Widespread drug trafficking can lead to acts of violence, especially in tourist
areas such as the "red light district" of Amsterdam where one should be vigilant.
Internet cafes are particularly vulnerable to computer fraud. Some areas of the
capital have to be avoided as western sections of Sloter, Nieuwezijds
Voorburgmwal and Duivendrecht.
In Rotterdam, one should also be careful in tourist areas, especially near the
central train station and in the southern districts of Feijenoord.
Travel
The road network is good but heavy traffic often causes traffic jams. It is therefore
recommended to use the car parks outside the city and then take public transport.
Cities are often serviced by a wellmaintained rail network.
There are few domestic airlines. However, many international flights are
available, especially from the AmsterdamSchiphol airport.
