Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt ist zum Anschluss an einen IBM-kompatiblen PC mit USB-Schnittstelle vorgesehen und dient dort zur Audio-Ausgabe (Stereo oder 5.1-Analog-Audio).
Treiber-Installation
Zum einwandfreien Betrieb über den USB-Port ist mindestens Windows 98 nötig. Es gibt zwar
auch eine Windows 95-Version, auf deren CD steht "...mit USB-Unterstützung", diese ist aber
nicht in der Lage, den Betrieb der USB-Audio-Box sicherzustellen.
Windows erkennt das Gerät automatisch. Folgen Sie allen Anweisungen von Windows. Die
nötigen Treiber-Dateien sind in Windows enthalten.
Auf der mitgelieferten CD sind keine Treiber zu finden, sondern nur zusätzliche Software, wie
z.B. die DVD-Player-Software.
Bei Windows ME belassen Sie bei der Hardware-Erkennung die Voreinstellung "Automatisch
nach dem besten Treiber suchen (empfohlen)" und klicken auf "Weiter".
Windows installiert dann die eigenen Treiber.
Bitte beachten Sie: Es kann bis zu 5 Minuten dauern, bis Windows alle
nötigen Treiberdateien installiert hat. Das Fenster des HardwareAssistenten ist dabei bereits geschlossen - nichts deutet auf den
Kopiervorgang hin, nur die Festplatte läuft noch ein paar Mal.
Wird der Kopiervorgang durch einen Neustart unterbrochen, kann es zu
Problemen kommen.
Warten Sie einfach die ca. 5 Minuten ab, bis die Festplatte nicht mehr
läuft.
Während dieser Zeit kann es evtl. auch vorkommen, dass im
Gerätemanager in der Systemsteuerung zusätzlich zum Audiogerät ein
gelbes Ausrufezeichen erscheint. Entfernen Sie es nicht, warten Sie einfach die paar Minuten ab.

Proper Use
The product is designed to be connected to an IBM compatible PC with USB interface and there outputs audio signals (stereo or 5.1- analogue audio).

Installing the Software on the CD-ROM
If the installation menu does not start automatically after you have inserted the CD-ROM in the
CD-ROM drive, you must activate the "Auto. exe" on the CD-ROM.
Connections and Controls
The "WinDVD" software serves for replaying DVDs, "Gammut" is a software for MP3 players
and the "Speaker- Test" can be used to check the correct setup of the speakers.
The procedure may differ slightly if newer versions of the software are used, or different software is supplied.

