CongresCAP-­‐FIPF/mars2010/jmsydney 2ème Congrès Asie-­‐Pacifique FIPF – 2nd Asia Pacific Commission Conference 02-­‐06 décembre 2010 www.fipf.org www.naft.org.au http://www.arts.usyd.edu.au/conferences/index.php/french-­‐studiescap/congres_2010 The International Federation of Teachers of French (FIPF) is organising the 2nd regional Conference of its Asia-­‐Pacific Commission at the university of Sydney on the theme of “The French language and French-­‐speaking diversity in the Asia-­‐Pacific region”. The Federation of Associations of Teachers of French in Australia (FATFA) and the New South Wales Association of French teachers (NAFT) are responsible for the local organization. The Commission-­‐Asie Pacifique (CAP) regroups the associations of French teachers from 21 countries : Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japon, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Phillipines, Singapour, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Taiwan, Vanuatu, Viet Nam. Over 300 participants and representatives of French teachers associations are expected. The academic committee has received over 100 offers of papers from teachers, academics and researchers from around the world. Guests of honour from French universities and government will be present at the Conference. The involvement of government organizations and agencies such as the French Foreign Affairs Ministry and French Embassies in the Asia-­‐Pacific Region, the NSW Department of Education, the French Embassy in Canberra, the Government of New Caledonia and the Consulates of Canada, Belgium and Switzerland is anticipated. The mission of this 2nd FIPF Conference will be to bring together different key-­‐players -­‐ Francophones and Francophiles -­‐ in order to build a network of knowledge, exchanges and experiences in the Asia-­‐Pacific region. Educators from the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors, professional associations, publishers and business representatives will meet to reflect on the assets and the potential for future developments that the French language may offer to this strategic region of the world. ”French in the world of work” is an important theme of the Conference and it is expected that business representatives will engage in French in a round table or plenary session on related strategies and implications for the Asia-­‐Pacific Region.
