Mes chers élèves de Français 4H,
Après tout votre travail cette année, on ne veut surtout pas que vous oubliez votre français pendant les
grandes vacances ! C’est pour cela que je vous ai préparé un petit travail d’été. Cette année, vous aurez
(will have) quelques petits exercices auditifs et de révision à faire (vocabulaire et grammaire) .
Avec cette lettre, vous recevez le fascicule d’exercices et la gille de travail qui donne une liste des activités
à faire pendant l’été. Le premier jour d’école, vous devez apporter votre travail complété à votre classe
de français pour rendre (hand in) à la prof. Vous allez recevoir une note pour votre travail et la note sera
(will be) une réflexion de votre effort. Alors, travaillez bien !
Comme Victor Hugo a dit autrefois « Lire, c’est voyager ». Voyageons ensemble cet été et amusons-nous

Call my Google Voice number: 973-512-8115. Greet me in French and tell me your first name and last
name. Talk for a minute or two about your summer vacation activities up to this point, talk about family,
friends, weather, your job, movies or books, travel, daily routine, etc. Use a variety of tenses and
grammar. Just keep talking! Do not use any notes. Draw pictures instead to remind yourself.
Duolingo (60 points)








Duolingo is free online software that will help you with your foreign language learning.
Go to: www.duolingo.com . Sign up for a new account using your school-sponsored email
address (not Facebook!).
Create a "serious" username: Firstname.Lastname, and don't forget your password! Use
something you know by heart.
You may also optionally download a free phone app (iPhone or Android). If you use your phone,
you need to enable your speakers and microphone (on iPhone: Settings-->Privacy-->
Microphone, turn on for Duolingo).
Once you create a new account. Take their tour. Click through the screens until you reach the
home page.
Do not use the Placement Test to skip lessons. You need to do all of the lessons, no matter how
basic.
You will need to get up to level 14, or 6000 XP, in order to receive full credit.
ONE LAST AND IMPORTANT THING:
o You need to “add me” as a friend using my email address: [email protected] or my

o Use the search bar on the right hand corner in the box marked “Friends” to search my
name
o (By "inviting" me, I can monitor your progress and give you your completion grade.)
Listening/Viewing practice (20 points)
Regardez un film français (ou francophone) – not an American film with a French soundtrack. You may
watch it with subtitles but please watch the movie in FRENCH. Write a short critique (10 sentences
minimum) where you briefly summarize the plot (l’intrigue) and give your personal opinion of the film.
***There are MANY French movies and TV shows on Netflix***

Also, les revenants is a popular French TV series that I think you will all enjoy that is also available on
Netflix.
If you do not have access to French movies or Netflix, use YouTube, go to the library and rent a movie,
or use some of the links below to watch various French videos and summarize what you saw.
