1.1
RÈGLES / RULES
La régate sera régie par les «règles» telles que définies dans les Règles de Course à la Voile, les présentes
instructions de Course, les lignes directrices de CODA, en vigueur.
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing, the present Sailing
Instructions and the CODA guidelines.

In the event of conflict between the French and English versions, the French text will take precedence.
1.3
Chaque voilier doit soumettre son numéro de voile à l’inscription et ce numéro doit correspondre au numéro
inscrit sur la voile. Un voilier qui court sans numéro de voile ou avec un numéro qui ne correspond pas à
celui qu’il a soumis à l’inscription pourra être l’objet d’une réclamation.
Each competitor must indicate the boats sail number at registration and this number must correspond
with the number on the sail. A competitor who races without a sail number or a number that does not
match the one provided at registration may be protested.

west corner of the Brittania Jr. Club and on the notice board in the junior sailing club at EVO.

Any change to the Sailing Instructions will be posted on the official notice before 9h00 on the 16 th of July
at 8h00 on the Sunday 17 th of July. .

SIGNAUX FAITS A TERRE / SIGNALS MADE A SHORE
Les signaux faits à terre seront envoyés du mât situé en face du club de voile junior de EVO et le mât au nord
du clubhouse du Brittania Yacht Club..
Signals made ashore will be displayed on the official flag pole located in front of the junior clubhouse at
EVO and the flagpole north of the main Brittania Yacht Club clubhouse.

4.2
Lorsque le pavillon AP est hissé au mât, le signal d’attention «1 minute» est remplacé par «non moins que 30
minutes». Les bateaux ne peuvent quitter l’aire de mise à sec lorsque le pavillon AP est hissé.
When flag AP is displayed ashore,”1 minute” is replaced with “not less than 30 minutes” in the race
signal AP. Boats shall not leave the dock while AP flag is displayed.
4.3
Lorsque le pavillon Q est hissé au mât, un remorquage obligatoire est en effet.
When flag “Q” is displayed, mandatory towing will be in effect.

PROGRAMME DES COURSES / SCHEDULE OF RACES
Les journées de courses sont le samedi 16 juillet et le dimanche 17 juillet.
The dates of racing are Saturday July 16th and Sunday July 17th.
Pour la classe Optimist et la flotte verte, un total de 8 courses est prévu pour chacune des classes.
For the Optimist Fleet, a total of eight races are scheduled.
L’heure prévue pour le signal d’avertissement de la première course le samedi 16 juillet est 11h30 pour les
parcours sous l’autorité de Brittania Yacht Club et 10h30 pour les parcours sous l’autorité du Club de voile
Grande-Rivière. L’heure prévue pour le signal d’avertissement de la première course le dimanche 17 juillet
est 9h30 pour tous les parcours.
The scheduled warning signal for the first race Saturday July 16th will be at 11h30 for the courses under the
authority of the Brittania Yacht Club and 10h30 for the courses under the authority of the Club de voile GrandeRivière. The scheduled warning signal for the first race Sunday July 17th will be at 9h30 pour all courses..
Pour prévenir les bateaux qu’une autre course ou séquence de courses va bientôt commencer, un signal
sonore au moins quatre minutes avant l’envoi du signal d’avertissement sera donné.
Successive races on each day will be started as soon as practicable following the finish of the previous
race. Repetitive sound signals may be used by the race committee to alert competitors to the starting
sequence of subsequent races.
Le dimanche, aucun signal d’avertissement ne sera donné après 14h00.
No warning signal will be made after 14h00 on Sunday.

LES PARCOURS / THE COURSES
Les schémas dans l’annexe B (BYC) et B.1 (CVGR) montrent les parcours, incluant les angles approximatifs
entre les sections de parcours, l’ordre dans lequel les marques doivent être passées, et le côté duquel chaque
marque doit être laissée ainsi que le nombre de tours à réaliser.
The diagrams in Attachment B (BYC) and B.1 (CVGR) show the courses for respective classes, including the
approximate angles between legs, the order in which marks are to be passed, and the side on which each mark
is to be left.

