Start at the Pompidou Center and observe the street life
in the square to its west.
2.
Walk south to the Hôtel de Ville (city hall).
3.
From the Hôtel de Ville, walk east through the Place StGervais and behind the Mairie (“town” hall) of the 4th
arrondissement to rue François Miron to see the 15th
century house on the corner of rue Cloche-Perce.

Cross rue de Rivoli and walk north to rue des Rosiers,
traditionally the heart of the Jewish neighborhood in
Paris. Stop at L’As du Falafel (34 rue des Rosiers, Tel. 01
48 87 63 60 or Chez Marianne (2, Rue des Hospitalières
Saint-Gervais, Tel. 01 42 72 18 86) for middle eastern
food.
5.
Make your way east to Place des Vosges, surrounded by
arcades of shops, restaurants and art galleries.

For more traditional French fare (yet be warned it’s a bit touristy), cross into the 3 arrondissement just north of Place des
Vosges for Chez Janou (2, rue Roger-Verlomme, Tel. 01 42 72 28 41) or for more modern (and yes, mostly raw) French
cuisine, try Cru (7, rue Charlemagne, Tel. 01 40 27 81 84).
