to do if you
experience problems.
* In this manual, menu items, command names, and parameters appearing in
a dialog box are printed in bold type.
* In this manual, steps in a procedure for selecting a menu item are divided by |
(vertical bar). For example, “Menu | Setup | Set up Audio/MIDI Devices” means
that you should choose a command named “Set up Audio/MIDI Devices” from
the “Setup” menu.
* In this manual, the operating systems Windows Vista and Windows XP are
referred to simply as Windows, unless there is a specific reason to distinguish
between them.
* If you are using Windows for the first time, or do not understand the
explanations, refer to the documentation that came with your computer or with
Windows.
* For details on how to use the software, refer to the help (p. 12).

Contents of the Package
The HD-1 Drum Tutor includes the following items. When you open the package, first make
sure that all items are included. If any are missing, contact the dealer where you purchased
the HD-1 Drum Tutor.
CD-ROM “HD-1 Drum Tutor Software”
This contains software for use with the HD-1 Drum
Tutor.
USB MIDI Interface UM-1G
Audio Cable
Use this to connect your computer’s audio output to
the HD-1’s MIX IN.
Cable Tie
Use this to fasten the MIDI OUT cable to the HD-1’s
stand.
Install Guide
This is the manual you are reading. Please keep it on
hand for reference.

Installing the Software
Connecting the MIDI device (UM-1G)
Here’s how to connect the MIDI device (UM-1G) to your computer.
1. Start up Windows without the UM-1G connected.
Disconnect all USB cables other than those for a USB keyboard and/or USB mouse (if used).
2. Log on as a user who has administrative privileges.
3. Close all currently running software.
Close all open windows. If you’re using anti-virus or similar software, be sure to close those
programs as well.
4. Turn the UM-1G’s [ADVANCED DRIVER] switch OFF.

5. Turn the UM-1G’s [MIDI THRU] switch OFF.

6. Connect the UM-1G to your computer.
The UM-1G will be detected automatically, and the standard driver will be installed.
When the taskbar indicates “The device is ready to use” or “Your new hardware has been
installed and is ready to use,” the process has been completed.

Installing HD-1 Drum Tutor
Here’s how to install HD-1 Drum Tutor in your computer.
Check before installation
When installing, log on as a user with administrative privileges
HD-1 Drum Tutor must be installed by a user who has administrative privileges. Once
installed, it can also be used by users who do not have administrative privileges.
Close any system-monitoring software before installing
If system-monitoring software such as anti-virus programs are installed on your computer,
you must shut down all such software until you have finished installing HD-1 Drum Tutor.
You must also remember to shut down applications that might not be shown in the Windows
taskbar.
Installing
* In order to install this software, you must log on as a user who has administrative
privileges.
* You must close all currently running software. You must also close all open windows. Be
sure to close any anti-virus or system monitoring software as well.
1. Insert the included HD-1 Drum Tutor CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
2. On the CD-ROM, navigate to the HD-1 Drum Tutor folder and double-click the
Setup.exe icon.
3. Install the software by following the directions that appear on screen.
* If a User Account Control confirmation screen appears, click [Continue].

4. Use the included cable tie to fasten the UM-1G’s MIDI OUT cable to the HD-1’s stand.

If you experience problems, read this chapter first. It contains tips for solving most problems.
* For details on operating your Windows or Macintosh computer, refer to the owner’s manual of
the computer and operating system you are using.
Problems Related to Installation
Cannot install the HD-1 Drum Tutor
Install the UM-1G driver once again as described in “Installing the Software” (p. 8).
Is the CD-ROM correctly inserted into your CD-ROM drive?
Make sure that the CD-ROM is correctly inserted into your CD-ROM drive.
Is the CD-ROM or the lens of the CD-ROM drive dirty?
If the CD-ROM or the lens of the CD-ROM drive is dirty, the installer may not work correctly.
Clean the disc and/or lens using a commercially-available CD cleaner or lens cleaner.
With what user privileges did you log on to Windows?
You must log on to Windows as one of the following types of user.
• A user belonging to the Administrators group, such as Administrator
• A user whose account type is Computer Administrator
* For more information, consult the system administrator of your computer.
Are you attempting to install from a networked CD-ROM drive?
You cannot install from a networked CD-ROM drive.
Is there sufficient free space on your hard disk?
Ensure that there is at least 25MB of free space.
Is the UM-1G connected correctly?
Make sure that the USB connector of your computer is connected to the UM-1G.
Could any other USB device be connected?
Before you install, disconnect all USB devices except for your mouse and keyboard.
Could other software or resident software (such as antivirus programs) be running?
Installation may not be successful if other programs are running.
Be sure to close all other programs before installation.

Troubleshooting
Does your computer or USB hub have sufficient power supply capacity?
The UM-1G cannot be connected if insufficient power is supplied to it. Check whether one of
the following cases apply.
• If you are using the UM-1G with a notebook computer that is running on its battery,
operation may be unreliable with some models of computer. If this is the case, connect the
AC adaptor to your notebook computer.
• The power conservation mode of your computer may limit the power that is supplied to
USB. Check the settings of your computer.
• In some cases, the UM-1G cannot be used with a bus-powered hub (a hub that does not
contain a power supply). Please use a self-powered hub (a hub that contains a power
supply).
Problems with Starting Up
Can’t start up
Could numerous applications be running?
It may be that there is not enough memory for another application to start up. Close other
applications before starting up another application. If an error still appears, try restarting
Windows.
Could other software or resident software (such as antivirus programs) be running?
If other software is running, the application may not start up correctly. Try closing the other
software before you use the application.
An “Unknown DLL error” or “Linked to faulty export” error is displayed
HD-1 Drum Tutor is not installed correctly.
Uninstall HD-1 Drum Tutor as described in “Removing HD-1 Drum Tutor” (p. 18), and then
install the driver once again as described in “Installing the Software” (p. 8).
Problems When Using the DT-HD1
No sound
Is the power on?
Check the power switches of your speakers or playback system, and of your sound module.

Are the volume knobs raised?
Check the volume knobs of your speakers or playback system, and of your sound module.
Could the volume control fader be lowered?
If a mixer utility was included with the sound card you’re using, check the mixer utility and
make sure that the playback volume is raised sufficiently.
To start up the mixer utility, move the mouse pointer to the volume icon shown in the
Windows taskbar and double-click.
If there is no volume icon shown in the taskbar, proceed as follows.
Windows Vista:
From the Windows Start menu, choose Control Panel | Hardware and Sound | Sound |
Adjust system volume to start up the Volume Mixer.
Windows XP:
From the Windows Start menu, choose All Programs | Accessories | Entertainment |
Volume Control.
Is the driver of the audio device installed correctly?
Make sure that the audio device driver is installed correctly.
Sound is interrupted during playback
Change the output destination audio setting.
1. Choose the Menu item Setup | Set Up Audio/MIDI Devices .
2. Change the output destination.
• Change the Audio Driver Type (default: Windows Direct Sound).
• Change the Audio Output Device (default: Primary sound driver).
Can’t load a song
Have you specified a Standard MIDI File that can be loaded?
Make sure that the Standard MIDI File you specified meets the following conditions.
• Format: 0 or 1
• Number of measures: 999 or fewer
• Number of events: 99,999 or fewer
• Resolution: 24 TPQN or higher

Troubleshooting
Some notes are not shown in the drum notation or game screen
Could you be using notes that cannot be shown in the notation?
Notes (note numbers) that cannot be played on the HD-1 are not shown in the drum notation
or game screen. Notes with velocity values below 20 or notes created on a MIDI channel other
than channel 10 will not be shown either.
Some drum notes are not sounded when you turn on the drum part’s SOLO
setting
Could you be using notes that do not support SOLO?
Solo is not supported for notes (note numbers) that cannot be played on the HD-1 or for
drum parts whose MIDI channel is not channel 10.
Some drum notes continue sounding even if you turn on MINUS ONE
Could you be using notes that are not supported by MINUS ONE?
Minus One does not support notes (note numbers) that cannot be played on the HD-1 or
drum parts whose MIDI channel is other than 10.
HD-1 Drum Tutor does not show a “o” symbol in the drum notation screen in
accordance with your drumming
Depending on the type of audio device you are using, the assessment made regarding the
timing of the performance can sometimes be delayed (or hastened). In such cases, please
adjust the value of “Audio Latency” using the following procedure:
1. Choose the menu item Setup | Set Up Audio/MIDI Devices.
2. Adjust the value of the correction using Audio Latency Adjust.
The value should be increased in the positive direction when the timing assessment is
delayed, and moved toward the negative direction if it is too fast.
HD-1 Drum Tutor does not respond when you strike the HD-1
Did you install the MIDI driver using the correct procedure?
Reinstall the UM-1G driver (the standard driver) using the procedure described in

