Sakina M’Sa, portrait of a socially conscious fashion designer 10/06/2016 This week the Stylist Magazine ran a portrait of the designer where she made a point of talking about growing up in Marseilles and her connections with the Maison Méditerranéenne des Métiers de la Mode ( MMMM). Founder of the concept store Front de Mode, and designer for her two lines Sakina M'Sa and Blue Line, as well as leading the project « Manifeste pour un eco-systeme de la mode au XXIeme siecle [Manifesto for a fashion industry ecosystem for the 21st century] » Sakina M'Sa is a real "slasheuse": a slasher/slasheuse is someone who describers themselves as having a day job/(slash) and second job, activity or passion. As a designer with a social conscious Sakina M'Sa runs workshops at Seine-Saint-Denis {north of Paris], in Rio and in Madagascar. She also organises fashion runway shows in the Cancer Department at the Avicenne Hospital in Bobigny [north east of Paris], and is just starting her 6th "Fashion Week in Prison" at the Fleury Mérogis prison, south of Paris. In order to celebrate the 5th anniversary of her T-Shirts « Goutte d'Or J'adore » [Goutte d'or is an area east of Montmartre in Paris] and « Barbes mon amour » [Barbes is in the 18th district of Paris], she is organising an open-evening in her workshop on 16 June from 6:30pm, at 6 rue des Gardes, Paris 18ème.
