Chers collègues et amis
Greetings from the Netherlands where
the executive committee is meeting to
make the final preparations for next August’s Congress. As we make our final
plans, I am convinced that the Eindhoven
Congress will be among the happiest and
best remembered.
At Santa Clara we announced that Congress XIX would be held in Hoeven. Midstream, the site was sold and there was
no assurance that we would be able to
use the site for the Congress. Council
then decided to move to De Koningshof,
a former monastery now an hotel on the
outskirts of Eindhoven. This is a modern
facility with such amenities as bathrooms
en suite, a pool, fitness centre and sauna.
The cuisine is varied and delicious. As a
result, we will for the first time be paying
commercial rates for our use of the auditorium and the lecture rooms. In addition
to this, another big part of our overall

A Santa Clara nous vous annoncions que
le XIXème Congrès se tiendrait à Hoeven.
Mais en cours de route le site a été mis
en vente; désormais nous n'étions plus
assurés de pouvoir l'utiliser pour notre
Congrès. Aussi le Conseil a-t-il décidé de
le déplacer à De Koninghof, un ancien
monastere transformé en hôtel dans les
abords d'Eindhoven. Les équipements
sont modernes avec des agréments tels
que salles de bain, piscine, centre fitness
et sauna. La cuisine y est variée et délicieuse. Par conséquent nous nous verrons
appliquer les tarifs en vigueur dans la
branche pour l'utilisation de l'auditorium
et des salles de conférence. A cela s'ajou-

Herzliche Grüße aus den Niederlanden,
wo das „Exekutiv-Komitee“ versammelt
ist, um die letzten Vorbereitungen für den
nächsten Kongress zu treffen. Je mehr wir
die konkreten Einzelheiten planen, um so
mehr bin ich überzeugt, dass der Eindhoven-Kongress ein guter und unvergesslicher Kongress werden wird.
In Santa Clara wurde angekündigt, dass
der 19. Kongress in Hoeven stattfinden
werde. Das dortige Tagungshaus wurde
jedoch zwischenzeitlich verkauft, so dass
keine Gewähr bestand, dass wir es für unseren Kongress nutzen konnten. Daraufhin beschloss der Rat, den Kongress
nach De Konigshof zu verlegen, einem
Hotel am Stadtrand von Eindhoven, das
früher einmal ein Kloster war. Es ist eine
moderne Anlage, die Zimmer sind mit WC
und Dusche ausgestattet, es gibt ein Schwimmbad, einen Fitnessraum und eine
Sauna. Die Küche ist vielseitig und gepf-

wish, however, to remain faithful to seeing that Societas continues to function in
its three official languages.
The number and size of grants and subsidies varies tremendously depending on
the political and ecclesiastical situation of
the host country. In this instance, we will
not be able to subsidize the costs for participants as we have been able to do in
the recent past. As a result, in a situation
where we are paying “real” prices, we
consider ourselves extremely fortunate to
have been able to keep the cost of the
Congress at a level that is not much higher those at Santa Clara.
From the number of Case Study proposals received, it is clear that the theme of
the Congress is attracting considerable interest. Some seventy proposals for Case
Studies were received – several dozen
more than in the recent past.
While the road to planning the Congress
has not been without its difficulties, I am
confident that the Congress will be a very
successful one. The friendly, service-minded staff at De Koningshof and the careful preparations and hospitality of the National (Local) Committee augur well for
the success of the Congress. I look forward to welcoming you in Eindhoven and
hope that Congress XIX will be numbered
among the best.

