Beauty of the sound, beauty of the design,
Michel Moine, founder of ULTIMAUDIO, since his teenage, had
always been a music fan and a sound reproduction addict. Soon, he
got his first disappointment when he realized that even a so called
HiFi system is unable to playback a musical performance. Whatever
the cost is they are unable to reproduce the majesty of an opera and
the dynamics of a rock performance.
The quest
As an electronic engineer, he improves the sound of the HiFi systems
that he purchased throughout the years but always remain unsatisfied
by the poor results achieved. He must go through something else.
Tired of searching on the market the perfect system, he decided to
realize himself, a reference HiFi system capable to play back the
emotion and the life of a live concert.
Active amplification, a step towards perfection
To achieve a clear, fast and accurate sound reproduction, Michel
Moine decide that his system will be based on the “active
amplification”, technical principle in which each loudspeaker is fed
individually by its dedicated power amplifier. Professional recording
studios have used this technique for a long time while HiFi industry
still ignores it.

Nature does it right !
Despite its thinness, an egg shell is a perfect volume to resist the air
pressure, to damp the internal sound waves (thanks to its non parallel
walls) but particularly to avoid sound diffraction. Observe the curves,
edifying to prove the bad effect of square enclosures. It is the perfect
theoretical shape to conceive an acoustical enclosure. Michel Moine
adopt it definitely to built his stereophonic system.
When design is created by technique
Making ovoid shapes is difficult and costly but the result is worth the
pain. The result reveals fantastic results to recreate a three
dimensional realistic shape. Contrary to a six faces volume, the sound
doesn’t seem anymore to come from the speakers. These fade to let
the instruments, located on the stage, just like at the concert.
Whatever you listen to the Seiji Osawa, Natalie Dessay, Claude
Bolling or Phil Collins, all are faithfully respected in their performance.
The stage suddenly become realistic and the listener, magically, is
facing the performers.