Could the UM-1G’s ADVANCE (mode select) switch be turned ON?
Set the UM-1G’s [ADVANCED DRIVER] (mode select) switch to the OFF position, and reconnect
the UM-1G. Then reinstall the UM-1G driver (standard driver) as described in “Connecting the
MIDI device (UM-1G)” (p. 8).
Is the UM-1G connected correctly?
Make sure that the UM-1G is connected to your computer’s USB connector.
Could you have mistaken the MIDI IN and OUT cables?
Check the MIDI cable connections.
Are your computer’s power conservation settings turned off?
If power conservation or power management functions are active on your computer, disable
them. For details on how to do this, refer to your computer’s documentation.
Is the your computer’s USB compatible?
Refer to your computer’s documentation, and check to be sure that its USB specifications are
compatible.
Does your computer or USB hub have sufficient power supply capacity?
The UM-1G cannot be connected if insufficient power is supplied to it. Check whether one of
the following cases apply.
• If you are using the UM-1G with a notebook computer that is running on its battery,
operation may be unreliable with some models of computer. If this is the case, connect the
AC adaptor to your notebook computer.
• The power conservation mode of your computer may limit the power that is supplied to
USB. Check the settings of your computer.
• In some cases, the UM-1G cannot be used with a bus-powered hub (a hub that does not
contain a power supply). Please use a self-powered hub (a hub that contains a power
supply).
Does your computer meet the requirements for USB?
If your computer does not meet the requirements of the USB specification, operation may be
unstable. If so, you may be able to solve the problem by connecting a USB hub that contains
a power supply.
External MIDI sound module does not sound
Are the connections and settings of your external MIDI sound module correct?
Check that the connections and settings of your external MIDI sound module are correct (p. 19).

Are the audio/MIDI device settings correct?
Check the audio/MIDI device settings and volume.
Removing HD-1 Drum Tutor
1. Start up Windows with the UM-1G disconnected.
Leave all USB cables disconnected, except those for a USB keyboard and USB mouse.
Log on as a user whose account type is a computer administrator (e.g., Administrator).
2. Click the Windows Start button, and then click Control Panel.
3. Click Uninstall a program (in Windows XP, Add or Remove Programs).
4. In the list of programs, click HD-1 Drum Tutor.
5. Click Uninstall (in Windows XP, click Remove) to uninstall HD-1 Drum Tutor.
* If a User Account Control confirmation screen appears, click [Continue].
6. A message will indicate “Uninstall Complete.” Click [Finish] to restart Windows.

performance with higher-quality sound.

Diese Anleitung (Installationsanleitung für HD-1 Drum Tutor) erklärt, wie HD-1
Drum Tutor installiert und eingerichtet wird, wie Sie die erforderlichen
Verbindungen herstellen, und was Sie im Fall von Problemen tun können.
* In dieser Anleitung sind Menüeinträge, Befehlsnamen und
Parameterbezeichnungen in Dialogfeldern fett gedruckt.
* In dieser Anleitung sind die Schritte bei Menüauswahlvorgängen durch |
(einen vertikalen Balken) getrennt. „Menü | Setup | Set up Audio/MIDI
Devices“ bedeutet z. B., dass Sie einen Befehl namens „Set up Audio/MIDI
Devices“ aus dem Menü „Setup“ auswählen sollen.
* In dieser Anleitung werden die Betriebssysteme Windows Vista und Windows

Diese enthält Software für die Verwendung mit dem
HD-1 Drum Tutor.
USB-MIDI-Interface UM-1G
Audiokabel
Verwenden Sie dies, um den analogen Audioausgang
des Computers mit dem MIX IN des HD-1 zu verbinden.
Kabelbinder
Verwenden Sie diesen, um das MIDI-OUT-Kabel am
Stativ des HD-1 zu befestigen.
Dies ist das vorliegende Dokument. Bitte bewahren

Software installieren
Anschließen des MIDI-Geräts (UM-1G)
So schließen Sie das MIDI-Gerät (UM-1G) an Ihrem Computer an.
1. Starten Sie Windows, ohne das UM-1G angeschlossen zu haben.
Ziehen Sie außer USB-Tastatur und/oder USB-Maus (falls verwendet) alle USB-Kabel von Ihrem
Computer ab.
2. Loggen Sie sich als Benutzer mit Administratorrechten ein.
3. Beenden Sie jegliche aktive Software.
Schließen Sie alle geöffneten Fenster. Wenn Sie Antiviren-Software o. ä. verwenden, schließen
Sie solche Programme ebenfalls.
4. Schalten Sie den [ADVANCED DRIVER]-Schalter am UM-1G aus (OFF).

5. Schalten Sie den Schalter [MIDI THRU] am UM-1G aus (OFF).

6. Schließen Sie das UM-1G an Ihrem Computer an.
Das UM-1G wird automatisch erkannt, und der Standardtreiber wird installiert.
Wenn die Taskleiste anzeigt „Das Gerät ist betriebsbereit.“ oder „Die neue Hardware
wurde installiert und ist betriebsbereit.“, ist der Vorgang abgeschlossen.

So installieren Sie HD-1 Drum Tutor auf Ihrem Computer.
Vor der Installation prüfen
Loggen Sie sich für die Installation als Benutzer mit Administratorrechten ein
Der HD-1 Drum Tutor muss von einem Benutzer mit Administratorrechten installiert werden.
Nach der Installation kann die Software auch von Benutzern ohne Administratorrechte
verwendet werden.
Schließen Sie vor der Installation jegliche Software zur Systemüberwachung
Wenn eine Software zur Systemüberwachung wie Antivirusprogramme auf Ihrem Computer
installiert ist, müssen Sie diese Software schließen, bis Sie die Installation von HD-1 Drum
Tutor abgeschlossen haben.
Denken Sie auch daran, Anwendungen zu schließen, die evtl. nicht in der Windows-Taskleiste
angezeigt werden.
Installieren
* Um diese Software zu installieren, müssen Sie sich bei Windows unter einem
Benutzerkonto mit Administratorrechten anmelden.
* Beenden Sie jegliche aktive Software. Schließen Sie alle geöffneten Fenster. Achten Sie
auch darauf, jegliche Antivirus- oder Systemüberwachungs-Software zu schließen.
1. Legen Sie die mitgelieferte HD-1 Drum Tutor CD-ROM in Ihr CD-ROM-Laufwerk ein.
2. Navigieren Sie auf der CD-ROM zum Ordner HD-1 Drum Tutor und klicken Sie
doppelt auf das Symbol Setup.exe.
3. Installieren Sie die Software, indem Sie den Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm folgen.
* Falls ein Benutzerkontensteuerungs-Fenster erscheint, klicken Sie auf [Fortsetzen].

Probleme bei der Installation
Der HD-1 Drum Tutor lässt sich nicht installieren
Installieren Sie den Treiber des UM-1G erneut, wie unter „Software installieren“ (S. 8) beschrieben.
Ist die CD-ROM richtig im CD-ROM-Laufwerk eingelegt?
Achten Sie darauf, dass die CD-ROM richtig im CD-ROM-Laufwerk eingelegt ist.
Ist die CD-ROM oder die Linse des CD-ROM-Laufwerks verschmutzt?
Falls die CD-ROM oder die Linse des CD-ROM-Laufwerks verschmutzt ist, funktioniert das
Installationsprogramm eventuell nicht richtig. Reinigen Sie die Disc und/oder die Linse mit
einem handelsüblichen CD- oder Linsenreiniger.
Mit welchen Rechten haben Sie sich bei Windows angemeldet?
Sie müssen sich bei Windows mit einem der folgenden Benutzertypen anmelden.
• Ein Benutzer der Administrator-Gruppe (z. B. Administrator)
• Ein Benutzer, dessen Kontotyp „Computeradministrator“ ist
* Nähere Informationen erhalten Sie beim Systemadministrator Ihres Computers.
Versuchen Sie, von einem CD-ROM-Laufwerk im Netzwerk zu installieren?
Sie können nicht von einem CD-ROM-Laufwerk im Netzwerk installieren.
Ist genügend freier Platz auf Ihrer Festplatte vorhanden?
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass mindestens 25 MB freier Platz vorhanden sind.
Ist das UM-1G richtig angeschlossen?
Stellen Sie sicher, dass der USB-Anschluss Ihres Computers mit dem UM-1G verbunden ist.
Ist möglicherweise ein anderes USB-Gerät angeschlossen?
Bevor Sie installieren, trennen Sie alle USB-Geräte außer Maus und Tastatur vom Computer.

