Learners must achieve a pass grade in the multiple-choice question exam to achieve the ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology (see assessment table above) b. It is the mark for the multiple-choice knowledge question papers that forms the grade of the qualification – Pass, Merit or Distinction c. If a Learner is unsuccessful in any area, they will be re-assessed only in the unit(s) where they were referred d. Referrals must be completed within one year of the original assessment. The remainder of the Learner’s results will stay in the ITEC system until all aspects of each unit have been allocated a pass grade Recommended Prior Learning It is recommended that Learners should have achieved a level of education equivalent to five GCSEs at grades A*- C prior to commencing the ITEC Level 3 in Anatomy and Physiology. However, exemptions may be made for adult returners with experience of the workplace Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology – Rationale V6 The qualification is suitable for: Any adult returnee with a good basic general education returning to education with a desire to work as a Massage Therapist or Reflexologist for which the A & P award is a pre-requisite Anyone already working as a Nurse or Carer who may wish to become a Complementary Therapist, as the A & P is a pre-requisite qualification to many other awards Anyone involved in gym or aerobics who must have a good understanding of the body structure or who may wish to add Sports Massage to their skills, as the A & P with Holistic Massage is a pre-requisite for this qualification Anyone who wishes to train as a Beauty Therapist Opportunities for Progression Once Learners have achieved the ITEC Level 3 in Anatomy and Physiology they may progress on to other ITEC or equivalent Awards, Certificates and Diplomas at Level 3, for example: Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology Level 3 Diploma in Indian Head Massage Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Massage Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy Level 3 Diploma in Lymphatic Drainage Level 3 Diploma in On-Site Massage Level 3 Diploma in Thai Massage Level 3 Diploma in Infant and Child Massage For further Awards, Certificates and Diplomas please go to www.itecworld.co.uk Opportunities for Employment If Graduates take therapy qualifications in addition to the Anatomy and Physiology qualification they can work on Cruise Ships, Health Farms and Health Clubs Anatomy and Physiology is also part of the Gym Instruction and Aerobics qualifications along with other fitness training qualifications There are now several degree courses available in Complementary Therapies to which Learners may progress Relationship to National Occupational Standards (NOS) ITEC has mapped to National Occupational Standards where they exist and has ensured that best practice in the workplace has been reflected in the qualification.