du matériel de traduction simultanée.
Nous souhaitons pourtant rester fidèles à
l'option de la Societas à l'endroit de ses
trois langues officielles.
Quant au nombre et à l'importance des
aides et autres subventions, elles varient
énormément en fonction de la situation
politique et ecclésiale du pays qui nous
reçoit. Aussi ne serons-nous plus à même
de subsidier les frais des participants
comme nous pûmes le faire encore récemment. En fin de compte, vu que nous
devons régler nos dépenses au prix coûtant, nous nous estimons fort heureux
d'avoir pu maintenir les frais du Congrès
à un niveau de peu plus élevé que celui
de Santa Clara.
Le nombre d'études de cas rentrés à ce
jour démontre que le thème du Congrès
suscite un intéret considérable. Nous
avons reçus en effet une septantaine de
propositions pour les études de cas, soit
une douzaine de plus que d'habitude.
Quand bien même la mise en place du
Congrés ne s'est pas réalisée sans difficultés, je reste persuadée que le Congrès
sera un succès. La cordialité de l'équipe
de service à De Konninghof ainsi que la
préparation méticuleuse et l'accueil du
Comité national (local) laissent augurer
de la bonne issue du Congrès. J'attends
déjà de vous accueillir à Eindhoven, espérant que le XIXème Congrès figurera au
nombre des meilleurs.

die übrigen Konferenzräume zahlen. Die
Kosten für die Simultanübersetzungs-Anlage ist ein weiterer großer Posten (ca.
10.000 € ), der sich auf die Kongressgebühr auswirkt.
Wegen der politischen und kirchlichen Situation unseres Gastlandes können wir
diesmal nicht mit substantiellen Zuwendungen rechnen. Aus diesem Grund
wird es nicht möglich sein, die Kongresskosten zu bezuschussen, wie wir das
in der Vergangenheit tun konnten. In einer Situation, in der wir reelle Preise zahlen müssen, sind wir froh, dass die Gesamtkosten pro Person nicht wesentlich
höher sind als in Santa Clara.
Die Anzahl der Objektstudien zeigt, dass
das Kongressthema auf lebhaftes Interesse stößt. Über 70 Anmeldungen für Objektstudien liegen uns vor, wesentlich
mehr als je zuvor. Obwohl die Planung
dieses Kongresses nicht ohne Schwierigkeiten verlief, bin ich doch zuversichtlich, dass es ein gelungener Kongress
werden wird. Die freundliche Hilfsbereitschaft des Mitarbeiterstabs von De Koningshof und die Gründlichkeit und Gastfreundschaft des Nationalen Vorbereitungskomitees werden den Erfolg des
Kongresses gewährleisten. Ich freue mich
auf Ihr Kommen und hoffe, dass der 19.
Kongress in Eindhoven zu den besten
zählen wird.

WILLKOMMEN IN DEN NIEDERLANDEN
It is our pleasure as members of the national committee to welcome you to the XIX
Congress of Societas Liturgica, The Cloud
of Witnesses. It has been thirty-six years
since a Congress of the Societas has met
in the Netherlands (Driebergen, 1967).
Over these years the country has changed
dramatically: the population has grown to
about 16 million, many immigrants have
settled, bringing their own, and often different, cultures with them. General prosperity has increased. Secularisation also
made strong advances. The established
churches have diminished - more than
50% of the population does not belong to
any church. Church buildings have been
closed and put to other uses: as musea,
shops, libraries, concert halls or converted
into apartments. In the meantime the influence of the Liturgical and of the Ecumenical Movement has become stronger in
the churches. Composers, poets, architects, ministers and priests gave shape to
the renewal of the liturgy; new Servicebooks and Hymn-books have been published. Three protestant churches (the Dutch
Reformed Church, the Reformed Churches
in the Netherlands and the Evangelical-

bienvenue au XIXème Congrès de la Societas Liturgica, Une nuée de témoins. Trente-six ans ont passé depuis le dernier congrès de la Societas aux Pays-Bas (Driebergen, 1967). Durant ce temps le pays a
changé de façon spectaculaire: la population a atteint le chiffre des 16 millions; de
nombreux immigrants se sont établis apportant avec eux leur propre culture, souvent si différente. La prospérité globale
s'est accrue. De même la sécularisation a
fait de grands pas. Les Eglises institutionnelles ont vu leurs adhérents diminuer plus de 50 % de la population n'a plus
d'appartenance ecclésiale. Des églises ont
été fermées et mises hors d'usage, converties en musées, magasins, bibliothèques,
salles de concerts ou en appartements. Au
même moment pourtant l'influence du
mouvement liturgique et ocuménique a
fait sentir fortement ses effets au sein des
Eglises. Compositeurs, poètes, architectes,
ministres et prêtres ont donné forme au
renouveau de la liturgie; de nouveaux livres pour les offices et pour les chants furent publiés. Trois Eglises protestantes
(L'Eglise Réformée Hollandaise, les Eglises

