ARTERIAL BLOOD PRESSURE ANALYSIS BASED ON
Première rencontre CRM–INRIA–MITACS 5 – 9 MAI, 2008 ARTERIAL BLOOD PRESSURE ANALYSIS BASED ON SCATTERING TRANSFORM Michel Sorine Responsable sicentifique du projet SOSSO INRIA Domaine du Voluceau-Roquencourt, B.P. 105 78153 Le Chesnay Cedex FRANCE [email protected] Abstract We present a new method for analyzing arterial blood pressure waves or other pulse-like signals. The technique is based on the scattering transform and consists in solving the spectral problem associated to a one-dimensional Schrödinger operator with a well-like potential depending linearly upon the pressure. This potential is then approximated by an N -soliton associated to the N most negative eigenvalues of the discrete spectrum. The approach is analogous to a nonlinear Fourier transform where the solitons play the role of sinus and cosinus components. The proposed method leads to new clinical indexes associated for example to the fast and slow parts of the blood pressure wave.