USB-Anschluss
Verbinden Sie ihn mit einem freien USB-Port Ihres PCs.
Eingang
An diesem Eingang kann ein Gerät mit Line-Signal (CD-Player, Cassettendeck, Tuner) oder
ein PC-Mikrofon angeschlossen werden.
Über die Taste "MIC" kann zwischen Line- und Mic-Pegel umgeschaltet werden.
Das an dem Eingang anliegende Audiosignal wird dann direkt an die Ausgänge weitergeleitet, eine Aufnahme des Signals am PC ist deshalb nicht möglich! Das Audiosignal wird
übrigens mit dem PC-Audiosignal zusammengemischt & ausgegeben (z.B.
Hintergrundmusik vom PC und Sprache über das Mikrofon!).
• Ist im PC bereits eine Soundkarte vorhanden, so ist in den Audio-Eigenschaften das
Wiedergabegerät (Soundkarte oder USB-Audio-Box) zu wählen!
Klicken Sie dazu auf das Lautsprechersymbol in der Menüleiste und wählen Sie
"Audioeigenschaften einstellen". Wählen Sie dann bei "Wiedergabe" das bevorzugte Gerät.
• Das am Eingang "LINE/MIC" der USB-Audio-Box anliegende Audiosignal kann nicht an den
PC übertragen werden. Es wird nur auf den Ausgang hinzugemischt (z.B. für Karaoke,
Ansagen o.ä.).
5.1-Ausgänge
Die drei 3.5mm-Stereoklinkenbuchsen liefern beim Abspielen von entsprechenden DVDs
(über die mitgelieferte DVD-Playersoftware) das analoge 5.1-Signal. Schließen Sie die
Ausgänge z.B. an Ihrem 5.1-Lautsprechersystem an oder an einem Verstärker mit analogem 5.1-Eingang.
Normale Audiowiedergabe ist ebenfalls möglich, an den Rear- und Center/SubwooferAnschlüssen ("REAR" und "C/LFE") liegt dann aber kein Audiosignal an.
Nutzen Sie dazu den speziellen Surround-Modus (Taste "SUR" drücken, LED "SUR" leuchtet auf) ; hier werden die normalen Audio-Signale auch über die anderen Ausgänge
("Rear", "C/LFE") wiedergegeben.
Control keys
The "MUTE" key turns the audio outputs mute (LED "PWR" flashes), the "SUR" button
offers a special surround sound mode for normal audio signals and the "MIC" key switches
the input level of the input (l) between "LINE" and "MIC".
• If there is already a soundcard in the PC, the replaying device must be selected in the audio
options (soundcard or USB audio box)!
For this purpose, right-click the speaker icon on the taskbar and select "Adjust audio properties". Under "Playback" select the preferred device.
• The audio signal applying at the "LINE/ MIC" input of the USB audio box cannot be transferred to the PC. It is only mixed onto the output (e.g. for karaoke, speeches etc).
USB connection
Connect it to an empty USB port of your PC.
Input
You can connect an appliance with Line signal to this input (CD player, cassette player,
tuner) or a PC microphone.
Use the "MIC" key to switch between Line and MIC level.
The audio signal applying at the input is then directly forwarded to the outputs; thus the
signal cannot be recorded on the PC! By the way, the audio signal is mixed & output with
the PC audio signal (e.g. background music from the PC and spoken sounds via the microphone!)
5.1 Outputs
The three 3.5mm stereo jack sockets deliver the analogue 5.1 signal when playing the corresponding DVDs (via the supplied DVD player software). Connect the outputs e.g., to your
5.1 speaker system or to an amplifier with analogue 5.1 input.
Normal audio replay will then also be possible. However, the rear, centre and subwoofer
terminals ("REAR” und C/LFE") will not be supplied with an audio signal.
Use the special surround mode for this purpose (press the "SUR" button, the "SUR" LED
lights up); here the normal audio signals are also available via the other outputs (" Rear",
"C/ LFE").
LEDs
Die LED "PWR" leuchtet, wenn das Gerät über den USB-Port mit Strom versorgt wird (bzw.
blinkt, wenn über die Taste "MUTE" die Stummschaltung aktiviert ist). die LED "SUR"
leuchtet, wenn der Surround-Modus aktiviert ist und die LED "MIC" leuchtet, wenn der
Eingangspegel auf "MIC" (Mikrofon) umgeschaltet ist.
LED
The "PWR" LED is lit when the device is powered via the USB port (or flashes when the
mute function is activated via the "MUTE" button). The "SUR" LED is lit when the surround
sound is active and the "MIC” LED is on when the input level is set to "MIC” (microphone).
Anschluss an den USB-Port
Schalten Sie Ihren PC ein und warten Sie, bis das Betriebssystem vollständig geladen ist.

• If the USB audio box does not work on a USB hub, try to connect it directly to the USB port of
your PC.
• After the hardware has been detected, wait for approximately five minutes because Windows
installs additional system components during this time.
Restart your computer afterwards.
• Falls die USB-Audio-Box an einem USB-Hub nicht funktioniert, so schließen Sie sie versuchsweise direkt an einem USB-Port Ihres PCs an.

Please note: Windows may need up to five minutes to install all necessary driver files. The window of the Add New Hardware Wizard is closed
during the installation process, nothing else indicates that a copying process is running. Only the hard disk runs several times.
If you interrupt the copying process by restarting your computer, problems may occur.
Wait for 5 minutes and the hard disk does not run anymore.
During this time the Device Manager in the Control Panel displays a yellow
exclamation mark next to the audio device. Do not remove it. Simply wait
a few minutes.
No additional sound card is necessary to operate the USB audio box.

Bedientasten
Die Taste "MUTE" schaltet die Audioausgänge stumm (LED "PWR" blinkt), die Taste "SUR"
bietet einen speziellen Surround-Modus bei normalen Audiosignalen und die Taste "MIC"
schaltet den Eingangspegel des Eingangs (l) zwischen "LINE" und "MIC" um.
Windows detects the device automatically. Follow the instruction given by Windows. The
necessary driver files are included in Windows.
The supplied CD-ROM only contains software (such as the DVD player software).
If you are working under Windows ME, leave the default setting of the hardware detection to
"Find the best driver for the device (recommended)” and click "Next”. Windows now installs
its own drivers.
Afterwards you must restart Windows!

