WINE NOTES
- Aleksandar Milic
In August, the EPC will be starting its first
ever Wine Society. Each month, Wine
Society members will receive a mixed
selection of hand picked wines from around
the world. Most of the wines I choose will
not be available in standard liquor stores.
With each bottle, I will include a small
description of the wine, along with serving
instructions and pairing suggestions. This will be a special
organization within the EPC where members will enjoy
exclusive privileges such as invites to Portfolio Tastings,
discounted rates on certain wines, and a private
wine locker.
The monthly enrollment fee for
the EPC Wine Society will be three-tiered:
Please contact our Member Services Coordinator
Jenn Ubell at 780.474.3411 to become a part of the
EPC Wine Society today.

Given the limited quantity of Friday and Saturday bookings available, we are now offering reduced rates
for Christmas Parties booked between Sunday and Thursday through the months of November and
December. In January, all available dates including Fridays and Saturdays will be discounted.
For dinner, we provide a variety of gourmet holiday menus that include items such as Roast Beef
Tenderloin, delicious Lobster Carpaccio, and Fennel & Artichoke Soup. We also offer more traditional
holiday fare, such as Roast Turkey and Baked Ham. The outstanding cuisine coupled with our attentive
service staff ensures that each guest’s experience will be unforgettable.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT
- JACK LOGAN
Charles Rothman is no longer with the Club. Charles' efforts over the
past couple of years brought the Club into the news and significantly
improved its profile in the community. On behalf of the membership,
the Board of Governors wishes Charles success in his future endeavours.
The Pembina Room

In the interim, as the Board does some soul searching on the future of the Club, Aleksandar
Milic has been appointed Interim Club Manager and will have responsibilities for the front
end of the Club. Patrick Chaudet will remain responsible for the kitchen and Doreen
Prei, Chef de Cuisine, will work with Aleks, Patrick and the Board on the Management
Committee. The Board will not begin the search for a new club manager until the fall.
Member utilization of the Club continues to decline making the Club reliant on catering
and outside events to continue to provide member service. Although special events such
as Lobster Fest and the spectacular wine dinners are well attended by members, regular
dining in the Leduc Room is not sufficient.
The Management Committee will be working along side the Board of Governors to
determine the future of the Club and will be bringing forth alternatives to the membership
at the Annual General Meeting in September. Your input is needed. Should you have
comments on how the Club could better serve you as a member or what it might take to
make the Club your dining room of choice, please send your comments along to Aleks
for review. There is no simple answer.
There will be four positions open on the Board of Governors in September and the Club
needs your input and help. Should you feel you have time to commit, please let us know.

In April of 2014, the EPC
completed renovations
to the Pembina Room,
transforming it into one
of the most beautiful
banquet rooms in the
city.
Freshly modernized, it
now seats 200 guests for
a buffet and 230 for a
plated meal.
Be sure to ask for a tour
next time you are in and
please share the news
with your colleagues,
friends and family, of
this elegant upgrade to
our facility.
