frappé summer reading summer 2016
frappé summer reading summer 2016 Attached is your summer reading! Going into AP French, you will be reading the story “Jonas ou l’artiste au travail” by Albert Camus, a very important twentieth century French writer. Lots of vocabulary is given to you (in the margins of the text). Organize the vocabulary on the accompanying lists, a total of 205 words, into five lists: nouns (m), nouns (f), verbs, adjectives, other – each list on its own sheet of paper. These HAND-WRITTEN lists are due to be handed in on the first day of school. The list should obviously also include English translations. On the first day of school, you will also hand in your answers to the accompanying page-by-page questions. (Handwritten, skipping lines) Please plan to keep a copy of the two above assignments for your reference while your work is in my possession! On the second full day of class, you will present an exposé (min. two minutes, no notes, four minutes in class to prepare right before you record) on a very general but Jonas-based question that you will be given in class. On the third full day of class, you will have a test on Jonas (vocabulary and comprehension via short answer questions). Have a wonderful summer! Speak French whenever you can, make a point of listening to French and reading French as often as possible, think in French all the time, and just have a very French summer! If you need anything, email me at [email protected] or come find me in Québec City! À bientôt! kgk nb: This entire document, including the intro letter, the questions, and the vocab, can also be found on my weebly webpage under the SUMMER WORK tab at the top of the page. frappé summer reading summer 2016 There are questions in both English and French. (61) * * * * * sujets de discussion/dissertation * * * * * [just think about these over the summer ; early in September we will have an in-class essay based on Jonas] Peut-on vivre et faire de l’art en même temps? Il est souvent difficile de savoir si on est solidaire ou solitaire dans le monde, dans la vie. Juste au moment de se sentir le plus solitaire avec les autres, on est souvent, en réalité, entouré de rien que la solitude. Commentez avec des exemples tirés de la vie réelle et du texte.