Fehlerbehebung
Läuft möglicherweise eine andere Software oder ein Hintergrundprogramm
(beispielsweise Anti-Viren-Programme)?
Die Installation ist eventuell nicht erfolgreich, wenn andere Programme laufen.
Achten Sie darauf, vor der Installation sämtliche anderen Programme zu beenden.
Stellt Ihr Computer bzw. der USB-Hub ausreichend Leistung zur Verfügung?
Das UM-1G kann nicht angeschlossen werden, wenn nicht ausreichend Leistung bereitsteht.
Überprüfen Sie, ob folgende Bedingungen vorliegen.
• Wenn Sie das UM-1G mit einem batteriebetriebenen Notebook-Computer verwenden,
kann bei einigen Computermodellen der Betrieb instabil sein. Wenn dies der Fall ist,
schließen Sie das Netzteil des Computers an.
• Die Einstellungen der Energiesparoptionen des Computers schränken u. U. die am USBAnschluss verfügbare Leistung ein. Prüfen Sie die Einstellungen Ihres Computers.
• In einigen Fällen kann das UM-1G nicht mit einem bus-betriebenen Hub (einem Hub ohne
eigene Stromversorgung) verwendet werden. Verwenden Sie einen USB-Hub mit eigener
Stromversorgung.
Probleme beim Starten
Es ist nicht möglich, das Programm zu starten.
Kann es sein, dass mehrere Anwendungen laufen?
Es kann sein, dass nicht genügend Speicher für den Start einer anderen Anwendung zur
Verfügung steht. Schließen Sie andere Anwendungen, bevor Sie ein anderes Programm
starten. Wenn der Fehler weiterhin besteht, starten Sie Windows neu.
Läuft möglicherweise eine andere Software oder ein Hintergrundprogramm
(beispielsweise Anti-Viren-Programme)?

Prüfen Sie die Einstellungen der Lautstärkeregler Ihrer Aktivlautsprecher/Audioanlage sowie
Ihres Klangerzeugers.
Ist der Lautstärke-Schieberegler evtl. ganz nach unten geschoben?
Wenn zu der verwendeten Sound-Karte eine Mixer-Software gehört, prüfen Sie das
Dienstprogramm Ihres Computers und stellen Sie sicher, dass die Wiedergabelautstärke
hinreichend hoch eingestellt ist.
Um das Mixer-Dienstprogramm zu starten, bewegen Sie den Mauszeiger auf das
Lautstärkesymbol in der Windows-Taskleiste und doppelklicken Sie darauf.
Wenn kein Lautstärkesymbol in der Windows-Taskleiste angezeigt wird, gehen Sie wie folgt vor.
Windows Vista:
Wählen Sie aus dem Start-Menü Systemsteuerung | Hardware und Sound | Sound |

• Wenn Sie das UM-1G mit einem batteriebetriebenen Notebook-Computer verwenden,
kann bei einigen Computermodellen der Betrieb instabil sein. Wenn dies der Fall ist,
schließen Sie das Netzteil des Computers an.
• Die Einstellungen der Energiesparoptionen des Computers schränken u. U. die am USBAnschluss verfügbare Leistung ein. Prüfen Sie die Einstellungen Ihres Computers.
• In einigen Fällen kann das UM-1G nicht mit einem bus-betriebenen Hub (einem Hub ohne
eigene Stromversorgung) verwendet werden. Verwenden Sie einen USB-Hub mit eigener
Stromversorgung.
Erfüllt Ihr Computer die Anforderungen der USB-Spezifikationen?

Verwenden des HD-1 Drum Tutor
1. Starten Sie Windows, ohne das UM-1G angeschlossen zu haben.
Schließen Sie außer USB-Tastatur und/oder USB-Maus (falls verwendet) keine USB-Kabel
an Ihrem Computer an.
Melden Sie sich als Benutzer des Typs Administrator an (z. B. „Administrator“).
2. Öffnen Sie unter Windows im Menü „Start“ die Option „Systemsteuerung“.
3. Klicken Sie auf Programm deinstallieren (in Windows XP Programme hinzufügen oder
entfernen).
4. Klicken Sie in der Liste der Programme auf HD-1 Drum Tutor.
5. Klicken Sie auf Deinstallieren (in Windows XP klicken Sie auf Entfernen), um HD-1 Drum

Voici comment connecter l'interface MIDI (UM-1G) à l’ordinateur.
1. Démarrez Windows avant de connecter la UM-1G.
Débranchez tous les câbles USB à l’exception des câbles clavier et souris, le cas échéant.

Voici comment installer le logiciel « HD-1 Drum Tutor » sur votre ordinateur.
Préparatifs
Pour l’installation, connectez-vous à Windows via un compte utilisateur de type
administrateur.
HD-1 Drum Tutor doit être installé par un utilisateur disposant des droits d’administrateur.
Une fois installé, le logiciel peut être utilisé par les utilisateurs ne disposant pas des droits
d’administrateur.
Fermez tous les logiciels de surveillance du système avant l’installation.
Si des logiciels de ce type, par exemple des programmes anti-virus, sont installés sur votre
ordinateur, vous devez les arrêter jusqu’à ce que vous ayez terminé l’installation de « HD-1
Drum Tutor ».
Pensez également à arrêter les applications qui pourraient ne pas être visibles dans la barre
des tâches Windows.
Installation
* Pour installer ce logiciel, vous devez vous connecter via un compte utilisateur de type
administrateur.
* Fermez tous les logiciels en cours d’exécution. Fermez également toutes les fenêtres

Le CD-ROM est-il correctement inséré dans le lecteur ?
Assurez-vous que le CD-ROM est correctement inséré dans le lecteur.
Le CD-ROM ou la lentille du lecteur de CD-ROM sont-ils sales ?
Si le CD-ROM ou la lentille du lecteur de CD-ROM sont sales, il est possible que le programme
d’installation ne fonctionne pas correctement. Nettoyez le disque et/ou la lentille à l’aide d’un
nettoyant pour CD ou lentille disponible dans le commerce.
Vous êtes-vous connecté à Windows en tant qu’utilisateur doté des droits appropriés ?
Vous devez vous connecter à Windows en utilisant l’un des types de compte suivants :

D'autres logiciels tournent-ils en arrière-plan (antivirus, etc.) ?
L'installation peut ne pas se passer correctement si d'autres programmes s’exécutent
en même temps.
Vérifiez que tous les autres programmes sont fermés avant de lancer l'installation.
La capacité de l’alimentation de votre ordinateur ou concentrateur USB est-elle
suffisante ?
La UM-1G ne peut pas être connecté si la puissance est insuffisante. Vérifiez si les situations
suivantes s’appliquent.
• Si vous utilisez la UM-1G avec un ordinateur portable sur batterie, le fonctionnement peut
s’avérer instable sur certains ordinateurs. Dans ce cas, branchez l’ordinateur sur secteur
à l’aide de son adaptateur secteur.
• Les paramètres d’économie d’énergie de votre ordinateur limitent peut-être l’alimentation
fournie au connecteur USB. Vérifiez les paramètres de votre ordinateur.
• Dans certains cas, la UM-1G ne peut pas être utilisé avec un concentrateur alimenté par
bus (un concentrateur ne disposant pas d’une alimentation autonome). Utilisez un
concentrateur USB à alimentation autonome.
Problèmes au démarrage
Démarrage impossible
De nombreuses applications sont-elles en cours d’exécution ?
La mémoire n’est peut-être pas suffisante pour permettre le démarrage d’une autre
application. Fermez certaines applications avant de démarrer une nouvelle application.
Si l’erreur persiste, essayez de redémarrer Windows.
D'autres logiciels tournent-ils en arrière-plan (antivirus, etc.) ?
Si d'autres programmes s’exécutent en même temps, l’application peut ne pas démarrer
correctement. Essayez de fermer les autres logiciels avant d’utiliser l’application.
Une erreur « Unknown DLL » ou « Linked to faulty export » s’affiche
Le HD-1 Drum Tutor n’est pas installé correctement.
Désinstallez le HD-1 Drum Tutor comme décrit dans la section « Suppression du « HD-1 Drum
Tutor » » (p. 18), puis réinstallez-le en suivant les instructions de la section « Installation du
logiciel » (p. 8).

