IAU SUMMER TROUBADOUR #3
"Obsessed with the idea of instant and total integration, we
failed to notice that ordinary people, the citizens of Europe, do
not share our Euro enthusiasm."
Donald Tusk, European Union President
Chers Etudiants,
The result of the British
referendum will be closely watched, and its effects will be felt far beyond this small continent.
We hope to see you at tomorrow night's talk where there will surely be questions about how we
got here and what the aftershocks will be following the yay or nay of the UK population. With his
many years as a consultant within the EU, Professor David Coombes is as good a source as
any, and we look forward to what he has to present on the current dilemma. We'll shift subjects
on Wednesday with Professor Malewska's retrospective on food and the arts. As for weekly
business, we are still short on cell phone info for many students. Please do go to
www.iaustudents.com and submit your number for emergency contact.
Passez une bonne semaine,
Leigh Smith
Dean
