Exchanges between Quebec and France since “Vive le Québec libre
Exchanges between Quebec and France since “Vive le Québec libre” Loic Bourdeau (organizer) In anticipation of 2017 and the 50th anniversary of Charles de Gaulle’s famous “Vive le Québec Libre”, this panel – as part of the 2016 ACQS convention on Exchanges – seeks to investigate the relationships between Quebec and France at a political, cultural, and economic level. What influence does each region have on the other? How have issues of identity and sovereignty evolve since 1967? How and what do they exchange today? Is there a (remaining?) sense of nostalgia toward de Gaulle’s declaration? What remains of the 1967 momentum? Etc. Interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged, especially those dealing with marginal groups (queer, postcolonial, first nation studies). Abstract of 250 words (+ 50-word biography), in French or English, should be sent to [email protected] by April 10, 2016.
