This guide describes how to install the HPE
StoreOnce System within a data center and
establish a basic network connection on a single
1GbE network port. The StoreOnce System can
then be fully configured using the StoreOnce CLI
or the StoreOnce GUI (recommended), as
described in the HPE StoreOnce 3100, 3500 and
5100 System Installation and Configuration Guide.

Step 2: Review additional contents
The StoreOnce 5100 System provides four PCIe
slots for the addition of StoreOnce 10GbE or
10GbE-T Network Cards or StoreOnce 8Gb Fibre
Channel cards. These additional PCIe cards may
be pre-installed or supplied in separate boxes.
Some cards also require SFP+ transceivers, which
will be supplied with the kit. Refer to the StoreOnce
10 GbE Network Card and StoreOnce Fibre
Channel Card Installation and Configuration Guide
for more details about installing and cabling optional
PCIe cards and make sure the correct SFP+
transceivers are fitted, if required.

Attach the security bezel.
NOTE: The key to lock the bezel is
attached to the back of the security
bezel. One key is supplied.

The StoreOnce 5100 System supports capacity
expansion. Up to five expansion enclosures may
be added to the base configuration. These may
have been factory configured and must be cabled
in the correct sequence. Refer to the StoreOnce
5100 48TB Capacity Upgrade Kit Guide for more
details.

Step 3: Install the unit in the rack
CAUTION: Use extreme caution when
installing and pulling units from the rack; they
can slip and fall, causing damage to the
StoreOnce System or injury. Hewlett Packard
Enterprise is not responsible for any damage
or injury caused by the mishandling of the
StoreOnce System.
Always use at least two people to lift and
locate an enclosure into the rack.
There is a label on top of the appliance that shows
the default network name and MAC address of the
1GbE network port 1 of the unit and login
information for the iLO4 management port. Before
you install the appliance in the rack, make a note
of this information.

Install the rail kit and install the StoreOnce
System and cable management arm into the
rack. For more information, see the installation

Perform a final check to ensure all cables are
connected correctly and securely:
Connect LAN port 1 to the network that will be used
to manage the StoreOnce System.

Power on the StoreOnce System (the power
button is on the front of the unit).
The Power button LED flashes green during
the power-on sequence, and the Power button,
System Health and NIC status LEDs all show
steady green when the StoreOnce System is
powering up.

(optional)
To configure iLO manually during bootup press F8
and enter the network details and user credentials
(as noted in step 1).
Alternatively, the system will display the iLO DHCP
address during bootup.
Make a note of it here so you can configure iLO
credentials after bootup.

Step 10: Configure basic network
After successful bootup the console screen will
display a login prompt.
Login using the default user name and password.
Default user name: Admin
Default password: admin
TIP: Remember to change the default user
names and passwords after installation.
Run the basic network script net set address
to configure a static address for LAN port 1 (eth0).
The Admin user can then access the StoreOnce
GUI and CLI on the network to complete remaining
system setup tasks, such as creating a more
complex network configuration.
The StoreOnce System is now accessible on the
network and further configuration can take place
using the StoreOnce Management GUI or CLI.
Refer to the HPE StoreOnce System Installation
and Configuration Guide for instructions on
completing configuration. The guide contains
information on basic appliance configuration, such
as licensing, setting date and time, managing users,
setting up email, SNMP and Remote Support. It
also describes how to configure the remaining
network ports.

Schritt 3: Einheit in das Rack einsetzen
ACHTUNG: Gehen Sie sehr vorsichtig vor,
wenn Sie Einheiten einbauen oder aus dem
Rack ziehen. Wenn sie Ihnen aus den
Händen fallen, kann das StoreOnce System
beschädigt werden, oder Sie können
Verletzungen davontragen. Hewlett Packard

