He enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces in April 1979. After recruit training at CFB Cornwallis, his first
posting was to CFB Petawawa then he completed his Para Course and posted to 2 CER, Airborne Battle
Group CFB Petawawa. While there he deployed to Cyprus, April to Oct 1981.
He was then posted to 1 CEU at CFB Winnipeg in May 1982 where he completed many projects throughout
Canada including CFS Alert and CFS Bermuda. During his next posting to CFB Kingston May 1985 he was
promoted to MCpl in August 1986 and to Sgt in January 1990 and was employed as the Special Projects Team
leader.
A posting to CFB Trenton in July 1990 was next and while there completed many trips to CFS Alert and CFS
Eureka. Then posted to CFSME, CFB Chilliwack June 1993 as an instructor in the Structures Cell.
Next was CFB Greenwood in July 1997 where he was promoted to Warrant Officer and assigned as the
Airfield Engineer Troop Warrant Officer until 2000. He was then employed in the roles of the Production
Officer, Utilities Officer and Operations Officer. While at CFB Greenwood he deployed to the Golan Heights
August 1998 to February 1999.
Promoted to Master Warrant Officer July 2002 and posted to the newly formed Canadian Forces Joint Support
Group (CFJSG) at CFB Kingston as the PDT Training Officer. Deployed to Dakar, Senegal as part of Op
Augural 2005 and to Lebanon as part of Op Lion 2006.
Then posted back to CFB Greenwood July 2007 as the Utilities Officer and deployed to CFS Alert as the
Station Warrant Officer from December 2007 to June 2008. Promoted to CWO June 2008 and assumed the
duties of CECWO and WLE Branch CWO at CFB Greenwood.
He began the training cycle for Roto 9 July 2009 and deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan in April 2010 to Dec
2010 as the TF Engr ESS CNS Det Comd.
CWO MacDonald was next posted to CFB/ASU Petawawa as the CECWO as of July of 2011. CWO
MacDonald assumed the duties of the S CWO 14 CES Bridgewater NS as of July of 2012.
CWO MacDonald is married to Maggie and they have two grown children, Spencer and Megan.

Il s'est enrôlé dans les Forces Armées Canadiennes en avril 1979. Après la formation des recrues à la BFC
Cornwallis, sa première affectation a été à la BFC Petawawa, puis il a achevé son cours de parachutiste pour
être ensuite affecté au 2iėme RGC, du Groupe d’Air borne de la BFC Petawawa. Durant cette période, il y a
complété un tour à Chypre, d’avril à octobre 1981.
Il a ensuite été affecté au 1 UCE de la BFC Winnipeg en mai 1982 où il a terminé de nombreux projets partout
au Canada, y compris la SFC Alert et SFC Bermudes. Au cours de sa prochaine affectation à la BFC Kingston
en mai 1985 il a été promu au grade de CplC en août 1986 et au grade de Sgt en janvier 1990 où il a été
employé comme superviseur de l’équipe des Projets Spéciaux.
Une mutation à la BFC Trenton en juillet 1990 était de suite, alors qu'il y a effectué de nombreux voyages à la
SFC Alert et de CFS Eureka. Ensuite, muté a l’EGMFC, à la BFC Chilliwack en juin 1993 comme instructeur
dans la section des structures.
Ensuite c’était la BFC Greenwood en juillet 1997 où il a été promu au grade d‘Adj et affecté comme Adj de
troupe du Génie de Construction jusqu'en 2000. Il travaillait alors dans les rôles d’Officier de Production,
Officier des Utilités ainsi qu’Officier des Opérations. Durant cette période, il est déployé au Golan Heights
d’août 1998 à février 1999.
Promu au grade d’Adjum en juillet 2002 il est affecté au nouveau Groupe de Soutien Interarmées des Forces
Canadiennes de la BFC Kingston, le TDP Officier Responsable de la Formation. Déployé à Dakar, au Sénégal,
dans le cadre de l'opération Augural 2005 et au Liban dans le cadre de l’opération Lion en 2006.
De retourne à la BFC Greenwood en juillet 2007 comme Officier des Utilités il est déployé à la SFC Alert
comme Adj de la Station de décembre 2007 à juin 2008. Promu Adjuc en juin 2008 et il a assumé les fonctions
de Adjuc de la section du Génie et Adjuc de la Branch Logistique et Ingénieurs de la 14iėme Escadrille de
Greenwood.
Il a commencé l’entrainement de formation de la Roto 9 en juillet 2009 et est déployée à Kandahar,
Afghanistan en avril 2010 jusqu’en décembre 2010 comme le TF Engr ESS CNS Cmdt dét.
L'Adjuc MacDonald a été ensuite muté à la BFC/USS Petawawa comme Adjuc de la section du Génie en
juillet 2011. L'Adjuc MacDonald a assumé les fonctions d’Adjuc d’Escadron de la 14iėme Escadron de Génie
de Construction à Bridgewater, Nouvelle-Ecosse en juillet de l'année 2012.
L'Adjuc MacDonald est marié à Maggie et ils ont deux enfants adultes, Spencer et Megan.
