Find articles for your first research paper
To find articles, use a database - NOT the Library Catalogue – accessible by the Library Catalogue. To figure
out which database to use, choose your subject area from the list on the database page, or ask a librarian.
The library subscribes to over 20 000 online journals.
Some article databases link directly to the full article online.

Foreign Language Books
How to find Foreign Language Books in the library catalog?
Books in UHA Libraries are organized by their subject content or in literature by the author’s nationality,
not by the language in which they are written. Therefore, all the books in any one language will not be
found in one spot.
If you are looking for a specific book, do a Phrase Search for the title or the author. If the title appears in a
language other than French, the book is in the other language.
The Dewey classification may help you to find a book in your language.
If you are looking for:
-
American literature  810
English literature  820
German literature  830
Italian literature  850
Foreign & Non-French Language Periodicals
Periodicals (newspapers, journals, and magazines) at UHA Libraries, like books, are organized by call
number according to their subject matter.
Once they are a little older, periodicals may be either be bound and shelved in the stacks under their call
number (with books on the same subject matter) or in the reserve
How to find Periodical Articles from and about Other Countries?
Factiva
Factiva is one of the libraries’s databases that can be used to find articles in periodicals from and about
other countries, as well as articles in languages other than French.