9.2
Les marques de départ et d’arrivée seront une pole avec un drapeau rouge /
Start and finish marks will be poles displaying a red flag.
10
LE DEPART / THE START
10.1 La ligne de départ pour parcours de BYC sera située entre le mât du bateau de comité affichant le pavillon
orange au côté tribord de la ligne et une bouée ou mat surmonté d’un pavillon rouge située au côté bâbord de
la ligne. Pour les parcours du CVGR, le mât du bateau de comité affiche un pavillon blanc avec mention
« CC ».
The starting line for BYC courses will be between the mast of the RC boat displaying an orange flag at the
starboard end of the line and the starting mark (red ball) at the port end. For the CVGR courses, the RC boat
will display a white flag with the mention “CC”.
10.2 Les bateaux doivent se présenter au bateau comité pour signaler leur présence sur le parcours et aviser de leur
numéro de voile./ All boats check in with the signal boat on their race area by sailing close astern of the race
committee and hailing their sail number.
10.3 Pour les parcours sous l’autorité de Brittania Yacht Club, la séquence de départ sera comme suit :
Pavillon d’avertissement hissé à 3 minutes avant le départ.
Pavillon de préparation hissé à 2 minutes avant le départ.
Pavillon de préparation descend à 1 minute avant le départ.
Ceci modifie RRS 26.

10.4 Pour les parcours sous l’autorité de Club de voile Grande-Rivière, la séquence de départ sera celle du 5
minutes. For the courses under the authority of the Club de voile Grande-Rivière, the start sequence will be
the 5 minute sequence.
10.5 Les bateaux dont le signal d’avertissement n’a pas été donné doivent éviter la zone de départ.
Boats whose warning signal has not been made shall stay clear of the starting area.
10.6 Pour les parcours sous l’autorité du Club de voile Grande-Rivière, un bateau qui ne prend pas de départ au
plus tard 4 minutes après son signal de départ sera classé DNS sans instruction. Ceci modifie la règle A4.1.
Pour les parcours sous l’autorité de Brittania Yacht Club, un bateau qui ne prend pas de départ au plus tard 2
minutes après son signal de départ sera classé DNS sans instruction. Ceci modifie la règle 63.1, A4 et A5./
For courses under the authority of the Club de voile Grande-Rivière, a boat not starting within 4 minutes
after her start signal will be scored DNS. This changes rule A4.1.
For all courses under the authority of the Brittania Yacht Club, a boat starting later than 2 minutes after her
starting signal will be scored DNS without a hearing. This changes rules 63.1, A4 et A5.
10.7 Pour le parcours des Optimists, si le pavillon U a été envoyé avec le signal préparatoire, aucune partie de la
coque d'un bateau, de son équipage ou de son équipement ne doit être dans le triangle défini par les
extrémités de la ligne de départ et la première marque pendant la dernière minute précédant son signal de
départ. Si un bateau enfreint cette règle et est identifié, il doit être disqualifié sans instruction, sauf si le
départ de la course est redonné ou si elle est recourue ou retardée ou annulée avant le signal de départ. Ceci
modifie la règle 26.
For the Optimist courses, if flag U has been displayed as the preparatory signal, no part of a boat’s hull,
crew or equipment shall be in the triangle formed by the ends of the starting line and the first mark during
the last minute before her starting signal. If a boat breaks this rule and is identified, she shall be disqualified
without a hearing but not if the race is restarted or resailed or postponed or abandoned before the starting
signal. This changes rule 26.
10.8 Le bateau comité pourra au besoin utiliser le Pavillon I selon la règle 30.1 et au besoin selon la règle 30.3./
The Race committee may use, if warranted the flag I under rule 30.1 or flag under rule 30.3.