Die Software "WinDVD" dient zum Abspielen von DVDs, "Gammut" ist eine MP3-PlayerSoftware und der "Speaker-Test" kann zur Kontrolle der korrekten Aufstellung der
Lautsprecher dienen.
Möglicherweise ist die Vorgehensweise bei neueren Versionen der Software anders, evtl. liegt
dort auch eine andere Software bei.
Installing the Drivers
The operation via the USB port requires at least Windows 98. Although a Windows 95 version
is available with USB support, the USB audio box will not work properly under this operating
system.

Branchements et touches de réglage
Windows détecte automatiquement l’appareil. Suivez toutes les instructions de Windows. Les
fichiers pilotes requis sont compris dans les système d’exploitation Windows, le cédérom
compris ne contient donc pas de logiciel de pilotage mais seulement des logiciels supplémentaires comme par ex. le logiciel pour le lecteur de DVD.
Pour Windows ME ne changez pas pendant la détection du matériel le réglage prévu «
Chercher automatiquement le meilleur pilote (conseillé) » et cliquez sur le bouton "Continuer".
Windows va ensuite installer ses propres pilotes.
Attention : Il est possible que l’installation de toutes les données pilotes
par Windows dure jusqu’à 5 minutes. La fenêtre de l’assistant de la hardware est déjà fermée et rien ne signale que les données sont copiées. Le
disque dur démarre seulement plusieurs fois.
Si le processus de copie est interrompu par un redémarrage ceci peut entraîner des problèmes.
Attendez simplement environ 5 minutes jusqu’à ce que le disque dur ne
tourne plus.
Pendant ce temps il se peut qu’un point d’exclamation jaune apparaisse
en plus de l’appareil audio dans le gestionnaire des périphériques dans le
panneau de configuration. Ne l’enlevez pas mais attendez simplement ces
quelques minutes.

Installation du pilote
Windows 98 au moins est nécessaire au fonctionnement irréprochable sur le port USB. La version Windows 95, sur le cédérom de laquelle est écrit "...avec le support de USB", n’est cependant pas capable de garantir le bon fonctionnement de la boîte audio USB.

Il est possible que des versions plus récentes du logiciel vous donnent d’autres instructions ou
qu’un logiciel différent soit livré.

• Au cas où la boîte audio USB ne fonctionnerait pas branché sur un Hub USB, essayez en le
branchant directement à un port USB de votre PC.

Entrée
Un appareil au signal line (lecteur de CD, magnétophone à cassette, tuner) ou un microphone pour PC peuvent être raccordés à cette entrée.
La touche "MIC" permet de commuter entre Line et Mic.
Le signal audio qui arrive à l’entrée est passé directement aux sorties, il n’est donc pas
possible d’enregistrer ces signaux dans le PC ! Le signal audio est d’ailleurs reproduit mélangé avec le signal audio du PC (par ex. musique de fond du PC en même temps que la
voix par microphone !)
• Après la détection du matériel il faut attendre environ 5 minutes car d’autres éléments du
système sont installés pendant ce temps par Windows.
Redémarrez Windows.
• Si le PC dispose déjà d’une carte son, choisissez dans les caractéristiques audio l’appareil
de reproduction (carte son ou boîte audio USB) !
Pour cela, vous cliquez sur le symbole haut-parleur dans la barre de menus et choisissez
"Régler caractéristiques audio". Sélectionnez l’appareil préféré dans "Reproduction".
• Le signal audio appliqué à l’entrée "LINE/ MIC" de la boîte audio ne peut pas être transmis
au PC. Ce signal est ajouté sur la sortie (par ex. pour Karaoké, modération, etc.).

Touches de réglage

Windows herkent het apparaat automatisch. Volg alle aanwijzingen op het scherm op. De
benodigde driverbestanden zijn een onderdeel van Windows.
Op de meegeleverde CD bevinden zich geen stuurprogramma´s, wel bijkomende software
zoals b.v. DVD Player Software.
Laat bij Windows ME bij de Wizard Nieuwe hardware de instelling "Zoeken naar het beste stuurprogramma (aanbevolen)" ingesteld en klik op "Volgende".
Windows installeert dan de stuurprogramma´s.
Let op: het kan tot en met 5 minuten duren vooraleer Windows alle benodigde driverbestanden geïnstalleerd heeft. Het venster van de Wizard
Nieuwe hardware zal hierbij reeds gesloten zijn – er zijn geen aanduidingen ervoor dat nog gekopieerd wordt, enkel de harde schijf is actief.
Indien u tijdens het kopiëren de computer herstart kan dit problemen veroorzaken. Wacht gewoon ca. 5 minuten tot de harde schijf niet meer actief
is.
Tijdens deze tijdspanne kan het gebeuren, dat in Apparaatbeheer bij
Configuratiescherm samen met het audio-apparaat een geel uitroepteken
verschijnt. Haal dit niet weg, maar wacht gewoon een tijdje.