L’appareil n’émet aucun son
L’appareil est-il sous tension ?
Vérifiez les interrupteurs sur les enceintes ou le système de lecture audio, ainsi que sur
le module de son.
Les boutons du volume sont-ils correctement réglés ?
Vérifiez les boutons de volume sur les enceintes ou le système de lecture audio, ainsi que
sur le module de son.
Le curseur d’atténuation du volume a-t-il été baissé ?
Si un utilitaire de mixage est fourni avec la carte son que vous utilisez, vérifiez-le et assurezvous que le volume de lecture est suffisamment élevé.
Pour démarrer l’utilitaire de mixage, placez le pointeur de la souris sur l’icône de volume
apparaissant dans la barre des tâches Windows et double-cliquez.
Si la barre des tâches ne contient pas d’icône de volume, procédez comme suit.
Windows Vista :
Dans le menu Démarrer, sélectionnez Panneau de configuration | Matériel et audio | Son |
Ajuster le volume du système pour démarrer le Mélangeur de volume.
Windows XP :
Dans le menu Démarrer, sélectionnez Tous les programmes | Accessoires | Divertissement
| Contrôle du volume.
Le pilote du périphérique audio a-t-il été correctement installé ?
Assurez-vous que le pilote du périphérique audio est correctement installé.

Modifiez le paramètre de destination de la sortie audio.

Certaines notes n’apparaissent pas dans la notation de la batterie ou l’écran
de jeu
Utilisez-vous des notes qui ne peuvent être visibles dans la notation ?
Les notes (numéros de note) qui ne peuvent être jouées par le HD-1 n’apparaissent pas dans
la notation de la batterie ou l’écran de jeu. Les notes avec des valeurs de vélocité au-dessous
de 20 ou les notes créées sur un canal MIDI autre que le canal 10 n’apparaissent pas non plus.
Certaines notes de la batterie n’émettent pas de son si vous activez le
paramètre SOLO de la partie batterie
Utilisez-vous des notes qui ne sont pas compatibles avec le SOLO ?
Le solo n’est pas pris en charge pour les notes (numéros de note) qui ne peuvent être jouées
par le HD-1 ou pour les parties de la batterie dont le canal MIDI est autre que 10.
Certaines notes de la batterie continuent d’émettre un son même si vous
activez MINUS ONE
Utilisez-vous des notes qui ne sont pas compatibles avec MINUS ONE ?
La fonction Minus One ne prend pas en charge les notes (numéros de note) qui ne peuvent
être jouées par le HD-1 ou les parties de la batterie dont le canal MIDI est autre que 10.

Avez-vous installé le pilote MIDI en suivant la procédure appropriée ?
Réinstallez le pilote UM-1G (pilote standard) en utilisant la procédure décrite dans la section

Le sélecteur de mode [ADVANCED DRIVER] de la UM-1G est-il en position ON ?
Placez l’interrupteur [ADVANCED DRIVER] (sélection de mode) de la UM-1G en position OFF,

Nel presente manuale ( HD-1 Drum Tutor - Guida all'installazione) vengono
illustrate le procedure di installazione e configurazione di HD-1 Drum Tutor,
le modalità di collegamento e le operazioni da eseguire in caso di problemi.
* Nel presente manuale, le voci di menu, i nomi dei comandi e i parametri
visualizzati nelle finestre di dialogo sono riportati in grassetto.
* Inoltre, le varie fasi per la selezione dei menu sono divise da | (barra verticale).
Ad esempio, “Menu | Setup | Set up Audio/MIDI Devices” indica che l'utente
deve selezionare un comando denominato “Set up Audio/MIDI Devices” dal
menu “Setup”.

Installazione del software
Collegamento del dispositivo MIDI (UM-1G)
Di seguito viene descritto come collegare il dispositivo MIDI (UM-1G) al computer.
1. Avviare Windows senza che UM-1G sia collegato.
Scollegare tutti i cavi USB, tranne quelli della tastiera USB e/o del mouse USB (se utilizzato).
2. Accedere come utente con privilegi amministrativi.
3. Chiudere tutti i software attualmente in esecuzione.
Chiudere tutte le finestre aperte. Se vengono utilizzati software antivirus o simili, accertarsi
che siano chiusi.
4. Spegnere l'interruttore [ADVANCED DRIVER] di UM-1G (OFF).

6. Collegare UM-1G al computer.
Il dispositivo UM-1G sarà rilevato automaticamente e verrà installato il driver standard.
Quando nella barra delle applicazioni viene visualizzata l'indicazione “Il dispositivo è pronto
all'uso” o “Il nuovo hardware è stato installato ed è pronto all'uso”, il processo è stato
completato.

Di seguito viene descritto come installare HD-1 Drum Tutor sul computer.
Verifiche preliminari
Per eseguire l'installazione, accedere come utente con privilegi amministrativi
HD-1 Drum Tutor deve essere installato da un utente con privilegi amministrativi. Una volta
installato, può essere utilizzato anche da utenti che non dispongono dei privilegi amministrativi.
Prima di procedere con l'installazione, chiudere tutti i software di monitoraggio
del sistema
Se sul computer sono installati software di monitoraggio del sistema, quali programmi
antivirus, è necessario chiuderli fino al termine dell'installazione di HD-1 Drum Tutor.
Ricordare di chiudere anche le applicazioni che potrebbero non essere visualizzate nella
barra delle applicazioni di Windows.
Installazione
* Per installare questo software, è necessario accedere come utente con privilegi
amministrativi.
* Chiudere tutti i software attualmente in esecuzione. Chiudere anche tutte le finestre
aperte. Accertarsi di chiudere anche tutti i software antivirus o di monitoraggio del sistema.
1. Inserire il CD-ROM di HD-1 Drum Tutor nell'unità CD-ROM.
2. Dal CD-ROM, individuare la cartella HD-1 Drum Tutor e fare doppio clic sull'icona
Setup.exe.
3. Installare il software seguendo le indicazioni visualizzate sullo schermo.
* Se viene visualizzata una finestra di conferma relativa al controllo account utente,
fare clic su [Continua].

fare riferimento al Manuale dell'utente del computer e del sistema operativo utilizzati.
Problemi relativi all'installazione
Impossibile installare HD-1 Drum Tutor
Installare di nuovo il driver UM-1G come descritto in “Installazione del software” (pag. 8).
Il CD-ROM è inserito correttamente nell'unità CD-ROM?
Verificare che il CD-ROM sia inserito correttamente nell'unità CD-ROM.
Il CD-ROM e/o la lente dell'unità CD-ROM sono sporchi?
Se il CD-ROM e/o la lente dell'unità CD-ROM sono sporchi, è possibile che il programma
di installazione non funzioni correttamente. Pulire il disco e/o la lente utilizzando un prodotto
per la pulizia di CD o lenti disponibile in commercio.
Con quali privilegi utente è stato effettuato l'accesso a Windows?
È necessario accedere a Windows con uno dei seguenti tipi di account.
• Utente appartenente al gruppo Amministratori, ad esempio, Amministratore.
• Utente con tipo di account Amministratore del computer.
* Per ulteriori informazioni, rivolgersi all'amministratore di sistema del computer utilizzato.
Si sta tentando di eseguire l'installazione da un'unità CD-ROM collegata in rete?
Non è possibile eseguire l'installazione da un'unità CD-ROM collegata in rete.
Lo spazio disponibile sul disco rigido è sufficiente?
Verificare che siano disponibili almeno 25 MB.
UM-1G è collegato in modo corretto?
Verificare che il connettore USB del computer sia collegato a UM-1G.
È possibile che siano collegati altri dispositivi USB?
Prima di procedere con l'installazione, scollegare tutti i dispositivi USB, tranne mouse e tastiera.

È in funzione un altro software o un software residente (come un programma antivirus)?
L'installazione potrebbe non riuscire se sono in funzione altri programmi.
Accertarsi di chiudere tutti i programmi prima dell'installazione.
Il computer o l'hub USB è dotato di una capacità di alimentazione sufficiente?
Non è possibile collegare UM-1G se non viene alimentato sufficientemente. Verificare se uno
dei seguenti casi è applicabile.
• Se si utilizza UM-1G con un computer portatile alimentato a batterie, il funzionamento
potrebbe risultare instabile con alcuni modelli di computer. In tal caso, collegare
l'adattatore CA al computer portatile.
• La modalità di risparmio energetico del computer potrebbe limitare l'alimentazione fornita
all'USB. Verificare le impostazioni del computer.
• In alcuni casi, non è possibile utilizzare UM-1G con un hub alimentato tramite bus (un hub
senza alimentatore integrato). Utilizzare un hub con alimentazione autonoma (un hub con
un alimentatore integrato).
Problemi relativi all'avvio
Impossibile effettuare l'avvio
Sono in esecuzione numerose applicazioni?
È possibile che la memoria sia insufficiente per l'avvio di un'altra applicazione. Chiudere le altre
applicazioni prima di avviare un'altra applicazione. Se l'errore persiste, riavviare Windows.
È in funzione un altro software o un software residente (come un programma antivirus)?
Se viene eseguito un altro software, è possibile che l'applicazione non venga avviata
correttamente. Chiudere l'altro software prima di usare l'applicazione.
Viene visualizzato il messaggio “Errore DLL sconosciuta” (Unknown DLL error)
o “Collegato a esportazione errata” (Linked to faulty export)
HD-1 Drum Tutor non è installato correttamente.
Disinstallare HD-1 Drum Tutor come descritto in “Rimozione di HD-1 Drum Tutor” (pag. 18),
quindi installare di nuovo il driver come descritto in “Installazione del software” (pag. 8).

