This year for the first time, ISB students will be
participating in the Babson Entrepreneurial
Leadership Academy. Babson College, which is
located in Wellesley, is considered one of the
top undergraduate business schools in the
country and its entrepreneurship program has
consistently been ranked number one by U.S.
News & World Report. The college prides itself
on emphasizing "creativity, imagination, handson learning, and risk taking as essential to
learning the foundation of business," and we
hope that all of these qualities will be
strengthened in our student participants.
The program at ISB will be led by Professor Peter Bagley, the Director
of Babson Entrepreneurial Leadership Academy, who specifically
asked to work with our school. The course begins with an orientation
this coming Monday, September 29, and will run for fourteen weeks,
starting on October 6. In alternating weeks, students will work with
Professor Bagley or with student mentors from Babson. From time to
time, the students will also hear guest speakers, and they will enjoy
online access to the Babson College library.
The response from our students has been very strong, with 23 students
participating from grades 10 and 11 and from both the French and IB
programs. At the heart of the course will be a project that the
students will develop together. They will not only learn about both
business and social entrepreneurship but will also gain valuable
leadership and collaboration skills that can be applied in other areas
and are so important in today's world. As an added bonus, this course
will provide another opportunity for students from our two diploma
programs to work together.

On an entirely different note, I want to
mention that Francis Perrin, the
celebrated actor, writer and film director,
will visit our school the morning of
Monday, October 6. He will meet first with
our Middle School students and then with
the Upper School. A specialist in the plays
of Molière with the Comédie-Française,
Mr. Perrin has also appeared in over 30
films. His visit should be a rare treat for our
students!

Les élèves du LIB participeront pour la première fois cette année
auBabson Entrepreneurial Leadership Academy. Babson College,

d'entrepreneuriat a toujours été classé numéro 1 par le U.S. News &

commencera par une session
d'informationlundi prochain, 29 septembre et

semaines à compter du 6 octobre. Les élèves
travailleront en alternance avec le Professeur
Bagley et des mentors étudiants de Babson.
Nos élèves assisteront également à des
Professeur Bagley
conférences et bénéficieront d'un accès en
ligne à la bibliothèque de Babson College.
L'intérêt porté à ce programme a été très fort, et 23 élèves de
troisième et de seconde, venant aussi bien de la filière française que
de la filière internationale y participent. L'essentiel de la formation
portera sur un projet que les étudiants développeront ensemble. Ils
apprendront non seulement ce qu'est l'entrepreneuriat social et
d'affaires, mais acquerront des compétences recherchées en
leadership et en travail d'équipe, utiles dans tous les domaines et
primordiales dans le monde d'aujourd'hui. Ce sera également une
très bonne occasion pour les étudiants des deux filières de travailler
ensemble.
Sur un sujet tout à fait différent, je tiens à mentionner que Francis
Perrin, le célèbre acteur, scénariste et réalisateur français, sera au LIB
lundi 6 octobre au matin, où il rencontrera les collégiens, puis les
lycéens. Un grand spécialiste de Molière à la Comédie-Française, M.
Perrin a également joué dans plus de 30 films. Sa visite est une
opportunité exceptionnelle pour nos élèves !