fand (als Gründungskongress der Societas)
1967 in Driebergen statt. In diesen 36 Jahren hat sich unser Land dramatisch verändert: Die Bevölkerung ist auf 16 Millionen
angewachsen; zahlreiche Einwanderer haben sich bei uns niedergelassen; sie brachten ihre eigenen, oft so andersartigen Kulturen mit sich. Der Wohlstand hat zugenommen. Die Säkularisierung schritt gewaltig voran. Die großen Kirchen sind kleiner geworden - mehr als die Hälfte der Bevölkerung
gehört keiner Kirche mehr an. Kirchengebäude wurden geschlossen oder anderen
Nutzungen zugeführt: als Museen, Läden,
Bibliotheken, Konzertsäle, oder sie wurden
umgebaut zu Wohnanlagen. Andererseits
haben die Liturgische und die Ökumenische
Bewegung in den Kirchen an Einfluss gewonnen. Komponisten, Dichter, Architekten,
kirchliche Amtsträger haben die Erneuerung
der Liturgie geprägt. Neue Agenden und Gesangbücher sind erschienen. Drei protestantische Kirchen (die Niederländische Reformierte Kirche, die Reformierten Kirchen in
den Niederlanden und die Evangelisch-Lut-

Lutheran Church) are uniting into one Protestant Church in the Netherlands. During
the last decades new churches and groups
have grown: frequently evangelical, charismatic or pentecostal in character and often
composed of immigrants. At the same time, Islam has become an undeniable reality. In the meanwhile, an abundancy of rituals - secular, profane and sacred - have
bloomed. They have been labelled with
terms as ‘wild devotion’, ‘religious static’,
‘the faith of the godless’, ‘new religiosity’,
&c.
Liturgists in the Netherlands meet each
other in the Liturgical Institute (University
of Tilburg), in a subsection of the Netherlands School for Advanced Studies in Theology and Religion (NOSTER), as well as in
ecclesiastical bodies. The research programme of the Liturgical Institute brings
together nearly all liturgical research; the
Institute has a coordinating function for activities in the field of liturgical studies. The
programme is characterised by a multidiscplinary and ecumenical approach to liturgy. The keynote lecture of Willem Frijhoff and the nine Dutch Case Studies at
the Congress will give a good example of
the profile of liturgical research in the Netherlands.
Our congress will be held at NH De Koningshof Hotel (‘the King’s Garden Hotel’).
Built in 1951 as a convent and girls’ boarding school of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart, it has, since the 1970s, been run as an
hotel of the international NH group. The
foundation stone of the Chapel can still be
seen in one of the foyers of the hotel. It reads (in Dutch): ‘Here the promise of the
Sacred Heart was fulfilled: I will pour out
abundant blessings on all their activities’.
Our morning- and evening prayers will be
sung in the former chapel which is now
commonly used as a dining room. We will
turn it again into a chapel - the organ is
still there and can be played (although the
manager of the hotel did not know that!).
In this spacious room the stained glass
window, depicting the creation of the universe and of Adam and Eve, remains in
place. In short, our meeting place is exemplarily for the Dutch situation of church
and society.
The excursion to Utrecht, in the middle
of the country, will acquaint you with our
religious past. We will visit some of the
churches which in the Middle Ages formed
a cross within the heart of the city. But you
will also see where we are now: a medieval church converted for use as a museum
of barrel organs. The Congress eucharist
will be celebrated in the gothic Domkerk.
The day’s excursion will conclude with an
Indonesian meal, a reflection of the colonial past of the Netherlands, that lasted
until 1945/49.

