Who are the American Business School’s
students?
Where are they from? Why did they
choose your school?
They come from all over the world! We have
60% of foreign students, Americans, Europeans,
students from the middle East and Asia who
choose France - and our school - to prepare
American degrees (BBA, mBA and mSc) without going through
overseas universities, which are very expensive and tend to be
focused on the u.S. market.
We also have 40% of French students who, soon after the
Baccalaureate, want to immerse themselves in an international
and multicultural environment, and take an American course
in English. Others come after a French Bac +3 or +4 in order to
complete their course and obtain an mBA to match their
career aspirations.
What are the main advantages of a multicultural
environment?
I mainly see them through two specificities of our school:
- The group projects that give the opportunity to students of
different nationalities to work together on issues or case studies
and allow them to mutualize different perspectives that will benefit
their future professional lives. Within multinational companies, they
will be comfortable handling complex global projects.
- The Study Abroad program, which allows our students to spend
one to three semesters in a partner university abroad. There, they
can complement and enhance their educational journey
abroad. And they are very successful. We have many paths to
excellence, particularly in American universities, as you will
discover in the stories we publish in this booklet.
What are the advantages of studying in English in the
french capital? And how does it prepare students for
the job market in the world?
Paris is a very pleasant city, culturally and humanly, for our foreign
students. They find an atmosphere you could define as the «hinge»
between European countries, the middle East or Asia... and the
united States. France is for them both a nation of tradition and
a western country focused on careers and values of the future.
Finally I would like to emphasize that we do not just train and
prepare our students for jobs all over the world, we support them
in their professional project, during and after their studies, until
their permanent installation in a company that will fit their skills
and aspirations. This is why we can say that our supportive role
never stops...

“Thanks to its many partner institutions
throughout the world and the proportion of
international students, the American Business
School of Paris was the perfect match for me.
During my studies, I took the opportunity to
spend a semester in South Korea at Chung Ang
university and the university of South Carolina.
After completing my last semester in Paris, I
joined Alstom in January 2013 for a six-month
internship in order to finish my studies. Given the
outcome of the internship, Alstom decided to
hire me as a Corporate HR Analyst in Singapore.
Thanks to my international exposure during my
studies and the many foreign students I met, I
was able to integrate very easily in other
countries and adapt to other cultures, which
was a key element in interacting with people at
work.”

(french working in france)
“After a 3 year French degree in Business, I choose to give an international
scope to my studies by joining The American Business School of Paris. I
took advantage of each holiday, to enhance my professional experience
(at l’Oreal Paris, or montblanc Ecriture for instance), within the area I am most fond of: fashion & luxury.
I realized my end of curriculum internship at the Operational Sales department, Zannier Group,
worldwide leader on the kid clothing market with approximately 5000 employees over 30 countries.
After 4 months on this job, my manager offered to hire me on a Sales position. For two years, I have
been the Sales manager for Kenzo Kids, for part of France, World export, for some major Kenzo retail
stores and online websites. Then 6 months ago, I have been poached by a very attractive and
expanding luxury brand name, moncler, where I am currently in charge of Sales Development for the
Child product lines in France and in Benelux. With no doubt, it is the opportunity of internship offered
by the American Business School that allowed my career to take this path and evolve rapidly within
the sector.”
“I am from Braga, Portugal. I have graduated
from the American Business School in June 2010,
and literally on the next day I was on a plane to
Dublin to start working for Google! As a very
international enterprise, they have focused on
my previous experiences in Portugal and the
international flavour of the American Business
School. Being in a multicultural environment
and learning from great teachers with a very
different approach to Entrepreneurship and
Business proved very successful. I joined the
company as a Consumer Operations
Associate, for 15 months, before moving to
london where I am currently living.”

“I am an American who transferred to The
American Business School from Appalachian
State university in North Carolina, uSA. I had
originally intended on studying abroad for one
year at the American Business School and fell in
love with both the school and the city. I found
that the curriculum was much more business
oriented and the school provided me with
invaluable international exposure. Through
contacts I had made during my time at the
American Business School, I received an offer
for a temporary business development role with
an IT company in Sydney, Australia which
started the week right after graduation. In 2011,
I returned back to the uS for a Foreign Exchange
Treasury Analyst position at Credit Suisse. I am
currently responsible for reconciling trading
activity for over 20 different currencies for
various types of clients.”

“I have been doing track for almost ten years. I run the 400m and
for those who know that sport, my best performance in that event
is 55’93. my best result was to finish 4th in the French championships
for girls under 22 years of age, and that same year, I was selected for
the French National Team to participate in a competition in Tunisia.
I love that sport and the modular program at the American Business
School allows me to combine the two activities.”

“My name is Chloé, I am 19 years old and I
am a second year student at the American
Business School Paris. I am now a professional
drummer, and along with my business studies,
I am involved in studio recording and music
production projects. I play the drums in two
bands during rehearsals and shows regularly
as well as in a percussion ensemble, and I also
take drum lessons at my city music school
and with a drum teacher online. Thanks to
the American Business School and the easily
adaptable schedule, I can keep my busy
music schedule and study business at the
same time. ”

Experience Paris
LIKE a Parisian…
The American Business School is strategically
located in the heart of Paris alongside the
Canal Saint-Martin. It offers a friendly atmosphere where students with different educational backgrounds from all over the world come
together.
Paris, France’s capital, is one of the world’s
major metropolitan centers, and is also a
world center of culture, art, fashion, gastronomy and intellectual life. In your free time
you can take advantage of the rich array of
activities that Paris has to offer.
The school’s location allows professionals
and students to meet conveniently, to get
acquainted and to collaborate on different
projects. We also encourage students to
participate in the cultural opportunities
offered by this astonishing city.
Explore the banks of the Seine, taste a
variety of French delicacies, take time to discover the most famous monuments and
museums in the world, such as the Eiffel
Tower, the Louvre Museum and Notre Dame
Cathedral. The city is also celebrated for its
cafes, parks, outdoor markets and its nightlife. You will have a wealth of experiences…

Housing: finding solutions
is a top priority
Study in a cultural capital
of the world!
Add some
magic to
your studies
Whether you are from Paris, elsewhere in
France or coming from abroad, finding
comfortable and affordable housing is
always a top priority.
As in many large cities, student accommodations in Paris are scarce and may be
expensive. By starting early, students from all
over the world are able to find housing that
meets their needs and their budgets.
The American Business School assists students in finding accommodation. Housing
solutions include shared or single, furnished
or unfurnished apartments and home stays.
Students registered at the American Business
School can also access public university residence halls.
