Canada at the World Junior Championships:
- Eight of the nine skaters were selected from the Canadian Junior Long Track Championships held in
Saskatoon (Feb. 3-5).
- There are two pairs of brothers from Lévis, Que., and another skater’s sister (Spence) is on the national talent
squad.
- Hanly, McLean, Spence and Dilger will be competing at this weekend’s ISU Junior World Cup in Calgary.
- Junior skaters must have reached the age of 14, but not the age of 19 by July 1, 2011, as well as meeting ISU standard
requirements for each distance.
The world championships will include the following events:
- Women’s single distances: 500 metres (2 races), 1,000 metres, 1,500 metres and 3,000 metres.
- Men’s single distances: 500 metres (2 races), 1,000 metres, 1,500 metres and 5,000 metres.
- Women’s all round combination: 500, 1,500, 1,000 and 3,000 metres.
- Men’s all round combination: 500, 3,000, 1,500 and 5,000 metres.
- Team pursuit race for women: 6 laps by national teams of 3 skaters each.
- Team pursuit race for men: 8 laps by national teams of 3 skaters each.

Le Canada au Championnat du monde junior:
- Huit des neuf patineurs ont été sélectionnés à la suite du Championnat canadien junior sur longue piste qui a eu lieu le
week-end dernier à Saskatoon.
- Fait intéressant, cette équipe regroupe deux paires de frères provenant de Lévis, au Québec. Également à noter, la
sœur (Spence) d’une des patineuses se retrouve sur l’équipe nationale de talent.
- Hanly, McLean, Spence et Dilger seront en compétition lors de la Coupe du monde junior de l’UIP ce week-end à
Calgary.
- Les patineurs juniors doivent avoir atteint l’âge de 14 ans, mais pas l’âge de 19 ans en date du 1er juillet 2011 et
doivent respecter les exigences de l’ISU pour chaque distance.
Les courses ci-dessous seront disputées au Championnat du monde junior:
- Femmes, distances individuelles: 500 mètres (2 courses), 1000 mètres, 1500 mètres et 3000 mètres.