Réformées des Pays-Bas et l'Eglise Evangélique-Luthérienne) se sont réunies en une
Eglise Protestante des Pays-Bas. Durant les
dernières décades de nouvelles Eglises ont
vu le jour ainsi que de nouveaux groupes:
évangéliques le plus souvent, de type charismatique ou pentecôtiste, et fréquemment composées d'immigrants. Au même
moment l'Islam est devenu une réalité indéniable. Tandis que fleurissaient en abondance des rituels - séculiers, profanes et
sacrés. On les a appelé: "dévotion sauvage", "religieux statique", "la foi sans dieu",
"nouvelle religiosité", etc…
Aux Pays-Bas les liturgistes se regroupent
les uns les autres dans le cadre de l'Institut de Liturgie (Université de Tilburg), dans
une sous-section de l'Ecole d'Etudes Supérieures de Théologie et de Religion des
Pays-Bas (NOSTER), ainsi que dans des
corporations ecclésiastiques. Le programme de recherche de l'Institut de Liturgie
suit de près toute la recherche liturgique;
l'Institut joue un rôle de coordination à
l'endroit des activités menées dans le
champ liturgique. Le programme se caractérise par une approche multidisciplinaire
et œcuménique de la liturgie. La conférence majeure de Willem Frijhoff ainsi que les

donneront un bel exemple de la recherche
menée en liturgie aux Pays-Bas.
Notre Congrès se tiendra au NH De KonningshofHotel ("the King's Garden Hotel"),
Construit en 1951 comme couvent des
Sours du Sacré-Coeur et comme pensionnat pour filles, il dura ainsi jusqu'en 1970.
Puis il fut transformé en hôtel du groupe
international NH. Dans l'un des foyers de
l'hôtel, on peut voir encore la pierre de
fondation de la chapelle. Elle dit (en néerlandais): "Ici fut exaucée la promesse du
Sacré-Cœur: 'Je répandrai d'abondantes
bénédictions sur toutes leurs activités.' "
Nos prières du matin et du soir auront lieu
dans l'ancienne chapelle actuellement utilisée de manière habituelle comme salle à
manger. Nous retrouverons donc la chapelle - l'orgue y est encore et peut être
joué (même si le directeur de l'hôtel ne le
savait point!). Dans cette salle spacieuse
les vitraux sont encore en place, retraçant
la création de l'univers et celle d'Adam et
Eve. Bref notre lieu de rencontre est exemplaire des rapports entre l'Eglise et la société aux Pays-Bas.
L'excursion à Utrecht, au centre du pays,
vous donnera de découvrir notre passé religieux. Nous visiterons quelques églises
qui, au Moyen Age, formaient un croix en
plein cœur de la cité. Mais vous verrez aussi où nous en sommes maintenant: une
église médiévale convertie en musée d'orgues de Barbarie. L'Eucharistie du Congrès
sera célébrée dans la cathédrale gothique.
Ce jour, l'excursion se terminera avec un
repas indonésien, une réflexion sur le passé colonial des Pays-Bas qui dura jusqu'en
1945/49.

