Did you know? You don’t need to have
your eyes checked if you’ve been having trouble
seeing the words projected on the screen in our
church….it’s actually the projector in the church
that was gradually losing it’s strength and
projection clarity. Even equipment grows old with
time. A new projector was purchased at a cost of
$3,962.63. A BIG thank you to the Usher’s Club
who donated the funds that enabled us to make this
purchase. Their generosity will benefit us all.

Message from Pope Francis
A merciful heart does not mean a weak heart. Anyone who
wishes to be merciful must have a strong and steadfast heart,
closed to the tempter but open to God. A heart which lets
itself be pierced by the Spirit so as to bring love along the
roads that lead to our brothers and sisters. During this Lent,
then, brothers and sisters, let us all ask the Lord: “Make our
hearts like yours”. In this way we will receive a heart which
is firm and merciful, attentive and generous, a heart which is
not closed, indifferent or prey to the globalization of
indifference. It is my prayerful hope that this Lent will prove
spiritually fruitful for each believer and every community. I
ask all of you to pray for me. May the Lord bless you and
Our Lady keep you.

Avoir un cœur miséricordieux ne veut pas dire avoir un cœur
faible. Celui qui veut être miséricordieux a besoin d’un cœur
fort, solide, fermé au tentateur, mais ouvert à Dieu. Un cœur
qui se laisse pénétrer par l’Esprit et porter sur les voies de
l’amour qui conduisent à nos frères et à nos sœurs. Je désire
prier au Seigneur avec vous en ce Carême: «Rends notre
cœur semblable au tien». Alors nous aurons un cœur fort et
miséricordieux, vigilant et généreux, qui ne se laisse pas
enfermer en lui-même et qui ne tombe pas dans le vertige de
la mondialisation de l’indifférence. Avec ce souhait, je vous
assure de ma prière afin que chaque croyant et chaque
communauté parcourt avec fruit le chemin du Carême, et je
vous demande de prier pour moi. Que le Seigneur vous
bénisse et que la Vierge Marie vous garde.

Mass of Chrism:
Each year on Monday of Holy
Week, Bishop Fabbro gathers with all of the priests of the
London Diocese for a day of reflection. On March 30th at
the 7:00 pm mass at St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica, the
priests will renew their vows and the Bishop will bless the
oils that will be used in the coming Church year. The entire
diocese is invited to the mass of Chrism.
Confessions...in our parish will take
place Wednesday, April 1st from 2:00 pm
to 3:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Out Event on Saturday, April
25th, 2015 at the Comber
Community Centre. Committee members will be selling
tickets after each mass, March 28th and 29th. Entertainment
by “The Shake Band”. Decadent Dining Tour catered by
“The Iron Kettle B & B”. Tickets are $ 50.00 each which
includes your meal and a chance to win the Grand Prize - a
Trip for 2 to Nashville, TN. Limited tickets available. Must
be 19 years of age. Advance tickets only. Tickets will be
sold on a first come, first served basis. Contact Trish

Please make an effort to help us at these masses. You play a
very important role in every liturgy.
A bilingual Eucharist will
be celebrated at 7 pm, April 2nd. Following the mass of the
Last Supper, there will be Adoration in the Day Chapel until
11:00 pm. All parishioners are encouraged to come and
spend some quiet time in prayer before Jesus. In order to
assure that there is always someone in attendance for
Adoration, the following schedule is recommended.

“Calling all bakers” – At our January general meeting
the ladies voted to bake & contribute dessert to the
upcoming Denim & Diamonds event taking place April
25th. We need at total of “400 squares”, so if you can
bake or donate for this please contact Laurie Lassaline at
519-728-2807 for details. This event will benefit the
visitation building fund.
We are collecting personal hygiene items (“full size”
would be ideal) for a women’s shelter. Items will be
given at the Crowning of Mary ceremony at the
Diocesan Convention in April. If you would like to
donate please put items in a bag and place on the Church
Library counter labelled “For CWL”.
The St. Joachim Cemetery Board is looking
for an individual to do lawn cutting and other
light outdoor jobs. This is a paid position. A
list of duties will be posted on the foyer
bulletin board. Please submit your application
clearly marked St. Joachim Cemetery in the
collection basket or at the parish office.
Ultreya: An April Ultreya for Windsor/Essex County is
being held at Most Precious Blood Parish in Windsor on
Friday, April 10th at 7:30 pm. If you have made a Cursillo
Weekend please come and enjoy an evening of Faithsharing. All Cursillistas are WELCOME!

Easter blooms:
Would you like to remember
a deceased loved one in a special way at Easter time?
We are trying something new…we are offering you the
opportunity to make a donation in memory of someone
special at Easter time by contributing to our Easter
blooms fund. On Easter Sunday, a list of names will
be displayed on the bulletin board and these deceased
will be remembered in the prayer intentions. We hope
to collect enough funds to cover the cost of flowers to
decorate the church at Easter time. Special golden
coloured envelopes are available at the office or on the
welcome desk.
Fleurs de Pâques: Vous pouvez maintenant
faire un don en mémoire de quelqu’un spécial pour
nous aider à défrayer le coût des fleurs qui seront placé
autour de l’autel à Pâques. Vous trouverez des
enveloppes jaune sur la table d’accueil dans l’entrée de
