Construction du nouveau quartier général d’AGC Glass Europe

AGC est la branche européenne d’AGC Glass, premier producteur mondial en verre plat.
La direction européenne du groupe AGC et la direction mondiale “verre plat” ont décidé de déménager de leurs bureaux
localisés au 166, Chaussée de La Hulpe à Bruxelles.
Cette décision fait suite à un processus plus large visant à regrouper les directions et administrations des diverses divisions
européennes du groupe en un seul immeuble.
Un terrain a été choisi à Louvain-La-Neuve. Ce terrain particulièrement visible et accessible est localisé à l’entrée de la
ville. A ce titre, AGC souhaite que son nouveau quartier général soit exemplatif et s’inscrive dans le respect des lignes
directives suivantes :
- immeuble “vert” dans sa construction et sa gestion et le plus passif possible,
- bâtiment intemporel de haut niveau, sans être trop luxueux,
- renforcement de la communication informelle,
- innovation,
- utilisation et présentation des produits d’AGC.
Archi 2000 a posé sa candidature en association momentanée avec les bureaux Greisch, Search et Francis Crombez Développement.

AGC is de Europese tak van AGC Glass, eerste wereldproducent van vlakglas.
De Europese directie van de groep AGC en de werelddirectie “vlakglas” hebben beslist om hun kantoren te verhuizen,
gelegen op de Terhulpsesteenweg 166 te Brussel.
Deze beslissing vloeit voort uit een bredere procedure die tot doel heeft de directies en administraties van de verschillende Europese afdelingen van de groep in één enkel gebouw te hergroeperen.
Een perceel grond werd gekozen in Louvain-La-Neuve. Dit bijzonder zichtbare en toegankelijke perceel is gelegen bij het
binnenrijden van de stad. Voor die reden wenst AGC dat zijn nieuw hoofdkwartier als voorbeeld dient en aansluit bij het
naleven van de volgende richtlijnen :
- ‘groen’ gebouw in zijn constructie en zijn beheer en zo passief mogelijk,
- tijdloos gebouw van hoge standing, zonder te luxueus te zijn,
- versterking van de informele communicatie,
- innovatie,
- gebruik en presentatie van de AGC producten.
Archi 2000 heeft zich kandidaat gesteld in tijdelijke vereniging met de kantoren Greisch, Search en Francis Crombez
Développement.

Construction of the new headquarters of AGC Glass Europe

AGC is the European branch of AGC Glass, the biggest manufacturer of flat glass in the world.
The European management of the AGC Group and the global “flat glass” management have decided to move out of their
offices located in 166 Chaussée de La Hulpe in Brussels.
This decision was made in the light of a bigger process aiming to relocate the managements and the administrative departments of the different European divisions of the Group into one single building.
The plot is situated in Louvain-La-Neuve. This particularly visible and accessible plot is located near the entrance to the
city. Because of this visibility and location AGC wants its new headquarters to act as an example and comply with the
following guidelines:
- ‘green’ apartment building, both with regard to the construction and the management and as passive as possible,
- timeless, high-quality building, without being too luxurious,
- reinforcement of the informal communication,
- innovation,
- use and presentation of the AGC products.
Archi 2000, together with the offices Greisch, Search and Francis Crombez Développement as temporary partners, has
applied.
