Charles' efforts over the past couple of years brought the Club into the news and significantly improved its profile in the community. On behalf of the membership, the Board of Governors wishes Charles success in his future endeavours. The Pembina Room In the interim, as the Board does some soul searching on the future of the Club, Aleksandar Milic has been appointed Interim Club Manager and will have responsibilities for the front end of the Club. Patrick Chaudet will remain responsible for the kitchen and Doreen Prei, Chef de Cuisine, will work with Aleks, Patrick and the Board on the Management Committee. The Board will not begin the search for a new club manager until the fall. Member utilization of the Club continues to decline making the Club reliant on catering and outside events to continue to provide member service. Although special events such as Lobster Fest and the spectacular wine dinners are well attended by members, regular dining in the Leduc Room is not sufficient. The Management Committee will be working along side the Board of Governors to determine the future of the Club and will be bringing forth alternatives to the membership at the Annual General Meeting in September. Your input is needed. Should you have comments on how the Club could better serve you as a member or what it might take to make the Club your dining room of choice, please send your comments along to Aleks for review. There is no simple answer. There will be four positions open on the Board of Governors in September and the Club needs your input and help. Should you feel you have time to commit, please let us know. I EXPRESS CONSENT Through our online mailing list and monthly newsletter, the Edmonton Petroleum Club is able to send you valuable information regarding our upcoming events and promotions. C O N G R AT S t o D o r e e n Prei for being asked back to the Gold Medal Plates. In April of 2014, the EPC completed renovations to the Pembina Room, transforming it into one of the most beautiful banquet rooms in the city. Freshly modernized, it now seats 200 guests for a buffet and 230 for a plated meal. Be sure to ask for a tour next time you are in and please share the news with your colleagues, friends and family, of this elegant upgrade to our facility. Book Pembina or another one of our versatile spaces for your next event. catering@ edpetroleumclub.com Club Notes p 3 Event Guide July 2014 Sunday 6 13 Notes from the Chef: A carved item will be served at the Lunch Buffet daily Monday & Friday: Chef’s Choice, Tuesday & Thursday: Prime Rib, Wednesday: Corned Beef May 10 - Oct 3: With the Wedding Season, the Leduc Dining Room will be closed on Saturdays for members and guests dining services.
