Currently the company positions itself on three consumer electronics markets: Internet tablets, netbook PCs and MP3/MP4 players. The company’s business model is based on outsourcing the assembling and manufacturing of finished products to third parties and commercialization in nearly 40 countries around the world through a network of 20,000 distributors and retailers. The company has continued innovating despite the difficult economic environment. ANNUAL RESULTS COMMENTARY Annual sales were up by +106% to 171.7M€ thanks to 1) the launch of the th 9 tablet generation 2) the Google certification acquired during the Q4 3) the success of the entry-market Arnova brand and 4) the activity development in the emerging countries. The revenues in Asia (14.5% of group’s sales) grew up by +464% while the European area (69% of group’s sales) was up by +94% and the USA activity (17% of group’s sales) was up by +57%. The group’s gross margin reached 19.2% vs 23.3% penalized by the increasing products distribution with generalist retailers as well as downside pressure on selling prices. The EBIT margin hit 5% vs 0% thanks to a very sound control of the operational charges. At the end of 2011, the net cash position reached 10.7M€ thanks to the 28.8M€ capital increase realized in April 2011. In 2012 the group is positioned on 3 main tablet segments: 1) the Arnova range with tablet prices between 50€ and 150€ 2) the Archos Elements range 100/200€ designed by Archos and certified by Google and 3) the Archos G10xs which is designed by Archos, is slimmer than the new Ipad and includes an ergonomic keyboard. Over the midterm, the management targets a normative gross margin around 20%. Covered by NFinance since January 18th, 2012 Holdings Henry Crohas 10.5% Orsay Ass et Management 4.0% Other Shareholders 82.7% ANALYSIS This press release was under our estimations as we expected a higher gross margin at 23.5%e vs 19.2% published. This discrepancy mainly came from a higher sales distribution toward generalist retailers than expected and a stronger downside effect on prices mainly due to the rapid development of Amazone’s tablets in the low range of the market in our opinion. We estimate the tablet segment positioning targeted by the management in 2012 is very coherent and will enable the group to gain market shares. We think that customers are currently looking for very affordable and very ergonomic products and will be very interested in the new Archos solutions. According to Gartner (sept 2011) the worldwide tablet market will reach 103M units in 2012 up by +58%. In 2012 Archos will sell around 2.9M of tablets up by +80% in our model enabling the group to reach 258.7M€ of total sales over the whole year. In terms of financing, the management put in place a 25M€ equity line with Société Générale over the next 3 years giving the group a very flexible financing solution. We revise upward our DCF midterm expectations to take into account the higher growth potential of the new Archos’ tablets than initially anticipated. VALUATION At 9.7xEV/EBIT2012e and a PEG ratio at 9.2x vs 11.6x for Apple we upgrade our rating from Neutral to Buy as well as our 12 months target price from 7.7€ to 9.9€ per share (DCF 11.8€ WACC 12.3% terminal growth rate +1.0% , Peers 8.0€).
