Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament On the first Friday of the month, parishioners are invited to spend some quiet time in prayer before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Adoration will take place following morning mass in the day chapel, beginning at 9:00 am until 2:00 pm on May 6th. A sign-up sheet will ensure that someone will always be in prayer before the Lord. Communion to the Shut-ins « »»»»»»»»»»»» Those who are unable to attend mass are invited to receive Holy Communion on the first Friday of each month. Deacon Larry and/ or one of the parish Eucharistic Ministers will gladly visit the homes of our shut-ins. If you are not receiving this monthly service and would like to have a visit, please contact the parish office at 519-687-3118. First Holy Communion This weekend, we are pleased to welcome our grade two students as they receive Jesus for the first time in Holy Communion. They have been learning all about Jesus in greater detail and know that they are receiving the actual Body of Christ. What a wonderful gift! Wed. May 4 @7:00 pm Choir CWL 10th Anniversary Celebration It is time to celebrate Visitation Catholic Women’s League council’s 10th Anniversary! CWL Members, spouses or guests, are invited to join us on Saturday, June 4th, 2016 for the celebratory mass at 5 pm. Followed by a meal in the parish hall. Dinner at 6:30 pm catered by the Car Barn includes 3pc broasted chicken dinner, penne with meat sauce, salads, raw veggies, pickles, rolls, butter, coffee, tea and cake, at a cost of $20.00. There will be a cash bar and door prizes. A short presentation of service awards will also take place. CWL Sponsored Our Lady Of Guadalupe Baby Bottle Campaign The Fundraising Committee is having their 2nd Ladies Night on Saturday May 7th, 2016, at the Comber Community Center. Cocktails at 6pm and dinner at 7pm. The cost is $50.00. Dinner catered by Lucca Restaurant and music provided by The Shake Band. This years grand prize is a trip for 2 to Toronto. Round trip on Via Rail, 2 nights stay at the Royal York and 2 tickets to a play of your choice. Last years event sold out so get your tickets right away. Must be 19 years of age. Members of the Fundraising Committee will be selling tickets the next two weeks after all masses or you may call or text Trish Desaulniers at 519-9969952 for tickets. This event was a great success last year, raising over $10,000.00 for the building fund. 2016 Bursaries: Our Lady of Guadalupe Home provides shelter, support and counsel to women in crisis, throughout their pregnancy and after (up to a year) who have no place to live due to unfortunate circumstances. Our Lady of Guadalupe Non-Profit Home is a registered charity, dependent on donations from the community to meet their needs (food and money needed to pay salaries and run the programs). From April 30th to May 15th, Visitation CWL is running a ‘Baby Bottle Campaing’ to support the Home. A tax receipt will be issued by OLOG upon request. Cheques can be made to: ‘Our Lady of Guadalupe Non-Profit Home of Windsor’. Thanking you in advance for your generosity. ‘God leads us along the paths of righteousness. If we are wise, we will not resist. The 2016 applications for the Father Dwayne Adam Music Bursary are now available. The student, an active registered parishioner of this parish, who has never before received this bursary and who will be attending a post-secondary institution in the Fall of the year that the request is made, may apply. As well, the 2016 High School and Mature Student Bursary applications are available. Once again, you must be a registered active member of Visitation Parish, never having received this bursary and attending a post-secondary institution in the Fall, to apply. Applications for these CWL Bursaries will be available on the hall foyer.
