The p r o p e r t y i s l o c a t e d a t about 5,000' e l e v a t i o n on t h e
s o u t h s i d e of t h e Akie R i v e r , some 45 km n o r t h - n o r t h e a s t of
t h e n o r t h end of W i l l i s t o n ~ a k e .
The showings were d i s c o v e r e d and s t a k e d [ E l f 1-15 (141
u n i t s ) ] i n June 1978 by Cyprus Anvil Mining C o r p o r a t i o n w h i l e
c a r r y i n g o u t a r e g i o n a l geochemical survey under a j o i n t
v e n t u r e w i t h Hudson's Bay O i l and Gas Company Limited.
Work on t h e c l a i m s i n c l u d e d g e o l o g i c a l mapping and a
geochemical s i l t and s o i l survey (1,230 samples). Diamond

DESCRIPTION OF DEPOSITIDESCRIPTIOND U GISEMENT
The c l a i m s s t r a d d l e a northwest-trending b e l t of Devonian
s h a l e of t h e Gunsteel Formation. Trenching exposed a zone of
s i l i c e o u s p y r i t i c a r g i l l i t e and s h a l e c o n t a i n i n g 10- t o 20-cm
t h i c k beds of bedded b a r i t e w i t h d i f f u s e bands of g a l e n a .
The m i n e r a l i z e d zone i s a p p a r e n t l y 4 t o 5 m e t r e s t h i c k a t
s u r f a c e , w i t h a moderate d i p t o t h e southwest. Trench sample
Elf-2 a s s a y e d 30.1% B a , 32.0% Pb, 1 408 ppm z i n c and 33 ppm