CHANGEMENT DU BORD SUIVANT DU PARCOURS / CHANGE OF THE NEXT LEG OF THE
COURSE

Pour changer le bord suivant du parcours, le comité de couse déplacera la marque originale (ou la ligne
d’arrivée) vers une nouvelle position. Pour le parcours sous l’autorité du Club de voile Grande-Rivière, le
bateau comité appliquera la règle 33.
To change the next leg of the course, the race committee will move the original mark (or the finishing
line) to a new position./ For the courses under the authority of Club de voile Grande-Rivière, the Race
committee will apply Rule 33.

L’ARRIVÉE / THE FINISH
La ligne d’arrivée pour les parcours sous l’autorité de Brittania Yacht Club sera délimitée par le pavillon
orange hissé sur le bateau du comité, et par une bouée portant un pavillon orange située à l’autre extrémité.
Pour ceux sous l’autorité du Club de voile Grande-Rivière, le pavillon hissé sur le bateau comité est blanc
avec mention « CC ».
For the courses under the authority of the Brittania Yacht Club, The finish line on each course will be
between the finishing mark and the staff displaying an orange flag on the signal boat. For the courses under
the authority of the Club de voile Grande-Rivière, the flag on the signal boat shall be a white flag with
mention “CC”..

TEMPS LIMITES / TIME LIMIT

13.1 Les bateaux manquant à finir dans un délai de 20 minutes après le premier bateau ayant effectué le parcours
et fini seront classés DNF sans instruction. Ceci modifie les règles 35, A4 et A5.
Boats not finishing 20 minutes after the first boat has finished the race will be classified as DNF without
notice.

LES PÉNALITÉS / PENALTY SYSTEM
14.1 Pour les parcours sous l’autorité de Brittania Yacht Club, RRS44.1 est modifiée pour un tour au lieu de 2
tours. RRS P2.1 est aussi changé pour une pénalité d’un tour./ For all classes, RRS 44.1 is changed so that
the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by a One-Turn Penalty. RRS P2.1 is also changed to a one turn penalty.
14.2 L’Appendice P, P2.2 et P2.3 ne s’applique pas / Notwithstanding the application of RRS Appendix P, P2.2
and P2.3 will not apply.

RECLAMATIONS ET DEMANDES DE REPARATION / PROTESTS
15.1 Les formulaires de réclamation et de demande de réparation sont disponibles au secrétariat de course. Les
réclamations doivent y être déposées dans le temps limite de 60 minutes après le signal d’arrivée du Bateau
RC au port.
Protests forms are available at the club office. Protests shall be delivered at the office within 60
minutes of the time RC boats dock after racing is completed for the day.
15.2 Les réclamations seront instruites selon leur ordre de réception si possible. Protests will be treated in their order
of reception.
15.3 Des avis seront affichés au plus tard 30 minutes après le temps limite de réclamations pour informer les
concurrents des instructions dans lesquelles ils sont partis ou appelés comme témoins.
Notice of Protests will be posted no later than 30 minutes after the protest time on the official notice board
to inform competitors of hearings in which they are parties or named as witnesses.
16
CLASSEMENT / SCORING
16.1 Quand moins de 5 courses ont été courues, le score d’un bateau dans la série sera le total de ses points dans
toutes les courses.
When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
16.2 Quand 5 à 8 courses ont été courues, le score d’un bateau dans la série sera le total de ses points dans toutes
les courses en retirant son plus mauvais pointage.
When 5 to 7 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding
her worst score.
16.3 Pour le classement du Circuit du Québec 2016, toutes les étapes compteront avec le système de pondération.
All scores will be counted, using the identified point system, for the final standing of Coupe du Québec 2016.

REMPLACEMENT D’UN PARTICIPANT / REPLACEMENT OF CREW
Le remplacement d’un participant n’est pas permis sans l’autorisation écrite de l’officiel de course.
Substitution of competitors will not be allowed without prior written approval of the race
committee.
18
VÉRIFICATION ET MESURAGES / MEASUREMENT CHECKS
Un bateau ou l’équipement d’un participant pourra être vérifié à tout moment afin de vérifier s’il est en
conformité avec les règles de classes et les Instructions de Courses.
A boat or equipment may be inspected at any time for compliance with the class rules and sailing
instructions.

