This presentation will describe the types of studies that have been conducted to date and how these have informed the development of a program of research. The research program includes a variety of studies involving children diagnosed with cancer and their family across the trajectory of the illness as well as massage therapists. The goal of this program of research is to understand how massage therapy contributes to comfort and symptom management as well as its limitations.
