Culture:
You will be asked to identify locations on a map of Sénégal. You will be asked to complete
English sentences about Sénégal tourism, geographic or cultural facts. You will be asked to
match phrases in French that describe items from the Sénégalist culture with their descriptions
and/or definitions. You will be asked to write sentences in English that give facts and details
about places and cultural activities in Sénégal.
 Review the information on the geoculture of Sénégal that is at the beginning of the
Chapter in your text.
 Watch the video on the website
Listening:
You will listen to a conversation in French that describes what a young man’s family is wearing
to a wedding. You will need to match the subject with that person’s clothing.
 Review the vocabulary for clothing and the idioms associated with asking about them
and describing them.
 Review the quizlet on clothing vocab
 Listen to the textbook vocabulary. Use the links on the webpage
 Work with the quizlets for the vocabulary that are on the webpage.
Reading and Responding:
You will be asked to read a letter that is written in French about what students wear in Sénégal.
You will then answer some questions in French about that reading.
 Review the verb “mettre” which is used when describing what a person is wearing
instead of “porter”.
 Review the words “D’habitude”, “souvent”, “toujours” so that you are able to make
judgments about the “likelihood” of a statement.
Writing:
You will be asked to respond to the letter that you will be asked to read in another part of the
assessment. You will be asked to discuss what American students, like yourself and your friends
typically wear to school at different times of the year. You will be asked to use the verb
“mettre”.
 Review the conjugation and usage of the verb mettre
 Review the spelling of the clothing we have studied
 Review the spelling of the seasons of the year, and the months, so that you are able to
use these words to “enlarge” your writing.
Grammaire:
 Review demonstrative adjectives ce, cet, cette, ces.



Review the interrogative adjectives quel, quelle, quells, quelles and when to use qu’estce que.
Review the use of –ci and –la with demonstrative adjectives
Use the videos and quizlets on the website to help with our study of the grammar