den letzten zwanzig-dreißig Jahren entstanden, häufig mit evangelikalem, charismatischem oder pfingstkirchlichem Hintergrund
und oft bestehend aus Einwanderern. In der
gleichen Zeit ist der Islam bei uns eine unbestreitbare Realität geworden. Daneben
schoss eine Fülle von Ritualen aus dem Boden, säkulare, profane und sakrale. Sie werden etikettiert als „wilde Frömmigkeit“, „Religiöse Turbulenzen“, „Glaube der Gottlosen“, „neue Religiosität“ usw.
Die Liturgiewissenschaftler/innen in den Niederlanden begegnen einander im Liturgischen Institut (Universität Tilburg), in einer
Unterabteilung der Niederländischen Schule
für Fortgeschrittene Studien in Theologie
und Religion (NOSTER) sowie in kirchlichen
Gremien. Das Forschungsprogramm des Liturgischen Instituts bringt nahezu alle Forschungsvorhaben zusammen, es hat eine koordinierende Funktion im Bereich der Liturgiewissenschaft. Das Programm ist interdisziplinär und ökumenisch ausgerichtet. Das
Hauptreferat von Willem Frijhoff und die neun Niederländischen Objektstudien geben
exemplarisch Einblick in die liturgiewissenschaftliche Forschungsarbeit in den Niederlanden.
Unser Kongress wird im NH De Koningshof
Hotel (Hotel Königshof) stattfinden. Erbaut
1951 als Kloster der Herz-Jesu-Schwestern
mit Mädchenschulen und -internat, ist es seit den 70-er Jahren ein Hotel der internationalen NH-Gruppe. Der Grundstein der Kapelle ist noch in einem der Foyers zu sehen.
Er trägt die (niederländische) Inschrift: „Hier
erfüllt sich die Verheißung des Heiligsten
Herzens: Überreichen Segen werde ich ausgießen auf all ihre Unternehmungen“. Unsere Morgen- und Abendgottesdienste werden wir in der ehemaligen Hauskapelle feiern, die zur Zeit zumeist als Speisesaal genutzt wird. Wir werden sie wieder in einen
Gottesdienstraum verwandeln - es gibt dort
immer noch eine funktionsfähige Orgel (deren Existenz dem Hotelmanager nicht bekannt war). Eine Wand dieses geräumigen
Saals besteht immer noch aus einem Glasfenster, das die Erschaffung der Welt und
der ersten Menschen zeigt. Kurzum, unser
Tagungsort ist ein Spiegelbild der Niederländischen Situation von Kirche und Gesellschaft.
Die Exkursion nach Utrecht im Zentrum unseres Landes wird Sie mit unserer religiösen
Vergangenheit bekannt machen. Wir werden einige mittelalterliche Kirchen besichtigen, die im Herzen der Stadt in der Form eines Kreuzes angeordnet sind. Aber auch die
Gegenwart wird zu sehen sein: eine ehemalige Kirche, die heute ein Museum für Drehorgeln ist. Die Kongress-Eucharistie werden wir in der Domkerk feiern. Und den Abschluss der Exkursion wird ein Indonesisches Abendessen bilden, das einen Bogen
schlägt zu unserer kolonialen Vergangenheit, die bis 1945/49 dauerte.
Wir freuen uns darauf, Sie persönlich im
nächsten Sommer in unserem Land begrüßen zu dürfen.

SHORT COMMUNICATIONS
During the Eindhoven Congress there will be opportunities for participants to present Short Communications. These need not be related to the Congress theme and can be on any liturgical topic. These are often on the current research interests of the presenter.
Short Communications last thirty-five minutes including any discussion. Short Communications are not moderated and it is up to the
presenter to decide how much time is to be allotted to questions and discussion.
If you wish to present a Short Communication, please indicate its title on the registration form. Societas cannot cover the costs of
translating or copying Short Communications or other handouts.
LES COMMUNICATIONS BREVES

