Estabilishing a methodology for adressing sustainable development problems based on a life cycle engineering approach and on a strategy for materials and processes selection Development of High Performance Metallic Alloys and microstructure Materials for energy conversion (new metallic alloys for the recovery of low grade heat in industrial processes) Developement of new metallic and composite materials for structures lightening and durabilty Development of eco-efficient processes for sustainable industrial chemical and biochemical engineering involves three core areas: development of last generation separation technologies, evaluation of existing processes in the industry, and application of thermodynamics from the molecular to the industrial scale.