Audio assente
L'unità è accesa?
Verificare gli interruttori di accensione/spegnimento degli altoparlanti o del sistema
di riproduzione e del modulo audio.
Le manopole del volume sono alzate?
Verificare le manopole del volume degli altoparlanti o del sistema di riproduzione e del
modulo audio.
Il fader di controllo del volume è stato abbassato?
Se con la scheda audio utilizzata è inclusa un'utility del mixer, controllarla e verificare
che il volume di riproduzione sia sufficientemente alto.
Per avviare l'utility del mixer, spostare il puntatore del mouse sull'icona del volume
visualizzata nella barra delle applicazioni di Windows e fare doppio clic.
Se nella barra delle applicazioni non viene visualizzata l'icona del volume, attenersi alla
seguente procedura.
Windows Vista:
Dal menu Start, selezionare Pannello di controllo | Hardware e suoni | Suoni | Regola
il volume di sistema per avviare il Mixer volume.
Windows XP:
Dal menu Start, selezionare Tutti i programmi | Accessori | Svago | Controllo volume.
Il driver del dispositivo audio è installato correttamente?
Verificare che il driver del dispositivo audio sia installato correttamente.
Audio interrotto durante la riproduzione
Modificare l'impostazione della destinazione di uscita audio.
1. Selezionare la voce di menu Setup | Set Up Audio/MIDI Devices .
2. Modificare la destinazione di uscita.
• Modificare l'opzione Audio Driver Type (impostazione predefinita: Direct Sound Windows).
• Modificare l'opzione Audio Output Device (impostazione predefinita: Driver audio principale).

Impossibile caricare una canzone
È stato specificato un file MIDI standard caricabile?
Verificare che il file MIDI standard specificato sia conforme alle seguenti condizioni.
• Formato: 0 o 1
• Numero di misure: 999 o inferiore
• Numero di eventi: 99.999 o inferiore
• Risoluzione: 24 TPQN o superiore
Alcune note non vengono visualizzate nella schermata dello schema o della
notazione del tamburo
Vengono utilizzate note che non possono essere visualizzate nella notazione?
Le note (numeri di note) che non possono essere riprodotte su HD-1 non vengono visualizzate
nella schermata dello schema o della notazione del tamburo. Anche le note con velocità
inferiore a 20 o le note create su un canale MIDI diverso dal 10 non verranno visualizzate.
Alcune note del tamburo non vengono suonate quando viene attivata
l'impostazione SOLO della parte di tamburo
Vengono utilizzate note che non supportano l'impostazione SOLO?
L'impostazione SOLO non è supportata per le note (numeri di note) che non possono essere
riprodotte su HD-1 o per le parti di tamburo con canale MIDI diverso dal 10.
Alcune note del tamburo continuano a essere suonate anche se viene attivato
MINUS ONE
Vengono utilizzate note che non sono supportate da MINUS ONE?
MINUS ONE non supporta le note (numeri di note) che non possono essere riprodotte su HD-1
o le parti di tamburo con canale MIDI diverso dal 10.

Il driver MIDI è stato installato utilizzando la procedura corretta?
Reinstallare il driver UM-1G (driver standard) utilizzando la procedura descritta
in “Collegamento del dispositivo MIDI (UM-1G)” (pag. 8).
L'interruttore ADVANCE (selezione della modalità) di UM-1G è acceso (ON)?
Impostare l'interruttore [ADVANCED DRIVER] (selezione della modalità) di UM-1G su OFF
e ricollegare UM-1G. Quindi, reinstallare il driver UM-1G (driver standard) come descritto
in “Collegamento del dispositivo MIDI (UM-1G)” (pag. 8).
UM-1G è collegato in modo corretto?
Verificare che UM-1G sia collegato al connettore USB del computer.
I cavi MIDI IN e OUT sono stati invertiti?
Verificare il collegamento dei cavi MIDI.
Le impostazioni di risparmio energetico del computer sono disattivate?
Se le funzioni di risparmio energetico e di gestione dell'alimentazione sono attive sul
computer, disattivarle. Per informazioni dettagliate su questa procedura, fare riferimento
alla documentazione del computer.
L'USB del computer utilizzato è compatibile?
Consultare la documentazione del computer, quindi verificare che le specifiche USB siano
compatibili.
Il computer o l'hub USB è dotato di una capacità di alimentazione sufficiente?
Non è possibile collegare UM-1G se non viene alimentato sufficientemente. Verificare se uno
dei seguenti casi è applicabile.
• Se si utilizza UM-1G con un computer portatile alimentato a batterie, il funzionamento
potrebbe risultare instabile con alcuni modelli di computer. In tal caso, collegare
l'adattatore CA al computer portatile.
• La modalità di risparmio energetico del computer potrebbe limitare l'alimentazione fornita

Acerca de los símbolos

El presente manual (Guía de instalación de HD-1 Drum Tutor) explica cómo
instalar y configurar HD-1 Drum Tutor, cómo realizar las conexiones y qué

Conexión del dispositivo MIDI (UM-1G)
A continuación se explica el procedimiento del dispositivo MIDI (UM-1G) al ordenador.
1. Inicie Windows sin tener conectado el UM-1G.
Desconecte todos los cables USB, con la excepción de los del teclado y/o ratón (si procede).
2. Inicie la sesión como usuario con privilegios administrativos.
3. Cierre todas las aplicaciones de software que se estén ejecutando en ese momento.
Cierre todas las ventanas abiertas. Si utiliza un programa antivirus u otro software similar,
asegúrese de cerrarlos también.
4. Sitúe el interruptor [ADVANCED DRIVER] del UM-1G en la posición OFF.

6. Conecte el UM-1G al ordenador
El UM-1G será detectado automáticamente y se instalará el controlador estándar.

Instalación del HD-1 Drum Tutor
A continuación explicamos cómo instalar el HD-1 Drum Tutor en el ordenador.
Comprobaciones previas a la instalación
Para instalar, inicie la sesión como usuario con privilegios administrativos.
HD-1 Drum Tutor debe ser instalado por un usuario con privilegios administrativos. Una
vez instalado también podrá ser empleado por usuarios sin privilegios administrativos.
Antes de instalar, cierre todo programa de software de monitorización del sistema.
Si en su ordenador tiene instalado software de monitorización del sistema, como programas
antivirus, debe desactivarlo hasta haber concluido la instalación del HD-1 Drum Tutor.
Recuerde asimismo cerrar las aplicaciones que no son visibles en la barra de tareas de
Windows.
Instalación
* Para instalar este software debe iniciar la sesión como usuario con privilegios
administrativos.
* Cierre todas las aplicaciones de software que se estén ejecutando en ese momento.
Cierre asimismo todas las ventanas abiertas. Asegúrese también de cerrar todo programa
antivirus o de monitorización del sistema.
1. Inserte el CD-ROM HD-1 Drum Tutor incluido en la unidad de CD-ROM.
2. En el CD-ROM, vaya a la carpeta HD-1 Drum Tutor y, a continuación, haga doble clic
en el icono Setup.exe.
3. Para instalar el software, siga las instrucciones que irán apareciendo en la pantalla.
* Si aparece una pantalla de confirmación de control de la cuenta del usuario, haga clic en
[Continuar].

Problemas relativos a la instalación
No es posible instalar el HD-1 Drum Tutor
Vuelva a instalar el controlador de UM-1G siguiendo las instrucciones del procedimiento
“Instalación del software” (p. 8).
¿Ha insertado correctamente el CD-ROM en la unidad de CD-ROM?
Asegúrese de insertar correctamente el CD-ROM en la unidad de CD-ROM.
¿El CD-ROM o la lente de la unidad de CD-ROM están sucios?
Si el CD-ROM o la unidad de CD-ROM están sucios, es posible que el programa de instalación no
se ejecute correctamente. Limpie el disco y/o la lente con un limpiador de CD o de lentes.
¿Con qué privilegios de usuario ha iniciado la sesión de Windows?
Deberá iniciar la sesión de Windows utilizando alguno de los siguientes tipos de usuario.
• Usuario perteneciente al grupo Administradores (por ejemplo, Administrador)
• Usuario cuyo tipo de cuenta sea Administrador de equipo
* Consulte más información al administrador del sistema de su ordenador.
¿Está intentando realizar la instalación desde una unidad CD-ROM de red?
No es posible realizar la instalación desde una unidad CD-ROM de red.
¿Hay suficiente espacio en el disco duro?
Asegúrese de disponer como mínimo de 25 MB de espacio libre.
¿El UM-1G está conectado correctamente?
Asegúrese de que el conector USB de su ordenador esté conectado al UM-1G.