BATEAUX DES OFFICIELS ET BATEAUX DE SUPPORT/ OFFICIAL AND SUPPORT BOATS
19.1 Les Juges arboreront un drapeau blanc.
Judges will display a white flag.
19.2 Les directeurs d’équipe, les entraîneurs et autres personnes supportant les participants, doivent enregistrer
leur bateau auprès du Comité d’Organisation des courses.
Team managers, coaches and other support personnel must register their boats with the Organizing
Committee.
19.3 Les directeurs d’équipe, les entraîneurs et autres personnes supportant les participants, doivent se tenir à
l’écart des zones où les bateaux sont en courses, à compter du signal préparatoire de la première classe à
prendre le départ, jusqu’à ce que tous les bateaux de toutes les classes aient terminés leur course, ou que le
Comité de Course ait fait un Rappel Général, ou une annulation.
Team managers, coaches and other support personnel must stay out of the race course from the warning
signal for the start the first class, until the last class has finished the course or the Organizing Committee has
called a General Recall or a cancellation.
19.4 Les divers bateaux de support doivent obéir aux appels ou directives du Comité de Courses. La possibilité
d’une réclamation et des pénalités qui en découlent pour les fautifs des règles 18.2 et 18.3 pourra être
appliquée aux concurrents liés aux personnes de ces bateaux de support.
Support boats must follow the calls and instructions of the Course Committee. The possibility of a protest or
penalties exists for anyone breaking rules 18.2 and 18.3 will be applied to the competitors related to the
support boat.
20
REGLES DE SECURITE / SAFETY REGULATIONS
20.1 Les concurrents doivent porter un gilet de sauvetage approuvé par les autorités nationales en tout temps
lorsqu’ils sont sur l’eau.
All sailors shall wear approved life-jackets or other approved personal buoyancy at all times while afloat.
20.2 Tous les voiliers doivent s’enregistrer en sortant et en revenant du parcours auprès du régistre qui se tiendra
au secrétariat de course, sur la veranda du club de voile junior EVO.
All sailboats must register when leaving for and returning from the race course by signing the register
located at the race secretary office on the veranda on the junior clubhouse at EVO..
20.3 Un concurrent qui se retire de la course doit notifier le comité de course dès que possible.Any boat that
retires from a race shall notify a race committee as soon as possible.
20.4

Pour les concurrents sur les parcours de Brittania Yacht Club, lorsque les pavillons AP sur H ou N
sur H sont hisses, ils doivent immédiatement retourner au bord. / In the event of an AP over H, or
N over H, flag being flown, competitors must return to the BYC harbour immediately or other safe
harbour, if conditions make it necessary. In that event please notify BYC of whereabouts as soon as
possible. Britannia Beach may be considered as a safe harbour as well as the Nepean Sailing
Club.

LES PRIX / PRIZES
Des prix seront attribués aux concurrents de chaque classe terminant premier, deuxième et troisième dans la
régate. Pour les Optimists, des prix sont attribués à chaque flotte. Pour la flotte verte, chaque concurrent
reçoit une médaille de participation de CODA.
Regatta prizes will be awarded to the top 3 boats in each class..

DÉCISION DE COURIR
La décision d’un bateau de participer à une course ou de rester en course relève de sa seule responsabilité.
(Voir la règle 4 des RCV. « Décision de courir »). Les autorités organisatrices de cette régate, n’accepteront
aucune responsabilité pour les dommages matériels ou des blessures, ou une mortalité, avant, pendant ou
après cette régate. The decision of a boat to participate in a race or to remain on course rests their sole
responsibility. (See Rule 4 )The organizing committee of this regatta accepts no responsibility for material
damage or injuries or death, before, during or after this regatta.

Chacun des participants doit être assuré avec une assurance admettant les tierces parties.
It is strongly recommended that each participating boat should be insured with valid third-party liability
insurance covering an adequate amount
