HEAD OF SCHOOL
Dear Max,
After much discussions, it has been decided to stop the paper
bulletin as it has existed for many years and join the electronic
paper saving world. As of this month, we are limiting the paper
version of our Bulletin only to those members we know have no
internet access.
All others will receive it by email such as this one. We hope you
will understand and continue to read, participate and comment our
events and activities.
If necessary, be sure to print it on your end. It has an excellent
printing function which makes it and useful to keep for certain
events.
The first quarter of the year has been extremely active and the
AFSCV's participation in our community has been noticed.
From our Camus Exhibit at Google's main lobby in Mountain View
to a series of conferences at Santa Clara University, Gunn High
School and coming soon at Notre Dame de Namur University, all
this was made possible thanks the Bank Of the West who has
helped us finance these conferences but most importantly, thanks
to our friends teachers Anne Dumontier, Anne Jensen, Nina Tanti
and board members Anais Saint-Jude, Helene Laroche-Davis and
a new friend and PhD candidate Lorenzo Giachetti

QUARTERLY SESSIONS
Current Session
APRIL MAY JUNE
Nest movie is April 11 with a 2010 unique comedy: Populaire.
Our Language Center has inaugurated with, at the end of each
session of 11 or 12 weeks, the screening of a film in French with
French sub-titles. A nice way of ending demanding French
studies. Each quarterly session will offer a screening on or near
the last day of work. At the location of the school with
refreshments.
Two other important events took place: The visit of the French
President Francois Hollande at San Francisco's Town Hall to
meet Mayor Ed Lee and Lt Gov. Gavin Newsom was a high
moment in February.
In March, the AFSCV and the AF of San Francisco teamed up to
sponsor the 9th edition of the French Fair at the Lucie Stern
Community Center in Palo Alto. Nearly 3000 people visited the 40
stands offering French goodies and services accompanied by
French music by DJ-Olivier. Rendez-vous next year for the 10th
celebration. One not to miss.
Closer to us, this spring comes our 1st French Classical Music
Festival of Silicon Valley.
Next Session starts April 7th

cheer for our French player you've probably never heard of : JeanBaptiste Pierazzi, but he is a legend in Ajaccio, on the island of
Corsica. The center midfielder was captain of AC Ajaccio in Ligue I,

The Cultural Word by Bernadette Theisen
Come and admire
the homemade work of