¿Es posible que haya otro dispositivo USB conectado?
Antes de ejecutar el programa de instalación, desconecte todos los dispositivos USB, con la
excepción del teclado y el ratón.
¿Es posible que haya otro programa de software o software residente en ejecución
(como programas antivirus)?
Es posible que la instalación no se efectúe correctamente si hay otros programas en ejecución.
Asegúrese de haber cerrado todos los demás programas antes de realizar la instalación.
¿El ordenador o el concentrador USB suministran suficiente energía eléctrica?
Es posible que el UM-1G no pueda conectarse si la potencia eléctrica es insuficiente.
Compruebe lo siguiente.
• Si está utilizando el UM-1G con un ordenador portátil que se esté alimentando con la
batería, es posible que el funcionamiento con algunos modelos no sea fiable. En tal caso,
conecte el adaptador de CA al ordenador portátil.
• Es posible que el modo de ahorro de energía del ordenador esté limitando la electricidad
suministrada a USB. Compruebe la configuración del ordenador.
• En algunos casos, el UM-1G no podrá utilizarse con un concentrador de bus (un
concentrador sin fuente de alimentación eléctrica). Utilice un concentrador de alimentación
autónoma (con fuente de alimentación eléctrica).
Problemas de inicio
La aplicación no se inicia
¿Es posible que se estén ejecutando numerosas aplicaciones?
Es posible que la memoria sea insuficiente como para iniciar otra aplicación. Antes de iniciar la
aplicación, cierre otras. Si el problema persiste, pruebe a reiniciar Windows.
¿Es posible que haya otro programa de software o software residente en ejecución
(como programas antivirus)?
Si hay otro programa de software en ejecución, es posible que la aplicación no pueda iniciarse
correctamente. Pruebe a probar otros programas de software antes de utilizar la aplicación.
Aparecen mensajes como “Error de DLL desconocido” o “Vinculado
a exportación defectuosa”
El HD-1 Drum Tutor no ha sido instalado correctamente.
Desinstale el HD-1 Drum Tutor siguiendo las instrucciones de “Desinstalación del HD-1 Drum
Tutor” (p. 18) y, a continuación, vuelva a instalarlo tal y como se describe en “Instalación del
software” (p. 8).

del módulo de sonido.
¿Es posible que el atenuador de control de volumen esté en posición baja?
Si la tarjeta de sonido que está utilizando incluye una utilidad de mezclador, compruébela
y asegúrese de que el sonido de reproducción sea lo bastante audible.
Para iniciar la utilidad de mezclador, sitúe el puntero del ratón sobre el icono de volumen
de la barra de tareas de Windows y, a continuación, haga doble clic en el mismo.
Si en la barra de tareas no hay ningún icono de volumen, efectúe el siguiente procedimiento.
Windows Vista:
En el menú Inicio, seleccione sucesivamente Panel de control | Hardware y sonido | Sonido
| Ajustar volumen del sistema para iniciar el Mezclador de volumen.
Windows XP:
En el menú Inicio, seleccione Todos los programas | Accesorios | Entretenimiento |
Control de volumen.
¿El controlador del dispositivo de audio está correctamente instalado?
Asegúrese de que el controlador del dispositivo de audio esté correctamente instalado.
El sonido se interrumpe durante la reproducción
Cambie la configuración de destino de salida de audio.
1. Seleccione el elemento de Menú Setup | Set Up Audio/MIDI Devices .
2. Cambie el destino de la salida.
• Cambie el Audio Driver Type (predeterminado: Sonido directo de Windows).
• Cambie el Audio Output Device (predeterminado: controlador de sonido principal).

No es posible cargar una canción
¿Ha especificado un archivo MIDI estándar que pueda cargarse?
Asegúrese de que el archivo MIDI estándar especificado cumpla las siguientes condiciones.
• Formato: 0 ó 1
• Número de compases: 999 o menos
• Número de eventos: 99.999 o menos
• Resolución: 24 TPQN o superior
Algunas notas no aparecen en la notación de la batería ni en la pantalla
¿Es posible que esté utilizando notas que no puedan verse en la notación?
Las notas (números de notas) que el HD-1 no puede reproducir no aparecen en la notación ni
en la pantalla. Tampoco serán visibles las notas con valores de velocidad inferiores a 20 ni las
notas creadas en un canal MIDI que no sea el canal 10.
Algunas notas de la batería no suenan al seleccionar el ajuste SOLO
¿Es posible que esté utilizando notas incompatibles con SOLO?
SOLO es incompatible con notas (números de notas) que el HD-1 no puede reproducir y con
las partes de percusión cuyo canal MIDI no sea el canal 10.
Algunas notas de la batería siguen sonando incluso tras haber activado
la opción MINUS ONE
¿Es posible que esté utilizando notas incompatibles con MINUS ONE?
Minus One es incompatible con notas (números de notas) que el HD-1 no puede reproducir
y con las partes de percusión cuyo canal MIDI no sea el canal 10.

El HD-1 Drum Tutor no responde al tocar el HD-1
¿Ha instalado el controlador MIDI utilizando el procedimiento correcto?
Vuelva a instalar el controlador de UM-1G (el controlador estándar) siguiendo el
procedimiento descrito en “Conexión del dispositivo MIDI (UM-1G)” (p. 8).
¿Es posible que el interruptor [ADVANCE] (selección de modo) del UM-1G esté en ON?
Sitúe el interruptor [ADVANCED DRIVER] (selección de modo) del UM-1G en la posición OFF y,
a continuación, vuelva a conectar el UM-1G. A continuación, vuelva a instalar el controlador
de UM-1G (el controlador estándar) siguiendo el procedimiento descrito en “Conexión del
dispositivo MIDI (UM-1G)” (p. 8).
¿El UM-1G está conectado correctamente?

Conectando o dispositivo MIDI (UM-1G)
Veja como conectar o dispositivo MIDI (UM-1G) ao seu computador.
1. Inicie o Windows sem conectar o UM-1G.
Desconecte todos os cabos USB, exceto os do teclado e/ou do mouse USB, se houver.
2. Faça logon como usuário com privilégios administrativos.
3. Feche todo o software que estiver em execução.
Feche todas as janelas abertas. Se estiver usando antivírus ou um software similar,
feche também esses programas.
4. Desligue o comutador [ADVANCED DRIVER] do UM-1G, deixando-o na posição OFF.

Verificar antes da instalação
Para instalar, faça logon como usuário com privilégios administrativos
O HD-1 Drum Tutor deve ser instalado por um usuário com privilégios administrativos. Uma
vez instalado, ele poderá ser usado por usuários sem privilégios administrativos.
Antes de instalar, feche todo e qualquer software de monitoração do sistema
Se algum software de monitoração do sistema, como um programa antivírus, estiver
instalado em seu computador, mantenha-o desativado até terminar a instalação do HD-1
Drum Tutor.
Lembre-se também de desativar os aplicativos que talvez não estejam aparecendo na barra
de tarefas do Windows.
Instalando
* Para instalar este software, é preciso fazer logon como usuário com privilégios
administrativos.
* É preciso fechar todo e qualquer software que estiver em execução. Também é preciso
fechar todas as janelas abertas. Feche também todo e qualquer software antivírus ou de
monitoração do sistema.
1. Insira o CD-ROM do HD-1 Drum Tutor (incluído) na unidade de CD-ROM.
2. No CD-ROM, navegue até a pasta HD-1 Drum Tutor e clique duas vezes no ícone
Setup.exe.
3. Instale o software seguindo as instruções que aparecerem na tela.

