Der erste Tag von SoundTrack_Cologne, der führenden deutschen Veranstaltung zu Musik
und Sound in Film, Games und Medien, ist der Musik für Videospiele gewidmet: Cris
Velasco (Bloodborne, God of War) Mikolai Stroinski (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Vanishing
of Ethan Carter), Jeff Rona (God of War 3, Far Cry 4) und Jason Graves (The Order: 1886,
Evolve) werden am Donnerstag, 20. August, zu Gast bei der zwölften Ausgabe von
SoundTrack_Cologne sein.
Ob episch orchestrale, düster experimentelle oder moderne Hybridscores; der vielseitge und
bereits mit zahlreichen Preisen bedachte Cris Velasco fühlt sich überall zu Hause. So hat er
die Musik für Bestsellergames wie Company of Heroes 2, Mass Effect 3, Borderlands
2, ZombiU, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, Bloodborne, Darksiders und die God of
War-Serie geschrieben. Auch als der legendäre Hellraiser-Schöpfer Cliver Barker einen
Ausflug ins Videospielgeschäft wagte, war es Cris Velascos Musik, die aus Jericho den
Vorhof zur Hölle machte.
Mikolai Stroinski schrieb die Musik für von Publikum und Kritik geschätzte Spiele wie The
Vanishing of Ethan Carter und ganz aktuell The Witcher 3: Witch Hunt, dem dritten Teil
der erfolgreichsten Videospielreihe aus Polen.
Jason Graves ist bereits zum zweiten Mal zu Gast bei SoundTrack_Cologne. In den
vergangenen Jahren hat er seinen Ruf als einer der gefragtesten Videospielkomponisten
weiter gefestigt, so steuerte er die Musik für High-Profile-Games wie The Order: 1886, Dead
Space, Evolve und dem Reboot der Erfolgsserie Tomb Raider bei.
Als er bereits ein erfolgreicher Filmkomponist war und Musiken zu Filmen wie The Thin Red
Line, Black Hawk Down, White Squall oder Earthsee beigesteuert hatte, begann Jeff Rona
auch für Spiele zu komponieren. So schrieb er unter anderem Musik für God of War 3 und
zuletzt Far Cry 4. Er zählt sicherlich zu den umtriebigsten zeitgenössischen Film- und
Games-Komponisten und wird in diesem Jahr neben einem Praxis-Workshop auch mit
einem Konzert bei Soundtrack_Cologne vertreten sein.
SoundTrack_Cologne ist der größte deutsche Fachkongress für Musik und Ton in Film,
Games und Medien und Impulsgeber der wachsenden europäischen Festival- und
Kongresslandschaft. In rund 30 Diskussionsrunden, Panels, Workshops und Networking
Events stehen aktuelle Entwicklungen in Kultur, Recht, Markt und Technik der Medienmusik
im Fokus, sowie Business-Cases, Professionalisierung und Vernetzung. Auch die
Ausbildung des studentischen Nachwuchses ist zentrales Thema. Hinzu kommen rund 30
Festivalveranstaltungen mit Filmen über Musik für das breite Publikum.
Weitere Gäste aus den Bereichen Film und TV-Serie werden in den nächsten Tagen bekannt
gegeben.

The first day of SoundTrack_Cologne 12, the leading German event for music and sound in
film, games and media is dedicated to the music for video games: On Thursday, August 20th
Cris Velasco (Bloodborne, God of War), Mikolai Stroinski (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,
Vanishing of Ethan Carter), Jeff Rona (God of War 3, Far Cry 4) and Jason Graves (The
Order 1886, Evolve) will be guests at the twelfth edition of SoundTrack_Cologne.
Epic orchestral, dark experimental or modern hybrid scores; the versatile and mulit-awarding
winning composers Cris Velasco is at home with every stile. He composed the music for
bestseller games such as Company of Heroes 2, Mass Effect 3, Borderlands 2, ZombiU,
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, Bloodborne, Darksiders and the God of War-series.
When legendary Hellraiser-creator Clive Barker made an excursion into the field of video
games, it was Cris Velasco's music that made Jericho to Hell's Precipice.
Mikolai Stroinski wrote the music for games praised by audiences as well as critics like
Dark Souls 2, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and recently The Witcher 3: Witch Hunt,
the third part of the most successful video game series from Poland.
For the second time Jason Graves will be joining SoundTrack_Cologne. In the past years he
established himself even further as one of the most sought video game composers. He wrote
the music for high profile games such as The Order: 1886, Dead Space, Evolve and the
2013 reboot of the successful Tomb Raider series.
He was already an established film composer and had worked on the music for movies such
as The Thin Red Line, Black Hawk Down, White Squall and Earthsea, when Jeff Rona
started to compose for video games. Amongst others he wrote the music for God of War 3
and more recently Far Cry 4. He can be counted among the most busy contemporary film
and games composers and will give a practically orientated workshop as well as a concert at
SoundTrack_Cologne.
SoundTrack_Cologne will take place for the 12th time in 2015. It is the biggest German
business congress for music and sound in film, games and media, and trendsetter in the
growing landscape of festivals and congresses in Europe. In about 30 round tables, panels,
workshops and networking events, it focusses on current developments in culture, law,
marketing and technics of media music as well as business cases, professionalization and
networking. The training of the younger generation of students is a central issue. And for the
general public, there are also about 30 festival events with films about music.
