DOMAINE DE MALAVIEILLE 2010 ROUGE PERMIEN
Situated in the Terrasses du Larzac sub-district of the Coteaux du Languedoc, Domaine de Malavieille has been in
Mirieille Bertrand’s family for 6 generations. It is an estate steeped in tradition, with dinosaur footprints and GalloRoman archeological remains serving as a testament to a long history of the land and its people.
VINEYARDS
Nearly 90 acres at Malavieille, planted to 17 varietals,
most traditional, some new and some startling! Also more
than 50 acres at Le Mas de Bertrand, in Saint Saturnin de
Lucian/Montpeyroux.

SERVE WITH
Excellent with charcuterie, grilled red meats, or roasted
game birds.
APPELLATION
AOC Coteaux du Languedoc.
COMPOSITION
60% Carignan, 20% Grenche, 20% Syrah.
VITICULTURE
Organically and biodynamically farmed. Yields of just 1.8
tons/acre! Sourced 70 year old Carignan vines, 50 year
old Grenache vines and 25 year old Syrah vines.
VINIFICATION
Fermented with native yeasts in traditional concrete vats,
then aged 18 months in 2 and 3 year old French oak
barrels (Vosges, Allier et Tronçais) and 2,000 liter foudres.

TASTING NOTES
Malavieille’s Flagship bottling, in production for more than
20 years and named after the estate’s distinctive red,
Permien clay soils. Offers spicy red fruit, smoke,
camphor, ash and incense on the nose. Medium-bodied
on the palate, with a strong underlying minerality from the
