SIS 2010 represents a worldwide unique medical conference with special emphasis on
translational research and the biomedical sciences. As in all previous conferences since
1988 also the program of TSIS 2010 will be distinguished by its unsurpassable scientific
excellence and breadth of interdisciplinary coverage.
Allocated unto the four scientific program sections - Cell-/Molecular Biology,
Pathophysiology, Monitoring/Imaging and Therapy - more than 120 topics as listed in
this website are available for the submission of free communication abstracts that will be
discussed in oral-, oral poster- and oral sessions.

POSITION OUVERTE: DIRECTEUR DE L’UNITE DE
SERVICE TRANSGENES ET ARCHIVAGE ANIMAUX
MODELES: ORLEANS, FRANCE
Le Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, CNRS, recherche un nouveau directeur
pour son unité de services, Transgenèse et Archivage Animaux Modèle, UPS44,
(http://transgenose.cnrs-orleans.fr/eng/taam/presentation.php) située à Orléans. Cette
infrastructure de recherche, dédiée à la génétique de la souris, a été créée en 1953 et joue
un rôle majeur en favorisant l’accès aux modèles souris pour la recherche fondamentale et
sur les maladies humaines. En 2008, cette unité a été labellisée au niveau national par le
groupement d’intérêt scientifique pour les infrastructures en biologie, santé et agronomie
(www.ibisa.net) et elle fait partie maintenant d’une infrastructure Européenne distribuée,
Infrafrontier (www.infrafrontier.eu).
Cette unité comprend 3 départements orientés vers la transgenèse, la zootechnie et
l’imagerie avec plus de 73 ingénieurs et techniciens hautement qualifiés. Elle participe
activement à l’archive de souris mutantes en Europe (the «European Mouse Mutant
Archive»: www.emmanet.org) et à la fédération internationale des centres de ressource
(Fédération of International Mouse Resource: www.FIMRe.org).
La position de Directeur est une situation de rang élevé pour un chercheur, un ingénieur
ou un gestionnaire de projet, rapportant directement à l’Institut des Sciences Biologiques
du CNRS et soutenu par un solide engagement envers l'excellence et l'investissement
dans la gestion des ressources. C'est une opportunité stimulante de rejoindre l'unité et de
conduire son évolution tant au niveau national, Européen ou international. Le directeur
est responsable d’une équipe compétente et enthousiaste, et du développement des
services dans l’état de l’art pour la communauté scientifique. Il/elle aura l'occasion de
développer son/sa propre activité de recherche dans un environnement dynamique avec
un accès privilégié à une installation de haut niveau. Pour répondre à ce challenge, le
candidat idéal devra avoir une vision de la génétique de la souris, un bon leadership et
être capable d’avoir une approche commerciale. Il ou elle doit avoir un doctorat ou un
diplôme de vétérinaire, une bonne expérience, des compétences en gestion et la
compréhension de l'assurance qualité. De solides connaissances en génétique de la souris
seraient un avantage. Le candidat pourra mettre en oeuvre des approches innovantes et
créatives pour le développement futur de l’unité de services. Un aspect clé de cette
position est dans l’interaction avec la communauté scientifique. Les candidats retenus
doivent donc, être dynamique, aller de l’avant, prêt à voyager et avoir d’excellentes
capacités de management et des compétences personnelles.

FACULTY POSITION
The Biology Department of the University of Orleans, France, invites application for a
faculty position at the Professor level. The new faculty member will teach genetics at
the university (in French) and join a research unit of the French National Centre for
Scientific Research (Molecular Immunology and Embryology, UMR6218, on CNRS
campus) associated to a platform (UPS44) for Transgenesis and Animal Models. The
research laboratories fully equipped comprise experts in infectious diseases, lung
inflammation, allergy and genetics. The qualified candidate will have an established
record of excellence in research and is expected to develop an independent research
program in genetics or immunology.
