TIGNISH CREDIT UNION
Team “Keough” is the first out of the gate to register for the Family Fun Challenge to be hosted by Hon.
Gail Shea, MP for Egmont, on Saturday, June 9th, at 8:00 p.m., at the Tignish Parish Center. The
Keough’s are certain they will be the team to beat, and are challenging any family that even thinks they can
beat them to get registered and “Bring It On!!!” To register, contact Kendall Hackett at 882-2476. Only 9
teams of 4 will be accepted. No registration fee required!

The relocation of the Municipal Office is back to the original address at 209 Phillip Street. The main

The Council’s Regular Monthly Meeting will be held on Monday, May 14th at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal
Office Board Room at 209 Phillip Street. Please use the side entrance off the Arena entranceway.
FAMILY LEARNING IS FUN!
If you have not done so yet, please register your family for 5 FREE activities of one and half hours in length
that will take place at the Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest starting Tuesday, May 15th. Each of these
sessions will be in a bilingual format for family members who support the child’s learning in French. These
activities are organized for children from newborn to age 8 and will be in French only. To register, please
contact Sylvia at 882-0475, ext. 146.
APPRENDRE EN FAMILLE, C’EST AMUSANT!
Si vous ne l’avez pas déjà fait, inscrivez votre famille à 5 ateliers GRATUIT d’une heure et demie qui
auront lieu au Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest débutant le mardi 15 mai. Ces ateliers se dérouleront
sous un format bilingue pour les membres de la famille qui appuient l’enfant dans ses apprentissages en
français. Les activités organisées sont pour les enfants âgés de la naissance à 8 ans et auront lieu en

Take Off Pounds Sensibly is a non-profit organization to help you lose weight. Whether you have 10
pounds or 100 pounds to lose, come learn how to lose weight sensibly and have fun doing it! We meet
every Tuesday, beginning with weigh-ins from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. and a meeting at 6:30 p.m., at
the Tignish Medical Centre. Please enter through the back entrance. Cost is $30 for the year and $2
every week.

ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY HALL HAPPENINGS
The St. Louis Community Center will host a Bluegrass & Old-Time Concert on Saturday, May 26th, at
7:00 p.m. Admission is $5. There will be five bands performing. A light lunch, tea, and coffee will be
served. A door prize will be given out. Get your money’s worth!
Acoustic jamming every Thursday, at 8:00 p.m. Admission is $3. A light lunch, tea, and coffee will be
served. Bring your instruments and come join us for lots of fun!!!
IWK FESTIVAL IN THE PARK
IWK Festival in the Park will be held at the Bicentennial Park Sunday, May 27th, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00
p.m. Rain location will be the Credit Union Arena. Some of the activities include: music by Joey Doucette,
other local singers, 50/50 draw, raffle tickets, quilt tickets, hotel tickets, BBQ, Cavendish Farms fry cart,
Tim Horton’s coffee, popcorn, candy apples, face painting, balloons, games, and more. Also this year, we
have an Inflatable Train named Chuggy Choo-Choo, Inflatable Obstacle Course, Celebration Bouncy,
cookie decorating, and a teddy bear clinic. Come out and join in the fun and help support this worthy
cause!
BENEFIT BINGO
Le Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest is organizing a bingo on Sunday, May 27th, at 6:00 p.m., at the
Centre. All proceeds will go towards Mr. Dennis Jacques, our school’s Physical Education Teacher, and
his 2 year old daughter, Charlotte. This is to help with expenses due to the passing of his wife, Caroline,
who lost her battle with cancer on April 15th. Admission is $10 adults, $5 students, and $2 children aged 5
and under. Lots of beautiful prizes to be won. We greatly appreciate your support.

Le Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest organise un bingo le dimanche 27 mai à 18h00 au Centre. Tous les
profits viendront en aide à M. Denis Jacques, notre enseignant d’éducation physique, et sa petite fille âgée
de 2 ans, Charlotte. Ceci sera pour les aider avec la perte de son épouse Caroline lors de son décès le 15
avril dernier qui luttait contre le cancer. Prix d’entrée est 10$ adultes, 5$ étudiant et 2$ enfants 5 ans ou
moins. Beaucoup de beaux prix à gagner. Nous apprécions énormément votre support!

ST. FELIX GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
Memberships, 10-round packages, and green fees are available. These are great gifts for birthdays,
graduation, etc.
The first golf tournament is on Sunday, June 3rd. This is a fundraiser for the Relay for Life team. Shot
gun start at 1:00 p.m., 4-person best ball. Great food, i.e., chili and chowders, etc. Sign-up sheet is
