An angler´s paradise
The east side of Langeland is an angler´s paradise. There are many good
opportunities to catch trout along the coast, and plenty of cod in the Langeland
Belt, many of which are quite large. But there are also good chances of catching
flatfish and - at the right times - garfish. However, it is the large cod that attract
most people, especially German visitors. One of them is Dietmar Zischkale
from Dülmen.
In fact he was one of the first anglers to contact harbour master Jens
Pedersen about getting a berth in the new marina. Since then he has come every
year to cateh cod in the Belt.
In 1994, he explains, he started sailing his new boat "Kaja", and it was a
wonderful first season. The weather and the fishing were perfect.
I was lueky enough to cateh my first fish over 20 kilos that year: he says.
And since then he has had plenty of fine seasons with lots of good cod. His
dream fish weighed 23.5 kilos, but he caught many others.
The fishing has slowed down a little, but that has given Dietmar Zischkale
the urge to catch other fish than cod. So through the years he has also caught
many flatfish and sea trout.
He is very fond of the atmosphere in the marina. It is c1ean and tidy. The
marina and its surroundings are well-kept and there is a familiar atmosphere
