Is the eternal summer a Chimera?
Dear Reader.
As the earth insists on rotating, the September Equinox is officially upon us. From Sunday the 22nd of September at 22:44 CEST,
summer was officially an illusion. We are already into the rainy season when the days grow shorter and have left behind the sun, the heat,
the beach.... The chimeric eternal Summer.
According to the Oxford dictionary a chimera is "a thing which is hoped for but is illusory or impossible to achieve". In Greek mythology,
the chimera was a fire breathing monster and its first literary reference is found in Homer´s Iliad where it is described as "a thing of
immortal make, not human, lion-fronted and snake behind, a goat in the middle, and snorting out the breath of the terrible flame of
bright fire".
One of the first example of 3-in-1 in the history of mankind... after that we´ve had the super-famous, multi-purpose, 3 in 1 oil, and later
other stuff like 3 in 1 coffee, shampoos, creams, clothing items and a huge and endless etcetera.
Well, here at SMC we take the chimeric 3-in-one concept one step further and this month we present the ALL-IN-ONE vacuum solution...

La Terre conservant sa rotation, l'équinoxe de septembre se trouve maintenant officiellement au-dessus de nos têtes. À partir du 22
septembre à 22:44 HAEC, l'été devient officiellement une illusion. La saison des pluies est déjà là lorsque les jours se raccourcissent et
laissent derrière eux le soleil, la chaleur, la plage... Le chimérique éternel été.
Selon le dictionnaire Oxford, une chimère est « une chose que l'on espère mais qui est illusoire ou impossible à atteindre ». Dans la
mythologie grecque, la chimère était un monstre crachant du feu. Sa première référence littéraire se retrouve dans l'Illiade de Homère
où il en fait un monstre « lion par-devant, serpent par-derrière, chèvre au milieu, capable de cracher de terribles flammes brûlantes ».
Un des premiers exemples de 3-en-1 dans l'histoire de l'humanité...après avoir eu la très célèbre huile 3-en-1 puis d'autres comme le
café, les shampoings, les crèmes, les vêtements, la liste est infinie.

The all-in-one energy saving vacuum solution
Series ZK2 - Vacuum unit
The ZK2 Energy Saving Compact Vacuum Unit is an extremely efficient
and versatile unit. This "All-In-One" unit includes: the supply valve,
release valve, vacuum switch, vacuum break flow adjustment needle,
suction filter and silencer.
The 2-stage ejector ensures highly efficient air consumption with
reduced running costs. Its versatility is also due to the functions it is
capable of performing thanks to the following options:
* A digital pressure switch with Energy Saving function can be added
allowing intermittent energising, only activated when the desired vacuum
level decreases.
This function reduces the air consumption by up to 90%.
* Work-piece dropping prevention and simplified wiring and
programming - provided with a dual 2 port valve (release valve / supply
valve): supply valve with self-holding function. Interlink between supply
valve and release valve.

JC - Floating Joint
The JC Series is designed to complement the existing series of pneumatic actuator accessories to
protect against cylinder misalignment. It has a rotating angle of ±5° and an allowable
eccentricity of ±0.5 to 1 mm.
The JC Series comes with an aluminium case which improves the overall weight and provides
significant improvements in terms of lateral loads.
They are ideal for any application where the joint needs to absorb any "off-centring" or "loss of
parallel accuracy" between the cylinder and the driven body.