KURZVORTRÄGE
Der Kongress in Eindhoven bietet wieder Gelegenheit für Kurzreferate zu Themen Ihrer Wahl. Kurzvorträge brauchen nicht auf das Kongressthema bezogen zu sein. Sehr oft geben sie Einblick in eines der aktuellen Forschungsgebiete des Redners.
Kurzvorträge dauern 35 Minuten, einschließlich der Diskussion. Sie werden nicht moderiert, und es ist Sache des Redners bzw. der
Rednerin zu entscheiden, wieviel Zeit er bzw. sie für den Vortrag ansetzt und wieviel für die Diskussion.
Sie können auf dem Anmeldefomular angeben, dass und zu welchem Thema Sie ein Kurzreferat halten möchten. Für Übersetzungen,
Kopien oder andere Unterlagen im Zusammenhang mit Kurzreferaten kann die Societas keine Kosten übernehmen.
VISITING UTRECHT AND
THE NETHERLANDS
On Thursday the participants of the Congress can choose between two excursions.
The first possibility is a visit of the town of
Utrecht. Utrecht is the fourth largest city of
the Netherlands and has a rich history going back to Roman times. The medieval
town, with its canals and cellars by the
wharves, ancient churches and, of course,
the Dom tower lends a special character
to the city.
A guided walk through the city will give
insight into the (church) history of Utrecht
and the Netherlands. After the walk there
will be time to choose your own programme. It could be worthwhile to visit
the National Museum from Musical Clock
to Street Organ, containing a collection of
automatic musical instruments from the
17th-20th centuries or the Centraal Museum, housed in a former medieval cloister,
with its large and varied collection of historical and modern art.
The other excursion comprehends a bus
tour through the Dutch countryside, with
its characteristic river landscapes and its
dikes. Not only do the Dutch have the
skills to protect the population from the rivers and the sea, but the water has also
been used to protect the people from
their enemies in times of war, which has
left the country with some fine monuments. One of these is the medieval castle of Loevestein, an historical site related
to the beginning of the State of the Netherlands in the sixteenth century. A nineteenth century fortress of the Dutch Waterline - located on the site spot of a former Roman fortress - gives another example of how the Dutch have taken advantage of their location below sea level.

ville d’Utrecht. Utrecht est la quatrième
plus grande ville des Pays-Bas; sa riche
histoire riche remonte à l’époque romaine. La cité médiévale avec ses canaux et
ses caves proches des quais, ses églises
anciennes et, bien sûr, la tour du Dôme,
donnent un cachet particulier à la ville.
La promenade guidée à travers la ville offrira un aperçu de l’histoire de l’Eglise d’Utrecht et des Pays-Bas. Après la promenade vous aurez la possibilité de choisir votre propre programme. Une visite du Musée National de l’Horloge musicale, situé
rue de l’Orgue, vaut la peine. Il contient
une collection d’automates musicaux du
XVIIe au XXe siècle. Ou encore celle du
Musée Central, logé dans un ancien cloître médiéval, avec sa collection vaste et variée d’art historique et contemporain.
L’autre excursion comprend un tour d’autobus à travers la campagne hollandaise,
caractérisée par ses paysages fluviaux et
ses digues. Car les Hollandais ont non seulement montré leur génie en protégeant
la population des rivières et de la mer,
mais encore celui en utilisant l’eau comme rempart contre leurs ennemis en temps de guerre; de là quelques beaux monuments dans la campagne L’un d’eux est
le château médiéval de Loevestein, un site historique lié au commencement de
l’Etat des Pays-Bas au seizième siècle.
Une forteresse du dix-neuvieme siècle appartenant à la ligne de flottaison hollandaise - située à l’endroit d’une ancienne
forteresse romaine - fournit un autre
exemple du profit que les Hollandais ont
su tirer de leur position au-dessous du niveau de la mer.