Zum Heben und Einbauen eines Enclosures

Schalten Sie das StoreOnce System ein (der
Netzschalter befindet sich auf der
Gerätevorderseite).
Die LED-Betriebsanzeige blinkt während der
Einschaltsequenz grün. Der Netzschalter und
die LEDs zur Anzeige von Systemzustand und
NIC-Status leuchten dauerhaft grün, wenn das
StoreOnce-System eingeschaltet wird.
TIPP: Denken Sie daran, nach der
Installation die Standardbenutzernamen und
Kennwörter zu ändern.
Führen Sie das Standard-Netzwerk-Skript net set
address aus, um eine statische Adresse für
LAN-Port 1 (eth0) zu konfigurieren.
Der Admin-Benutzer kann dann auf StoreOnce GUI
und CLI im Netzwerk zugreifen, um verbleibenden
System Setup-Aufgaben auszuführen (z. B.

et de l’extraction des unités du rack. Elles
pourraient glisser et tomber, ce qui pourrait
endommager le système StoreOnce ou
provoquer des blessures corporelles. Hewlett
Packard Enterprise n’est pas responsable
des dommages ou blessures provoqué(e)s
par une mauvaise manipulation du système
StoreOnce.
Au moins deux personnes doivent soulever
et placer le boîtier dans le rack.
Une étiquette a été placée sur le dessus de
l’appliance sur laquelle vous trouverez le nom du
réseau par défaut et l’adresse MAC du premier port
réseau 1GbE de l’appareil et les informations de

Mettez le système StoreOnce sous tension (le

Le voyant du bouton d’alimentation clignote en
vert pendant la mise sous tension et le bouton
Power, les voyants d’état du système et de la
carte réseau s’allument tous en vert au
démarrage du système StoreOnce.

L’utilisateur Admin peut ensuite accéder à l’interface
graphique et à l’interface en ligne de commande
StoreOnce sur le réseau pour effectuer d'autres
tâches de configuration du système, comme la
création d’une configuration réseau plus complexe.

Sinon, le système affichera l’adresse DHCP iLO au
démarrage.
Le système StoreOnce est maintenant accessible
sur le réseau. Il est également possible de
configurer d’autres paramètres avec l’interface en
ligne de commande ou l’interface graphique

手順 2: 追加の内容物の確認
StoreOnce 5100 System は、StoreOnce 10GbE
または 10GbE-T ネットワークカード、または
StoreOnce 8Gb ファイバーチャネルカードを追加
するための 4 つの PCIe スロットを備えています。
これらの追加の PCIe カードは、プリインストー
ルされているか、個別の箱で提供される場合があ
ります。 一部のカードには SFP+ トランシーバー
も必要であり、これはキットとともに提供されま
す。 オプションの PCIe カードのインストールと
ケーブル接続についての詳細、および必要に応じ
て正しい SFP+ トランシーバーが取り付けられて

いて、Hewlett Packard Enterprise は一切の

アプライアンスの上部にラベルがあり、ユニット

ネットワーク名と MAC アドレス、および iLO4 管
理ポート用のログイン情報が記載されています。
アプライアンスをラックに取り付ける前に、この
情報をメモしておいてください。

StoreOnce System に電源を投入します (電源
ボタンはユニットの前面にあります)。
電源投入シーケンス中、電源ボタンの LED は
緑色で点滅します。電源ボタン、システムヘ
ルス、および NIC ステータスの LED は、
StoreOnce System の電源が投入されると緑
色で点灯します。

トワーク設定の作成など、残りのシステムのセッ
トアップタスクを完了できます。
DHCP で割り当てられた IP アドレスまたは静的
アドレスの詳細情報をメモしておきます。

手順 9: 起動中の iLO の設定 (オプショ
ン)
起動中に手動で iLO を設定するには、F8 キーを押
して、ネットワーク詳細とユーザー認証情報を入
力します (手順 3 に記載)。
または、起動中にシステムが iLO DHCP アドレス
を表示します。
ここにアドレスを書き留めておくと、起動後に iLO
認証情報を設定することができます。
手順 11: 次の手順
これで StoreOnce System はネットワーク上でア
クセスできるようになり、StoreOnce Management
GUI または CLI を使用して、より詳細な構成が可
能です。 構成を完了するには、『HPE StoreOnce
System Installation and Configuration Guide』
を参照してください。 このガイドには、ライセン
ス、日付と時刻の設定、ユーザーの管理、電子メー
ルの設定、SNMP および Remote Support など、
基本的なアプライアンスの設定に関する情報が含
まれます。 また、残りのネットワークポートを構
成する方法についても説明しています。
