Vancouver, BC – Canadian Parents for French BC & Yukon, the largest parent-lead
organization in BC, launched a “State of French Second Language Education in BC” report
this morning. The 32 page bilingual report focuses on addressing barriers to quality and
accessible French second language education such as the incredibly popular French immersion
program.

Vancouver, C.-B. – Canadian Parents for French C.-B et Yukon, le plus important organisme de
parents de toute la Colombie-Britannique, vient de publier son rapport intitulé State of French
Second Language Education in BC (Portrait de l’enseignement du français langue seconde
en C.-B.) ce matin. Ce rapport bilingue de 32 pages porte sur la façon de surmonter les
obstacles à l’accès aux programmes d’enseignement du français langue seconde de qualité,
notamment le très populaire programme d’immersion française.

You can still support our Grads! Participate in our last fundraisers, make a
cash or gift donation, or contribute a gift card from any points reward account
you have. Just mark your donation ‘After Grad’ and leave it at the office.
We happily accept donations from your business too! Receipts are given for
amounts of $25 or more.

AFTERGRAD PLANNING: the following decisions were made at our April
10th meeting ...


BREAKFAST will be brief at 30 minutes – just enough time to offer a few
goodies, connect Grads to waiting parents and hand out a sampling of
prizes. Coordinator Ron Coulson has already begun contacting his team of
parents; if you want to help and haven’t heard from him yet, email Ron at
[email protected].
PRIZES will be drawn before the Breakfast; some will be handed out at the
Breakfast in the early morning of June 16th and remaining prizes will be
handed out at the Year End Barbeque June 18th. The Prize Committee
would like to purchase a gift for each grad if possible, with gift values
ranging from about $25 to $300+, subject to funds raised.

RED CARPET: Any parents interested in helping give our Grads the Red
Carpet treatment as they board the ship, contact Jackie at
[email protected].

GRADE 11 PARENT VOLUNTEERS: are needed to chaperone on the ship
from 1:00 – 4:00 a.m. June 16th. If you or anyone you know would like to
help, email Tina at [email protected]
FINAL AFTER GRAD MEETINGS: 7 P.M. Wednesday May 15th and
Wednesday May 29th.