BESUCH: UTRECHT UND DIE NIEDERLANDE
Am Donnerstag können die Kongressteilnehmer zwischen zwei Exkursionen wählen.
Die erste Möglichkeit ist ein Besuch der
Stadt Utrecht. Utrecht ist die viertgrösste
Stadt der Niederlande und hat eine reichhaltige Geschichte bis zurück in die Zeit
der Römer. Es ist eine mittelalterliche
Stadt mit Kanälen und Kellern und Kaianlagen. Die alten Kirchen und natürlich der
Turm des Domes geben ihr einen speziellen Charakter.
Eine Führung durch die Stadt wird einen
Einblick geben in die (Kirchen-) Geschichte Utrechts und der Niederlande. Nach der
Führung bleibt Zeit für ein eigenes Programm. Es würde sich lohnen, das National Museum zu besuchen, das Instrumente vom Glockenspiel bis zur Strassenorgel
zeigt. Es enthält eine Sammlung von Musikautomaten des 17. bis 20. Jahrhunderts.
Oder dann das Centraal Museum, welches sich in einem ehemaligen mittelalterlichen Kloster befindet, mit seiner grossen und vielseitigen Sammlung historischer und moderner Kunstwerke.
Der andere Ausflug ist eine Busfahrt durch
holländisches Land mit ihren charakeristischen Flusslandschaften und Deichen.
Die Holländer wissen nicht nur, die Bevölkerung vor den Flüssen und dem Meer zu
schützen, sie haben das Wasser in Kriegszeiten auch zum Schutz der Einwohner
gegen ihre Feinde benutzt. Einige bedeutende Denkmäler erinnern daran. Eines
von ihnen ist das mittelalterliche Schloss
von Loevestein, eine historische Stätte,
die zurückführt ins 16. Jahrhundert, an
den Anfang des Staates der Niederlande.
Eine Burg des 19. Jahrhunderts der holländischen Wasserlinie - auf dem Gelände
einer ehemaligen römischen Burg - ist ein
anderes Beispiel, wie die Holländer ihre
Lage unter dem Meeresspiegel zuu ihrem
Vorteil benutzen.

Accommodation
All housing will be at the De Koningshof
Hotel in either single or double rooms.
Extra nights can be booked both before
and after the Congress. Fees for extra
nights’ housing are payable along with
your Congress fees. (You will not get the
reduced rate if you call the hotel yourself.)
The electrical system works on 220 volts.
Meals
All meals, with the exception of those on
the tour, will be served in the dining facilities of De Koningshof. The first scheduled Congress meal will be on Monday 11
August at 18h00 and the last is lunch on
Saturday 16 August. Meals are available at
the hotel restaurant for those arriving early or staying after the Congress. Alternatively, there is a shopping centre fifteen minutes walk from the Congress site.

Those traveling from overseas can book

Weather
Summer is a very beautiful time of the year in Eindhoven. The weather is unpredictable. Daytime temperatures can range
from 15 to 25oC and nights are not much
cooler than the days. Check the long-range forecast before leaving home.
Clothing
During the Congress dress is casual except for the banquet at which more formal clothing is customary. You should
plan to bring clothing for a variety of weather conditions.

Unterbringung
Alle Unterkünfte liegen im Hotel De Koningshof in der Nähe von Eindhoven in
Einzelzimmern oder Doppelzimmern. Zusätzliche Übernachtungen vor und nach
dem Kongress können gebucht werden.
Die Kosten für zusätzliche Übernachtungen müssen zusammen mit den übrigen
Kongressgebühren im voraus bezahlt werden. (NB: Wenn Sie zusätzliche Übernachtungen direkt beim Hotel buchen, erhalten Sie nicht unseren reduzierten Tarif.)
Die Stromspannung beträgt 220 Volt.
Verpflegung
Alle Mahlzeiten außer denen während der
Exkursion finden im Hotel De Koningshof
statt. Die erste Mahlzeit ist das Abendessen am Montag, dem 11. August, um
18:00 Uhr, die letzte das Mittagessen am
Samstag, dem 16. August. Wenn Sie vor
Beginn des Kongresses ankommen oder
noch länger bleiben, können Sie im Hotel
essen.

Flugreisende sollten ihren Flug nach Amsterdam, Brüssel oder Maastricht buchen
und dann mit dem Zug nach Einhoven

Wetter
Der Sommer ist eine schöne Jahreszeit in
Eindhoven. Allerdings ist das Wetter einigermaßen unberechenbar. Tagestemperaturen können zwischen 15 und 25° C variieren, und die Nächte sind kaum kühler
als die Tage. Konsultieren Sie die Langzeitprognosen vor Ihrer Abreise!
Kleidung
Beim Bankett ist etwas formellere Kleidung erwünscht, ansonsten können Sie
während des Kongresses Freizeitkleidung
tragen. Bringen Sie Kleidung für verschiedene Witterungsbedingungen mit.