Se o CD-ROM ou a lente da unidade de CD-ROM estiverem sujos, o instalador não funcionará
corretamente. Limpe o disco e/ou a lente usando um limpador de CDs ou de lentes à venda
no mercado.
Com quais privilégios de usuário você fez logon no Windows?
Você deve fazer logon no Windows como um dos tipos de usuário a seguir.
• Um usuário que pertença ao grupo Administradores (por exemplo, Administrador)
• Um usuário cujo tipo de conta seja Administrador do computador

O UM-1G não poderá ser conectado se a energia fornecida for insuficiente. Verifique se os

• Se você estiver usando o UM-1G com um notebook alimentado por bateria, a operação
talvez não seja confiável em alguns modelos de computador. Nesse caso, conecte
o adaptador AC ao notebook..
• O modo de economia de energia do computador talvez esteja limitando a fonte de
alimentação do USB. Verifique as configurações do computador.
• Em alguns casos, o UM-1G não pode ser usado com um hub cuja energia seja fornecida
por barramento (um hub sem fonte de alimentação). Use um hub que tenha fonte de
alimentação própria.
Problemas ao iniciar

Há vários aplicativos em execução?
Talvez não haja memória suficiente para outro aplicativo ser iniciado. Feche os outros
aplicativos antes de iniciar outro software. Se ainda houver erro, reinicie o Windows.
Algum outro software ou software residente (como os programas antivírus) está
em execução?
Se outro software estiver em execução, o aplicativo talvez não inicialize corretamente.
Tente resolver fechando o outro software antes de usar o aplicativo.
É exibido um erro “Unknown DLL error” (DLL desconhecida) ou “Linked to
faulty export” (vinculado a uma exportação com problema)
O HD-1 Drum Tutor não foi instalado corretamente.
Desinstale o HD-1 Drum Tutor conforme descrição em “Removendo o HD-1 Drum Tutor” (pág. 18)
e então instale o driver novamente, conforme descrição em “Instalando o software” (pág. 8).

O HD-1 Drum Tutor não responde quando você toca o HD-1
Você instalou o driver MIDI usando o procedimento correto?
Reinstale o driver do UM-1G (driver padrão) usando o procedimento descrito em
“Conectando o dispositivo MIDI (UM-1G)” (pág. 8).
Será que o comutador ADVANCE (seleção de modo) do UM-1G está ativado (na posição ON)?
Ponha o comutador [ADVANCED DRIVER] (seleção de modo) do UM-1G na posição OFF
e reconecte o UM-1G. Reinstale então o driver do UM-1G (driver padrão) conforme a descrição
em “Conectando o dispositivo MIDI (UM-1G)” (pág. 8).
O UM-1G está conectado corretamente?
Assegure-se de que o UM-1G esteja ligado ao conector USB do computador.
Será que você se enganou com os cabos MIDI IN e MIDI OUT?
Verifique as conexões dos cabos MIDI.
As configurações de economia de energia do computador estão desativadas?

O UM-1G não poderá ser conectado se a energia fornecida for insuficiente. Verifique
se os casos a seguir se aplicam.
• Se você estiver usando o UM-1G com um notebook alimentado por bateria, a operação
talvez não seja confiável em alguns modelos de computador. Nesse caso, conecte
o adaptador AC ao notebook..
• O modo de economia de energia do computador talvez esteja limitando a fonte
de alimentação do USB. Verifique as configurações do computador.
• Em alguns casos, o UM-1G não pode ser usado com um hub cuja energia seja fornecida

Removendo o HD-1 Drum Tutor
1. Inicie o Windows sem conectar o UM-1G.

(por exemplo, Administrador)
2. Clique no botão Iniciar do Windows e clique em Painel de Controle.

4. Na lista de programas, clique em HD-1 Drum Tutor.

Deze handleiding (Installatiehandleiding voor HD-1 Drum Tutor) bevat
informatie voor de installatie en configuratie van HD-1 Drum Tutor, het
aansluiten van apparaten, en het oplossen van eventuele problemen.
* In deze handleiding zijn menu-items, namen van commando’s, en parameters
die in een dialoogvenster worden weergegeven vet gedrukt.
* In deze handleiding worden de stappen in een procedure voor het selecteren

de standaard van de HD-1 te bevestigen.
Dit is het document dat u nu leest. Bewaar het als

De software installeren
Het MIDI-apparaat (UM-1G) aansluiten
U kunt het MIDI-apparaat (UM 1G) als volgt op de computer aansluiten.
1. Start Windows terwijl de UM-1G niet is aangesloten.
Koppel alle USB-kabels los, behalve eventuele kabels voor een USB-toetsenbord en/of USB-muis.
2. Log in als een gebruiker die over beheerdersrechten beschikt.
3. Sluit alle programma’s die actief zijn.
Sluit alle geopende vensters. Sluit ook alle antivirusprogramma’s of gelijkaardige
programma’s.
4. Zet de [ADVANCED DRIVER]-schakelaar van de UM-1G op OFF.

6. Sluit de UM 1G op de computer aan.
De UM-1G wordt automatisch gedetecteerd en het standaard stuurprogramma wordt

hardware is geïnstalleerd en is klaar voor gebruik ” op de taakbalk wordt weergegeven.

HD-1 Drum Tutor installeren
Ga als volgt te werk om HD-1 Drum Tutor op de computer te installeren.
Controle voor de installatie
Log in als een gebruiker die over beheerdersrechten beschikt als u de software gaat
installeren.
HD-1 Drum Tutor moet geïnstalleerd worden door een gebruiker die over beheerdersrechten
beschikt. Eens HD-1 Drum Tutor geïnstalleerd is, kan het ook worden gebruikt door
gebruikers die niet over beheerdersrechten beschikken.
Sluit alle programma’s voor systeemcontrole voordat u de software installeert
Als er op uw computer programma’s voor systeemcontrole, zoals antivirusprogramma’s, zijn
geïnstalleerd, dient u al deze programma’s te sluiten voordat u HD-1 Drum Tutor installeert.
Sluit ook alle toepassingen die mogelijk niet in de taakbalk van Windows worden
weergegeven.
Installatie
* Om de software te installeren, dient u in te loggen als een gebruiker die over
beheerdersrechten beschikt.
* Sluit alle programma’s die actief zijn. Sluit ook alle geopende vensters. Sluit ook alle
antivirusprogramma’s of programma’s voor systeemcontrole.
1. Plaats de bijgeleverde HD-1 Drum Tutor CD-ROM in het cd-romstation.
2. Navigeer op de CD-ROM naar de map HD-1 Drum Tutor en dubbelklik op het
pictogram Setup.exe.
3. Volg de instructies op het scherm om de software te installeren.
* Klik op [Doorgaan] als een bevestigingsscherm van Gebruikersaccountbeheer verschijnt.

Problemen oplossen
Leest eerst dit hoofdstuk als u problemen ondervindt. In dit hoofdstuk vindt u tips voor het
oplossen van de meeste problemen.
* Raadpleeg de gebruikershandleiding van de computer en van het besturingssysteem dat
u gebruikt voor meer informatie over het gebruik van uw Windows- of Macintoshcomputer.
Problemen met de installatie
Kan HD-1 Drum Tutor niet installeren
Installeer het stuurprogramma voor de UM-1G opnieuw zoals beschreven in “De software
installeren” (p. 8).
Is de CD-ROM correct in het cd-romstation geplaatst?
Controleer of de CD-ROM correct in het cd-romstation is geplaatst.
Is de CD-ROM of de lens van het cd-romstation vuil?
Als de CD-ROM of de lens van het cd-romstation vuil is, is het mogelijk dat het
installatieprogramma niet goed werkt. Houd uw discs en de lens proper door een
in de handel verkrijgbare cd-reiniger of lensreiniger te gebruiken.
Met welke gebruikersprivileges bent u op Windows ingelogd?
Gebruik een van de volgende gebruikerstypes wanneer u wilt inloggen op Windows.
• Een gebruiker van de beheerdersgroep (bv. Administrator)
• Een gebruiker met computerbeheerder als account.
* Raadpleeg de systeembeheerder van uw computer voor meer informatie.
Probeert u de software vanaf een cd-romstation op het netwerk te installeren?
U kunt de software niet vanaf een cd-romstation op het netwerk installeren.
Is er voldoende ruimte op de harde schijf beschikbaar?
Controleer dat er minstens 25MB vrije ruimte beschikbaar is.
Is de UM-1G correct aangesloten?
Controleer dat de USB-aansluiting van de computer is aangesloten op de UM-1G.
Is er een ander USB-apparaat aangesloten?
Koppel alle USB-apparaten behalve de muis en het toetsenbord los voordat u de installatie
uitvoert.

Problemen oplossen
Is er een ander programma of een programma in het geheugen (zoals een
antivirusprogramma) actief?
Het is mogelijk dat installatie niet kan worden uitgevoerd als er andere programma’s actief zijn.
Sluit alle andere programma’s voordat u de installatie uitvoert.
Biedt de computer of USB-hub voldoende stroomvoorziening?
De UM-1G kan niet worden aangesloten als er onvoldoende stroom geleverd wordt.
Controleer of een van de volgende zaken van toepassing is.
• Indien u een notebook gebruikt die op batterijen werkt, is het mogelijk dat de UM-1G niet
stabiel werkt op bepaalde computermodellen. Sluit in dit geval uw computer aan op de
netstroomadapter.
• De stroombesparingsmodus van de computer beperkt mogelijk de stroom die aan de USB
wordt geleverd. Controleer de instellingen van uw computer.
• In sommige gevallen kan de UM-1G niet worden gebruikt met een hub die door een bus
van stroom wordt voorzien (een hub die zelf niet over een stroomvoorziening beschikt).