Voor een onberispelijke werking via de USB poort is ten minste Windows 98 noodzakelijk. Er
bestaat weliswaar een Windows 95 versie met de vermelding "...met USB-ondersteuning" op
de CD. Deze versie is echter niet in staat om een juiste werking van de USB Audio Box te waarborgen.
• Wacht na het einde van de Wizard Nieuwe hardware ca. 5 minuten daar Windows in deze
tijdspanne verdere systeemonderdelen installeert.
Start pas daarna Windows opnieuw op.
Bedientoetsen
De toets "MUTE" zet de audio-uitgangen op mute (LED "PWR" knippert), de toets "SUR"
biedt een speciale surroundmodus bij gewone audiosignalen en de toets "MIC" schakelt
het ingangsniveau van de ingang (l) om tussen "LINE" en "MIC".
• Is er in uw PC reeds een geluidskaart moet u bij de audio eigenschappen het weergave apparaat kiezen (geluidskaart of USB Audio Box)!
Klik hiertoe op het luidsprekersymbool in de taakbalk om de eigenschappen voor audio in te
stellen. Kies dan bij "Afspelen" het voorkeursapparaat.
USB aansluiting
Verbind het apparaat met een vrije USB poort van uw PC.
• Het audiosignaal van de USB Audio Box dat aan de ingang "LINE/MIC" geleverd wordt kan
niet doorgestuurd worden naar de PC. Het wordt enkel op de uitgang toegevoegd (b.v. voor
karaoke, aankondigingen e.d.).
Ingang
Op deze ingang kunt u een apparaat met Line signaal (CD-speler, cassettedeck, tuner) of
een PC-microfoon aansluiten.
Via de toets "MIC" kunt u tussen het Line en Mic niveau omschakelen.
Het audiosignaal aan de ingang wordt dan direct naar de uitgangen doorgestuurd, een
opname van het signaal met de PC is daarom niet mogelijk! Het audiosignaal wordt met
het PC audiosignaal gemixt (b.v. achtergrondmuziek van de PC en geluid via de microfoon).
5.1 uitgangen
De drie 3.5mm stereo aansluitingen leveren bij het afspelen van geschikte DVD´s (via de
meegeleverde DVD Player Software) het analoge 5.1 signaal. U kunt de uitgangen b.v. op
uw 5.1 luidsprekersysteem of een versterker met analoge 5.1 ingang aansluiten.
Normale audioweergave is tevens mogelijk, er wordt dan evenwel geen audiosignaal geleverd aan de Rear en Center/Subwoofer aansluitingen ("REAR" en "C/LFE").
Gebruik hiervoor de speciale surroundmodus (druk op de toets "SUR", de LED "SUR" zal
branden); bij deze modus worden de normale audiosignalen ook via de andere uitgangen
("Rear" en "C/LFE") weergegeven.
Sorties 5.1
Les trois douilles jack stéréo 3.5mm permettent la sortie du signal analogique 5.1 lors de
la reproduction de DVD correspondants (au moyen du logiciel pour lecture de
DVD).Connectez les sorties par ex. à votre système de haut-parleurs 5.1 ou à un amplificateur avec entrée analogique 5.1.
La reproduction audio normale est également possible, mais dans ce cas aucun signal
audio ne sort des branchements Rear et Center/Subwoofer ("REAR" et "C/LFE").
Pour cela vous pouvez utiliser le mode spécial Surround (activez la touche "SUR", le voyant LED "SUR" s’allume) ce qui permet la sortie des signaux audio normaux également par
les autres sorties ("REAR", "C/LFE").
LED´s
De LED "PWR" brandt als het apparaat via de USB poort van stroom voorzien wordt (of
knippert als de mutefunctie geactiveerd werd via de toets "MUTE"). De LED "SUR" brandt
als de surroundmodus actief is, de LED "MIC" brandt als het ingangsniveau naar "MIC"
(microfoon) omgeschakeld wordt.
Voyants LED
Le voyant LED "PWR" s’allume si l’appareil est alimenté en courant par le port USB (ou il
clignote si le mode silencieux est activé au moyen de la touche "MUTE"). Le voyant LED
"SUR" s’allume si le mode Surround a été activé, et le LED "MIC" s’allume si le niveau
d’entrée a été commuté sur "MIC" (microphone).
