Creating art for meaningful

Teresa Beth Hough grew up in southern United States
with the best of both worlds—country roads and cousins in
the city. Who needs a Hummer when at 16 you can drive
yourself and lots of friends in a big orange school bus?
After university her goal of being an art educator
dimmed when her first solo show garnered the attention of
30,000 visitors in one summer. This resulted in a commission
requests that continued with her through a dozen moves
in four countries. With proficiency in eight media she delighted in the variety of work and portability. She operated
her own gallery and frame shop to regional success and
leveraged a buyout for her move to New York City before
moving on to Europe to study in European art academies
& museums.
Her current studio is in Belgium where her art flourishes among the region’s rich history and views coveted
by every artist—unique vistas, federally protected from
any obstructions being built upon them. When not in her
studio painting with traditional materials and methods, she
indulges in plein air further afield and takes in a generous
choice of museums and international cultural institutions
to absorb the work & ideology of artists past and present.

We meet to go over the simple process and
together explore preferences & possibilities, if possible
at the location where the portrait will be carried out.
Once size and subject matter are determined I present a summary and project a finish date.

PORTRAITS
Sittings are scheduled for about 3 hours with
short breaks at regular intervals. I prefer to work from
life but photography plays a subordinate role in the
initial aesthetic decisions or when working with animals
or children. The sitting frequency can be weekly or
more often.
Once completed, including sufficient drying
time, the painting is delivered within reasonable driving range or shipped. Long distance travel, shipping
and framing, if applicable, are arranged at standard
rate.
Payments can be spaced in two or three intervals or paid in full. Prices and preferred currency are
in Euros however other arrangements are possible if
discussed in advance.

even over landscape, they are really the
