Subject to change.
EXCHAiNGE is entering its fourth year – Linked to our last
year’s theme Change Management the main theme of this
year’s EXCHAiNGE is
Designing and
managing the supply
chain of tomorrow
We have courage
We have the courage to embrace new challenges!
We do a good job of managing the flow of materials today, but
how well equipped are we to manage the flow of information
and capital in tomorrow’s supply chain?
We explore
EXCHAiNGE explores the themes of digitization, compliance,
and supply chain finance – delivering clear answers and
highlighting real-life approaches that empower you to drive and
shape the future.
We provide
We provide clarity – and take a critical look at emerging
themes. And we create space and time in which people with
different perspectives, realms of experience, and needs can
engage in an open exchange.
We do this by bringing together the creative minds behind
start-ups, small and medium-sized businesses, and large
enterprises.
We inspire
Inspire and be inspired – in an exchange with other leading
figures and driving forces in the supply chain!
EXCHAiNGE means a community in dialog.
You are very welcome to join this
unique event.

Session 1
Compliance –
„Corruption? No thank you!“
We need to network – ideally in all directions. Create crowd solutions, promote disruptive
ideas. We must share information – quickly and across cultural and continental divides.
Integrate our suppliers, create an atmosphere of mutual trust. And all that in compliance with
the clear rules of law and order in Germany in a manner that will stand up in an audit. Every
step is documented. Do we risk leaving behind Generation Y – the start-ups and innovators
in the supply chain network? What is the right middle course that we supply chainers should
pursue?

Digitization –
The power of information
Do we have any chance of developing sound strategies for a world of such growing complexity if we work alone? Not likely! This insight – though hard to swallow – has been accepted.
But do we already have streamlined processes in place to share the information we consider
important when interfacing with our partners? Why should we be better equipped to deal with
this tomorrow?
A top issue for us as supply chainers und therewith a topic at EXCHAiNGE 2016.

panel discussion, Session 3
The new Silk Road –
How will the “One Belt, One Road” initiative impact
global supply chains?
In 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping gave a speech in Kazakhstan on the “One Belt, One
Road” initiative to establish a modern-day Silk Road. One of China’s objectives with the
project is greater partnership with Eurasian countries, says Xi. The effort aims to bring
together 65 countries and 4.4 billion people by developing road and rail connections between
China and Western Europe and a maritime route with a network of deepwater ports extending
from China to East Africa and all the way to the North Sea. Several trains a week already
connect Duisburg in Germany to cities in China, for example.
How is the project coming along? What are the goals and challenges? How might this impact
global supply chains? These and many more questions will be addressed in the panel discussion featuring distinguished scholars, logistics service providers, and industry representatives
from China, Hong Kong, and Germany.

Supply Chain Finance –
Why are billions of euros not put to better use?
We’ve been optimizing the flow of goods and information for decades – at great effort, but
with excellent results. So why is the third pillar of supply chain management – managing the
flow of capital – still not on the agenda of SCM decision-makers? Why are the billions of
euros lying dormant each year in the supply chain not put to better use? How can we leverage
potential funding tools and the opportunities they present to our advantage? How can we
master the flow of money in the supply chain, today and in the future?