Problemen tijdens het opstarten
Kan niet opstarten
Zijn er meerdere toepassingen actief?
Het is mogelijk dat er onvoldoende geheugen beschikbaar is om een andere toepassing te
starten. Sluit alle andere toepassingen voordat u de toepassing start. Start Windows opnieuw
op als het probleem zich blijft voordoen.
Is er een ander programma of een programma in het geheugen (zoals een
antivirusprogramma) actief?
Het is mogelijk dat de toepassing niet kan worden gestart als er andere programma’s actief
zijn. Sluit alle andere programma’s voordat u de toepassing gebruikt.
Er verschijnt een foutmelding “Onbekende DLL-fout” of “Gekoppeld aan
onjuiste export”
HD-1 Drum Tutor is niet correct geïnstalleerd.
Verwijder HD-1 Drum Tutor zoals beschreven in “HD-1 Drum Tutor verwijderen” (p. 18),
en installeer vervolgens het stuurprogramma opnieuw zoals beschreven in “De software
installeren” (p. 8).

Geen geluid
Is de stroom ingeschakeld?
Controleer de stroomschakelaars van de luidsprekers of het audio-afspeelsysteem, en van
de geluidsmodule.
Zijn de volumeregelaars correct afgesteld?
Controleer de volumeregelaars van de luidsprekers of het audio-afspeelsysteem, en van
de geluidsmodule.
Is de volumefader te laag ingesteld?
Als er een mixerprogramma voor uw geluidskaart werd geïnstalleerd, dient u de instellingen
van het mixerprogramma te raadplegen en te controleren of het afspeelvolume hoog genoeg
is ingesteld.
Dubbelklik op het volumepictogram in de taakbalk van Windows om het mixerprogramma
te starten.
Ga als volgt te werk als er geen volumepictogram in de taakbalk wordt weergegeven.
Windows Vista:
Kies in het menu Start Configuratiescherm | Hardware en geluid | Geluid |
Systeemvolume aanpassen om de Volumemixer te starten.
Windows XP:
Kies in het menu Start Alle programma’s | Bureau-accessoires | Entertainment |

Werd het stuurprogramma van het audioapparaat correct geïnstalleerd?
Controleer dat het stuurprogramma van het audioapparaat correct geïnstalleerd is.
Het geluid wordt tijdens het afspelen onderbroken
Wijzig de audio-instelling van de uitvoerbestemming.
1. Kies het menu-item Setup | Set Up Audio/MIDI Devices.
2. Wijzig de uitvoerbestemming.
• Wijzig de instelling Audio Driver Type (standaard: Windows Direct Sound).
• Wijzig de instelling Audio Output Device (standaard: Primair geluidsstuurprogramma).

Kan een song niet laden
Hebt u een standaard MIDI-bestand opgegeven dat kan worden geladen?
Controleer dat u het standaard MIDI-bestand dat u hebt opgegeven aan de volgende
voorwaarden voldoet.
• Indeling: 0 of 1
• Aantal maten: 999 of minder
• Aantal events: 99.999 of minder
• Resolutie: 24 TPQN of hoger
Sommige noten worden niet in de drumnotatie of het spelscherm weergegeven
Gebruikt u noten die niet in de notatie kunnen worden weergegeven?
Noten (nootnummers) die niet op de HD-1 kunnen worden gespeeld, worden niet in de
drumnotatie of in het spelscherm weergegeven. Ook noten met een snelheidswaarde die
lager is dan 20, of noten die op een ander MIDI-kanaal dan kanaal 10 werden gecreëerd,
kunnen niet worden weergegeven.
Sommige drumnoten worden niet gespeeld als u de SOLO-instelling van
de drumpartij inschakelt
Gebruikt u noten die geen ondersteuning bieden voor SOLO?
SOLO wordt niet ondersteund voor noten (nootnummers) die niet op de HD-1 kunnen
worden gespeeld of voor drumpartijen met een ander MIDI-kanaal dan kanaal 10.
Sommige drumnoten blijven hoorbaar, zelfs als u MINUS ONE inschakelt
Gebruikt u noten die niet door MINUS ONE worden ondersteund?
MINUS ONE biedt geen ondersteuning voor noten (nootnummers) die niet op de HD-1
kunnen worden gespeeld of voor drumpartijen met een ander MIDI-kanaal dan kanaal 10.

HD-1 Drum Tutor reageert niet als u op de HD-1 slaat
Hebt u het MIDI-stuurprogramma geïnstalleerd volgens de juiste procedure?
Installeer het stuurprogramma van de UM-1G (het standaard stuurprogramma) opnieuw volgens
de procedure die wordt beschreven in “Het MIDI-apparaat (UM-1G) aansluiten” (p. 8).
Is de ADVANCE-schakelaar (modusselectie) van de UM-1G in de positie ON ingeschakeld?
Zet de [ADVANCED DRIVER]-schakelaar (modusselectie) van de UM-1G op OFF en sluit de UM-1G
opnieuw aan. Installeer vervolgens het stuurprogramma van de UM-1G (het standaard
stuurprogramma) opnieuw zoals beschreven in “Het MIDI-apparaat (UM-1G) aansluiten” (p. 8).
Is de UM-1G correct aangesloten?
Controleer dat de UM-1G is aangesloten op de USB-aansluiting van de computer.
Hebt u MIDI IN- en OUT-kabels omgewisseld?
Controleer de MIDI-kabelaansluitingen.
Zijn de stroombesparingsinstellingen van uw computer uitgeschakeld?
Schakel alle stroombesparingsfuncties die op uw computer zijn geactiveerd uit. Raadpleeg
de gebruikershandleiding van uw computer voor meer informatie.
Is de USB-aansluiting van uw computer compatibel?
Raadpleeg de gebruikershandleiding van uw computer en controleer of de USB-specificaties
compatibel zijn.
Biedt de computer of USB-hub voldoende stroomvoorziening?
De UM-1G kan niet worden aangesloten as er onvoldoende stroom geleverd wordt.
Controleer of een van de volgende zaken van toepassing is.
• Indien u een notebook gebruikt die op batterijen werkt, is het mogelijk dat de UM-1G niet
stabiel werkt op bepaalde computermodellen. Sluit in dit geval uw computer aan op de
netstroomadapter.
• De stroombesparingsmodus van de computer beperkt mogelijk de stroom die aan de USB
wordt geleverd. Controleer de instellingen van uw computer.
• In sommige gevallen kan de UM-1G niet worden gebruikt met een hub die door een bus
van stroom wordt voorzien (een hub die zelf niet over een stroomvoorziening beschikt).
Gebruik een hub die over een stroomvoorziening beschikt.
Voldoet uw computer aan de specificaties voor USB?
Indien uw computer niet voldoet aan de elektrische vereisten van de USB-specificatie, is het
mogelijk dat de UM-1G niet stabiel werkt. In dit geval kunt u het probleem oplossen door een
USB-hub met eigen stroomvoorziening te gebruiken.

Externe MIDI-geluidsmodule is produceert geen geluid
Zijn alle aansluitingen en instellingen van de externe MIDI-geluidsmodule correct?
Controleer dat alle aansluitingen en instellingen van de externe MIDI-geluidsmodule correct
zijn (p. 19).
Zijn de apparaatinstellingen voor audio/MIDI correct?
Controleer dat de apparaatinstellingen en de volume-instellingen voor audio/MIDI correct zijn.
HD-1 Drum Tutor verwijderen
1. Start Windows terwijl de UM-1G niet is aangesloten.
Koppel alle USB-kabels los, behalve eventuele kabels voor een USB-toetsenbord en/of USB-muis.
Log in als een gebruiker van de beheerdersgroep (bv. Administrator).
2. Klik op de knop Start van Windows, en klik vervolgens op Configuratiescherm.
3. Klik op Programma verwijderen (in Windows XP: Programma’s wijzigen of verwijderen).
4. Klik in de lijst met programma’s op HD-1 Drum Tutor.
5. Klik op Installatie ongedaan maken (in Windows XP: klik op Verwijderen) om HD-1 Drum
Tutor te verwijderen.
* Klik op [Doorgaan] als een bevestigingsscherm van Gebruikersaccountbeheer verschijnt.
6. Het bericht “Uninstall Complete.” wordt weergegeven. Klik op [Finish] om Windows
opnieuw op te starten.

met een hogere geluidskwaliteit beluisteren.
